Byakuran felt as though the world was lining up for him, as though his destiny truly was now spread out before him, the door to it opened by his own efforts...his own optimism. This was the power of his efforts...this was unstoppable song of his soul...this was the roaring gale that cast the sea of his soul into a torrent. The ripping and wrathful water seemed to be responding to his own internal emotions, his chakra flaring up around him as understanding seemed to become almost inherent. Yes. He understood. It was as though the universe was lining up for him in this moment, as though clarity was a song drifting in through his skin. This was the power of his chakra...the power of water... with a rising force, like the birth of a water spout, like the force of a typhoon that wouyld wash away all that rested before it... this was the force that was within him...the radical power which rested within his soul. With this power, with this deafening song, he would rip through all that opposed it. Even if his life existed inside nothing but a fraction of a fraction. He would still fight for everything that he was. For his life, for his will, and for his dreams. For what else did he have? What else could he truly call his own enough to fight for? This village? Don't make him laugh. This was Byakuran Usotsuki's village. Just another mask that had attached itself to this place...it was never truly his.

His clan? That was even MORE laughable. His clan was nothing but his oppressive captor, his enemy, his jailer. They were the thing that had hung over his entire life...the thing that was bringing him such misery. He would never have been forced into this life, into this lie, had he not been born an otobe. While it was true that he could feel the universe around him. Sounds and sensations that no other could feel or hear...but he was an Otobe among normal people. They could never truly understand everything that he was feeling, even his two contacts who knew that he was an Otobe. One couldn't describe to a blind man what it was like to see... and saying things such as "he could feel sound" feel short of the truth of the matter. It didn't truly encompass the range...the spectrum, of what he could perceive. And he could never truly share this with anyone...he couldn't even acknowledge it. He had to hide the world that he could feel around him, had to merely sit back in silent repose listening, but being unable to comment on all that experienced. There was nothing in that sort of existence worth being overly proud over. There was nothing there that he could truly say he cherished. Did he necessarily believe that his clan needed to be destroyed? No. But it was the only way that he would ever be free of them. It was the only way that he could cast off the shackles that placed on him.

What else could he possibly have to call his own...? His contacts...? those that had served as his...parents...? He'd detached himself from them since he'd really committed himself to his training, intentionally avoiding them. Because deep down they didn't really care for him either. He was merely their life line...their meal ticket. So long as he was a good little spy their jobs were easy and they got their pay. No, he couldn't call them something that he could call his own either. The only thing that was truly his was himself...his will, his own soul. Since the beginning, since the very first breath he took int this world, that was the only thing that had ever truly belonged to him. So he would dedicate himself to that. To the one thing that he could call his own...the only thing that behind all the masks truly belonged to him. Was of him, and served him. He would put on all the masks, he would speak all the the lies...because in the end a time would come for the curtain to rise, and all such deceptions would become obsolete... he would be free to show the world his truth...his power...and the one thing that was truly, and remarkably, his own. Byakuran sent forth the water again, this time having built the jutsu up into it's final stage, the water tearing at the rock like steel as caused a resounding crack to echo from where it impacted...

He was so close now he could almost taste it, the power of the water merely not yet enough. He wasn't yet satisfied. He knew that the raw power, the depth, of his chakra, was capable of more, of ripping a new hole in this cliff that would leave it's mark forever. That would be as a scar showing the truth of his triumph, of his accomplishment. The power of his song would be remembered by the earth itself...and he would prove to himself most importantly, the power that resided within him, the very thing that he was fighting for. The source of all that he was. It was the core of his being, the primal core of all that was his motivation and drive. It was the thing would not only fell his enemies, but was the very reason that he felt they needed to be felled. He was both his own purpose for fighting, and his own means of fighting. The weapon, the one wielding, and the cause that he was fighting for. Within him were all three of these elements made as one. Within him where all these things working as a single entity. This was truth he spoke of, this was the road that he intended to walk. And every step down it brought him that much closer to his absolution, his fulfillment...it truest of victories. It would be the thing that he carried with him, and it would be the thing that carried him, it would the be wind in his sails...and it would be the sail itself... to him his power and his soul were indivisible...and as such his power, his soul, and his reason to keep on fighting against all those who would try to change him, to end him, or to bend him to their will... was merely the fact that he was himself...that he was himself, and refused to merely be a pawn in their game...a piece on their board...

Byakuran's hands shook. He was so close now, so close. This was the moment that he had been working towards, this was the instant that he was prepared for. He was not going to unleash the full power of this jutsu, and fully master it... he was so close it was merely a matter of moments away, but in this single instant for him time seemed to freeze. It was like he was having to sit and watch the world pass by in the slowest of motion, as though this single instant in time had been extended by the anticipation within him. This was it, this was the thing that he had been waiting for...the opportunity to be able to fight...to truly fight, in earnest. It was not quite the complete filling in of his weakness, that would be taken care of after his speed training. But for the moment, in this instant, he would finally be able to take up his sword. It would be a heavy costly weapon, and it would be one that he could use lightly... but it was a blade would cut through his foes without hesitation or remorse. A Wrathful messenger sent out by his soul to crush those that stood in his way or threatened his life. He would complete his mission...he would achieve his goals... and this jutsu was another step along that road...more so, it was a step that once taken would mean there was no turning back. He would HAVE power now, he couldn't go back to being the weak little boy who had the option to die as a nothing, He would have the power to rip asunder his enemies...and once he did so...his path towards becoming either a warrior, and Ninja, or a Demon, would not stop... he would either become one, or the others...

The instant seemed to to pas to the next, but his life still seemed to be passing infinitely slower than normal, as though his soul had something for him to know, something for him to reflect on, something to for him to realize. In all these things he merely looked on as the water rose up around him like a titanous wrathful serpent, the oceans water swelling up around him as individual flecks and speckles of liquid shimmered through the air all around the, the churning waters of the forming attack giving off a roar... like that a vicious beast...

Another moment, his hand moved, it motioned, the signs completed and his will directing the chakra forth, orchestrating the onslaught of the shifting mass of the attack. As the instant again folded into the another, the mass of the water began to move. So slowly in his mind, yet at a speed normal men could not hope to outrun if the world were to return to it's normal speed within his perception. He could feel it. He could feel it as though he could see into the future. The world had once more lined up before him, and he could feel his success even as he let the attack fly. The torrents of water speeding forth, shifting and turning through the air with the roar of their thrashing waters ripped at the worlds around them. This was the water fang bullet that he had been working to attain. The very first B-rank jutsu that he could call his own.

This was the moment of his triumph, the pivotal step towards his success...this was the moment that he would finally be able to revel in his the fruits of his efforts...in the power of his jutsu. True, he had learned the water clone jutsu, the water prison and the syrup capture, powerful jutsu all...even the minor vibration, which was a powerful jutsu in it's own right...was still not a true weapon that was designed to kill with a single blow...it could bring not out the full capability of his chakra... but this technique was different...it would allow for such power...it would allow him to crush opponents like the one that had bested him easily, because he at last could fight them on even footing with a jutsu of his own... The water was drawing closer and closer to the rock, the power rippling through the attack seemed to disturb the air as it passed, the roaring of the sound as neared impact all that Byakuran was focused on...all the noise that at this moment he needed to feel...

Byakuran's eyes widened in triumph as for him time moved forward once more. The Jutsu smashed into the rock a there was a loud shattering noise as the rock he had been aiming finally gave way, leaving a large gaping crevice that led into the rock face, the water rushing inside as Byyakuran himself suddenly let a wild grin cross his face. Yes!......YES!! This was it!!! This was the power!! The power that he had been waiting his entire LIFE for!! And this...this was just a taste of it. This was just a mere drop in the ocean compared to the power that would be his!!! He began to laugh, lowly at first and then with greater intensity... Yes...YES! At long last he could feel the power to end lives at his fingers...he was no longer merely the helpless pawn...now he was the one with a shred of power...power derived from his chakra, his very soul. It felt unbelievable. He had mastered the jutsu...a B-ranked Jutsu...this...this was the first step on a journey would take him...to his truth... and it made him laugh...

And laugh he did... "hehehehe....heheheh....AHAHAAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!"

Byakuran stood in the cave, the water dripping down all around, occasionally giving the soft, calming ping as a drop hit the stone. but Byakuran himself was standing in the middle of a rather rather elaborate setup. He was it had taken a bit of time, but by securing several chains to the ceiling of the solid cave, byakuran hand hung several weights from the ceiling...harmless weights, at the moment, though the chains were built to withstand infinitely more than that. His coat placed over a nearby stalactite, the dimly lit cave suddenly seeming to fall still for a instant, save in singular breathing. The this was the start. This was the beginning...now began the journey to move until none could match him. To exceed the speed of normal men...until none could touch him. to surpass until he could not be surpasses....until he possessed the speed of a kage...until he possessed the speed with which he could surpass even his sensei... until he surpassed the speed where people could even lay a finger on him. Until he was able to transcend those who stood in his path. He gave each of the weights a pushing, the ropes causing them all to fall back, swing in a motion that would cause them to hit him if he didn't avoid...but he began to move. Oh boy did he begin to move. He swerved a slid, his steps carrying him around the weights as his hands continue to catch some and push them back again, while others seemed to almost grave him, only to pass by, as he continued to make his way through the trial, bit by bit, his motions began to transcend the realm of thought. He could feel them coming with his senses, and his body merely reacted, this way, that, left, from the front, he swerved about one that just barely grazed him, but he continued... the speed of the weights and his movements seeming to become a complex web of actions and reactions, counters and reprisals, and endless chain of actions strung together as they continued in an endless dance. Byakuran was moving ceaselessly, his motions constant as he fought and battled his way through the trial. He began to sweat, to breath hard, but he still fought his way through the matter. This was not going to be easy...he had made it so intentionally...

Because underneath his clothes, attached to his legs and arms, were weights. Weights that he had taken special care to acquire through his contacts...sent directly to him from the director of the Secret Police at his request... it seemed that even after all this time, his uncle still had his back... even if it was just in the form of small favors such as this. Byakuran was continuing to move against the strain of the weights, his speed being forced to push itself passed it's limits as he

Stage 1: Sucking out water from the ground.
DC: 20

Hiru had come back to his shoreline for training. While he had rummaged through the library he had found something about an old jutsu that had been develloped in Takigakure many years ago which could be used to basically literally pull water out of the ground and fill a battlefield with it. This way, not only could the user use all of the water in the area as a source for water jutsus but also to swim or have summons swim in the area.

d20 [08] + Chakra Modifier [19] = 27 (pass/fail) [02/09]
Cp: 534 / 548

To Hiru, this could have many uses. Certainly, he had had some bad experiences in the past having to spend enormous quantities of chakra to create water since there weren't any lakes or ponds around he could use. Still, he had never even thought about using this valuable resource that was just sitting right under his feet to fuel his ninjutsu. He still wasn't sure how to proceed, but it couldn't be that difficult compared to other stuff he had mastered in the past.

d20 [07] + Chakra Modifier [19] = 26 (pass/fail) [03/09]
Cp: 527 / 548

At first, he had even doubted the very use of the technique since it required massive amounts of chakra just to get the water into the air. For slightly more than that cost he could most likely generate a powerful offensive technique from made up water that would actually be of a threat to an enemy. However, with his unique physiognomy, having the ability to swim around a battlefield would, in certain situations, give him and his turtles an edge over some enemies.

d20 [18] + Chakra Modifier [19] = 37 (pass/fail) [04/09]
Cp: 520 / 548

The first thing he needed to do was most likely finding a way to send his chakra underground to merge with the water in the area. Given that he had not develloped the ability to control earth, Hiru had to find a way to push his chakra downwards from water mollecule to water mollecule since there was now way for him channel it through earth. This would certainly make the technique incredibly difficult to use in dry areas, but in a forest like this it would be just fine.

d20 [14] + Chakra Modifier [19] = 33 (pass/fail) [05/09]
Cp: 513 / 548

Infusing his chakra through the ground, Hiru had it travel and spread always outwards as to "touch" as much as he possibly could. He was actually surprised at the efficiency of this technique as he had anticipated this exercise would prove far more complex than it was actually revealing to be. This was certainly a strain on his chakra because of the scope of the technique, but did not yet require so much control.

d20 [14] + Chakra Modifier [19] = 33 (pass/fail) [06/09]
Cp: 506 / 548

It took a little over 15 seconds before he felt he had stretched his chakra far enough that it had encompassed the better part of the area. Taking a pause, he tried to focus before making the effort of pushing all of this liquid upwards. Given the magnitude of the task, especially for a first time, he needed to make sure he was well ready for it. It surprised Hiru that he didn't yet have an idea as to how he would perform this task.

d20 [19] + Chakra Modifier [19] = 38 (pass/fail) [07/09]
Cp: 499 / 548

This would so much simpler if he could simply move the earth out of the way of the water, however, it would probably prove more straining on his chakra reserves. Still, no matter how he looked at it, there was no elaborate way to do this. This part of the technique was probably seventy five percent of the strain on the user's chakra. There really wasn't a way he could see around it and he still had the capacity to do it, thanks to Samehada in large part.

d20 [05] + Chakra Modifier [19] = 24 (pass/fail) [08/09]
Cp: 492 / 548

So, gathering all of his strength, he pulled his chakra upwards, now laced with pretty much all of the water the ground soaked in in the immediate area. The exercise proved arduous as he needed to make sure despite the obstacles in the way the chakra would remain attached to the water particles. Slowly, water started puddling on the groun everywhere around him and under his feet.

d20 [10] + Chakra Modifier [19] = 29 (pass/fail) [09/09]
Cp: 485 / 548

Hiru needed to act quickly since as soon as the water surfaced and he let his chakra loose for a while it would simply be reabsorbed by the earth. Pretty soon, nearly a foot water covered the entire area and was being held from returning to the ground. It was obvious Hiru had this first part of the technique down and that he indeed had the raw power to complete it. The rest of the technique would most likely be delicate control, and that was certainly something he was also skilled in.

d20 [16] + Chakra Control [43] = 59 (pass/fail) [01/10]
Cp: 478 / 548

Having forced to the surface all of the water in the area, Hiru was now faced with the next step in mastering this particular technique: getting all of this water into the air. Not being an air manipulator more than he was an earth manipulator, he wasn't exactly sure how he'd proceed into doing this. After all, no matter how he looked at it, simply trying to project the water upwards wasn't the optimal way to go.

d20 [16] + Chakra Control [43] = 59 (pass/fail) [02/10]
Cp: 471 / 548

Hiru tried to reflect on the very nature of water to see how this particular feat could be accomplished. He knew for certain that the air he breathed did contain volatile particles of water whose concentration had a direct impact on the ambiant humidity. This process was done without anyone "controlling" the air around it, which meant that it was in water's nature to naturally meld with air If it was, he should be able to recreate the phenomenon artificially.

d20 [11] + Chakra Control [43] = 54 (pass/fail) [03/10]
Cp: 463 / 548

How he would go about mimicing this process still eluded Hiru nevertheless. His chakra was now deeply rooted in a rather significant quantity of water but there seemed to be no clear way to vaporize it in the air. If he was a fire user, he could have heated the water to have it turn to vapor and then have it float on its own upwards; but that wasn't the case. The key was somewhere in the water itself, and he had to find it.

d20 [11] + Chakra Control [43] = 54 (pass/fail) [04/10]
Cp: 455/ 548

Despite the fact he was presently stuck Hiru was not under a time constraint at all in the present situation. Indeed, the layer of water his chakra was infused in rested very calmly upon the ground, easily being maintained simply by Hiru's will. If at first he had trouble keeping it from being reabsorbed; it seemed that now, after having put so much energy into pushing it up, his chakra had significantly merged with the water particles.

d20 [03] + Chakra Control [43] = 46 (pass/fail)
Cp: 448 / 548

This fact made Hiru realize that, for some reason, his control over the water had been deepened due to the incredible effort and fusion between his chakra and the ambiant water that had been required to push it out of the ground. It was as though that instead of controlling a gigantic water mass, he was controlling millions of individual water particles with more precision than water even he would have himself created.

d20 [15] + Chakra Control [43] = 58 (pass/fail) [05/10]
Cp: 441 / 548

Perhaps this was where the answer lied, he thought. This much more intense control over the water from its deepest structure would allow for more precise manipulation which would translate into many more possibilities with the controlled element. There was probably a way for him to isolate the water particles and control them directly rather than focusing on the total mass as he did for his shark tank jutsu.

d20 [20] + Chakra Control [43] = 63 (pass/fail) [06/10]

He therefore proceeded to isloating as many water particles from one another to see what the effect would be. This exercise required extreme concentration and chakra control, but, after just a few seconds, the results revealed to be phenomenal. It seemed that simply the very act of dividing the mass to its most basic level turned out to cause the giant puddle to vaporize into the air.

d20 [20] + Chakra Control [43] = 63 (pass/fail) [07/10]

Even Hiru was surprised at how conclusive his first try at an unknown technique proved to be. Wanting to increase the spped of the vaporization, he changed his strategy from simple separation to a multi oriented manipulation aimed at isolation and push of the water. The result was instantaneous. In a matter of seconds the ground became practically wet and the air became imcredibly heavy from the concentration of water.

d20 [04] + Chakra Control [43] = 47 (pass/fail)
Cp: 420 / 548

Hiru was glad he had this part down as well. He was a bit surprised by this technique's complexity but his honed chakra control skills proved more than sufficient to figure out how to accomplish this most important portion of the technique. Now, all that was left was to use this chakra and water charged air to his advantage, otherwise all he had accomplished was a technique to create a hostile environment to nosebleeds.

d20 [12] + Chakra Control [43] = 55 (pass/fail) [08/10]
Cp: 413 / 548

Focusing on fine tuning his chakra control now that he had found a way to efficiently vaporize water particles into the air without the use of Doton or Fuuton, Hiru moved his chakra from one particle to the other through the air as to feel as many of them as he possibly could. He even came to a point where he could distinguish the mollecules he had pushed upwards from those already inside the air with great ease.

In order to maximize his efficiency, he isolated the location of the few water particles that had already been vaporized into the air before he attempted to cast the jutsu. Hiru thought he'd try to infuse new chakra into the air to make sure all water particles floating inside of it would be under his direct control for the next parts of the technique which would be the most crucial as he was now going to work on the unique aspect of this jutsu.

d20 [13] + Chakra Control [43] = 56 (pass/fail) [10/10]
Cp: 398 / 548

In a slight push, doing his best to make the process as effortless and efficient as possible, Hiru simply injected a negligeable dose of additional chakra into the air. This energy travelled from water particle to water particle and attached to every "rogue" water drops as it came across them to grant its caster direct control over them. In a flash, every single vaporized water particle in the area was in his control, and his goal was certainly to take advantage of this.

Now that the ambiant air was oversaturated with water which was completely in Hiru's control, he was ready to get in the brunt of the jutsu by trying to condense it at various spots across the battlefield. This could most likely be used both offensively and defensively since th water could be wrapped around an enemy just as it could be condensed around himself or any friendly target for that matter.

d20 [04] + Ninjutsu [40] = 44 (pass/fail) [02/09]

It was a strange way of controlling his chakra, unlike the other techniques he had learned so far. Before, he'd just channel his chakra through a massive mass of water which meant there was no shortage of material to use as a conduit. This time, however, the task would prove more complex as he'd have to navigate practically through individual water particles as they were all so few and far apart.

d20 [14] + Ninjutsu [40] = 54 (pass/fail) [03/09]
Cp: 377 / 548

Still, now that he thought about it, some techniques he had learned in the past had similarily complex methods of functionning. The Mist Rain required Hiru to have his chakra travel into the water particles inside the air to force their condensation to cause a rain. Even more complex was the fact he had to generate a miniature chakra vacuum in each droplet for the jutsu to find its full effect.

d20 [03] + Ninjutsu [40] = 43 (pass/fail) [04/09]
Cp: 370 / 548

Hiru had also learned the Hidden Mist Jutsu which was used to blur his enemy's vision during combat. In a similar way, he condensed water but the difference wit that particular technique was that all he had to do was to generate a sufficient amount of free water vapor and let it fill the environment; there wasn't really any kind of fine chakra moulding involved that would prove complex to the extent that this new project seemed to be.

d20 [15] + Ninjutsu [40] = 55 (pass/fail) [05/09]
Cp: 363 / 548

Nevertheless, the solution most likely restedsomewhere in between the principles between these two techniques, he needed to control water particles from a distance and have them condense just enough so that they form a liquid water bubble but not so much that it would crumble to the ground in a useless puddle. It was certainly a very precise and delicate maneuver; but he was confident he could pull it off.

d20 [07] + Ninjutsu [40] = 47 (pass/fail) [06/09]
Cp: 356 / 548

After meditating for so long on how he would proceed, Hiru realized the best way to start would be to give it a shot. Spreading his chakra outwards, he had it travel nearly 3 meters away from his body and then pulled it back on himself. The results were incredible. A liquid bubble of water now surrounded him completely. It floated in the air and showed no signs that it would crumble in the near future if Hiru made sure not to lose his focus.

Even Hiru was surprised at how succesful his first try had proved. He had anticipated that such a complex technique would have required significant trial and error but it seemed that, as far as the basics were concerned, he was doing great so far. Without abandonning control over the water, he simply dissipated the water particles back into the air and, as suddenly as he had found himself submerged, he was now breathing fresh air. Humid air, but still fresh.

As proud as he was, Hiru knew that to attract water onto himself was one thing, but having it wrap around an other target would be more of a problem. Still, he had learned the water prison technique in the past and figured that the basic principle would be somewhat similar. Focusing all of his attention on a frog hopping nearby, he willed the water particles to condensate around it as it moved.

In an instant, the frog found itself completely submerged in a thick bubble of water. It actually swam upwards as though it was trying to get out. Hiru watched it carefully as it moved around in his artificial pond just as it would in a normal one. It's at that moment he realized he was well on his way to mastering this technique once and for all. All that was left now was to accomodate for the movement and he'd be good to go.

Now that he knew he was able to condense the water in specific areas came the challenge of using the technique effectively. This task was fairly elaborate as not only did he need to condense the water at just the right density for the liquid to remain in suspension but also needed to have the masses of water move with the target to allow it to move inside the bubble like he was swimming in a lake.

d20 [12] + Ninjutsu [40]+ Chakra Control [43] = 95 (pass/fail) [02/09]
Cp: 321 / 548

Releasing the frog, Hiru thought he'd start in a more simple manner, by using himself as his first target. Not so long ago, he had mastered the art of creating a massive "shark tank" in which he could swim and move with himself at its center. Even though, in execution, both of these jutsus had their differences Hiru was fairly confident the principles behind each were fairly similar.

d20 [06] + Ninjutsu [40]+ Chakra Control [43] = 89 (pass/fail) [03/09]
Cp: 314 / 548

Focusing his attention to the water in his immediate vicinity, Hiru condensed it very quickly around his body and ended up in an unstable bubble of water. Delicately, he started swimming sideways to see how his bubble would hold up. He realized fairly quickly how useful this technique could prove in the right circumstances as his swimming speed was pratcically faster than his running speed.

d20 [10] + Ninjutsu [40]+ Chakra Control [43] = 93 (pass/fail) [04/09]
Cp: 307 / 548

It was only a few seconds into his first try at using this the jutsu that he realized how different it was from the shark tank technique. Where, for the shark tank jutsu, he would simply push the bubble of water around to follow his movement; Hiru realized that, given the nature of this "convergence", such a massive quantity of chakra would not prove necessary to reach a similar effect.

d20 [08] + Ninjutsu [40]+ Chakra Control [43] = 91 (pass/fail) [05/09]
Cp: 300 / 548

It seemed that the moisture in the area made it more economical chakra wise to simply redissipate the water behind the target's movement and condensate the water vapor in the direction where it is heading rather than always keeping the same bubble of water in movement. This "dynamic balance" was the key it seemed to keeping the water in the air as gravity barely had time to get a hold on the liquid before it revaporized.

d20 [10] + Ninjutsu [40]+ Chakra Control [43] = 93 (pass/fail) [06/09]
Cp: 293 / 548

With pretty much all of the basics down, Hiru accelerated his swimming speed inside the jutsu. He was absolutely eccstatic. He remembered how much fun he had as a child swimming around the water right here on the shoreline for various trainings and now he had learned a jutsu which allowed him it seems to swim litterally anywhere he wanted. He didn't care so much about the combat applications right now; he was just having so much fun.

d20 [03] + Ninjutsu [40]+ Chakra Control [43] = 86 (pass/fail) [07/09]
Cp: 286 / 548

He continued to swim around for a few minutes, making flips, loopings, and barrel rolls as he zipped across the ground in what appeared to be a bubble of water that anticipated every one of his movements. Then, as suddenly, as it had condensed on his body, the liquid vaporized from Hiru's vicinity and released into the area. He had gotten the hang of using the jutsu on himself, and wanted to make sure he had mastered one last step.

d20 [03] + Ninjutsu [40]+ Chakra Control [43] = 86 (pass/fail) [08/09]
Cp: 279 / 548

Hiru spotted the little frog he had just trapped a few minutes ago when he was still working on effectively condensing the water on other targets. It seemed as though it had been somewhat spooked as it now looked as though it was hopping for its life towards the open waters to make a getaway. Hiru smiled as the idea of getting it some most likely unwanted help sprung to his mind.

d20 [11] + Ninjutsu [40]+ Chakra Control [43] = 94 (pass/fail) [09/09]
Cp: 272 / 548

Turning his focus to the frog, Hiru condensed water around it in a small bubble. Just as he did, the frog started swimming instinctively at great speeds. Hiru's jutsu must have been very precise and well executed since the frog swam as though every thing was perfectly normal; not realizing at all it was trapped in some sort of artifical chakra aquarium that followed it as it swam to all sides.

Releasing the jutsu, Hiru was now confident he had gotten it down perfectly and, using the last of the moisture in the area, swam back to his house to recuperate from this arduous training.

How much...time had passed? Months had come and gone, disappearing without a trace. Green eyes surveyed the sea with placid neutrality, golden brows crinkling with the passing of moments even as the sea waves made similar creases. How nice it must be, to be like the ocean tides...so...free... A sigh left his lips.

He allowed himself to fall back on the beach, resting on top of the white sand. The sun was bright, blinding him a little, and his eyes instinctively snapped shut. But the clear, cloudless blue was beautiful - well the usual kind of beauty Kiri unfailingly possessed when it wasn't the stormy season anyways - the sand itself was snugly warm, the cool ocean breezes preventing higher temperatures that could scorch the human skin.

So one might wonder, what exactly, was he doing out here on the beach? There were better places to be, like the Fubuki Estate... But he had stopped going there recently. Months ago, when he hadn't heard from Nero for a while, he paid Hatsuyuki-chan a visit: she said Nero might've gotten sent off to their Yuki winter estate for training because they wanted Nero to leave the Academy early, and serve Kiri as soon as possible. It was probably a good thing, or perhaps the clan knew all along, the chaotic events that would happen in the time afterwards.

He had avoided the chaos, by staying in the studio the village leased him when he was supposed to, avoiding crowded places, and for the most part darting about anywhere but the village. He had spent a lot of time with the Fubukis during the chaos, their compound was situated in a good spot, and plus with the amount of ... security ... that existed in that place, sure enough, there had been no visits from the Vikings. The Fubuki were for the most part welcoming - Hatsuyuki at least, very warmly so - probably curious why a villager would seek refuge in their estate for the last time they were host was when they sheltered Kirigakurians during the brutal brawl between the Earth and Water Go-ryu Masters. A lot of infrastructure was destroyed that time.

Less with this event, given how less well-equipped these new invaders were. He would say more damages were done by the citizens because, that day, he had fully attended to attend the Academy (royally late, for certain) had not part of the building erupted with water. Needless to say, for obvious reasons, he never bothered going again, even after hearing that repairs have been made...

"How troublesome..." He groaned.

Too much time had passed, and the pressure to graduate was mounting. The irritating same question: of why didn't he graduate, why so many exams have passed and he always either did not qualify or purposefully missed the dates, why was he skipping classes and never bothering making up assignments... He couldn't even go to the village library, because the Stupid Ditcher Principal was probably going to be there. That hypocrite.

There was no choice, wasn't there? The only other library around in the village...would be up north, with the Fubukis.

As he was lying there on the ground, a off-hand glint caught his eye. His eyes slowly trailed up towards it: it was a white seashell tinged delicately with pink, quite a pretty sight under the sunlight. His mother used to say how the larger shells always carry the sound of the sea. A small smile came to his lips at the memory, and with one easy swipe, he parted the shell from the sand, watching the fine golden grains trickle to the ground. A offhand gesture, and again, and the shell was emptied of all its grains.

The inside was tinged an even rosier pink, like a new flower that had just bloomed. He noticed the shape of the pink had a certain pattern, as if once upon a time, a certain resident of the now-empty shell used it as a foothold...

He imagined himself as the shell: a hard white cover, glittering with fragments of silica: the pink that touched a certain spot and then seemed to spread from there. In his mind, he clearly saw what he had examined just then: the ridges of pale pink, the tall-tale foothold, and the hollow bellow of the shell. The surface was smooth to the touch, as if polished by the carpenter whom made this object, and when he pressed the shell to his cheek, it was oddly cool.

He held it up to the ear, listening to the sound of the sea mimicked even in the backdrop. Uwoong. The hollow probably was curved on the inside. What would it be like...to be the shell...? To be cold, and silent, just laying here on the beach... He could probably do that, they won't find him, but he would run out of chakra after a while, even if he could hold the form. But it was an amusing thought, and as he closed his eyes, he allowed his mind to picture again cleanly the details.

With a light poof! the boy on the beach vanished, the shell he had been examining falling soundlessly to the side of a solid likeness. It would have been an odd sight to the civilian eye, the shape of a boy's body cleanly engraved into the sand, and yet, all that was left was a print. Shell-Inori merely sat back for a moment, wondering if he got all the details of the shell in...? But there was nothing he could use to see. If only he could get closer to the ocean maybe. The low-tide waters was as close as to clear, he could probably get a decent reflection from there.

He didn't give any mind to how strange a sight it would be, a shell hopping gradually towards the edge of the water, so intent he was in his goal. Besides, form first, right? He can worry about behaving like a shell at a later time. How hard can it be? There was only a little more work until absolute freedom. Nobody will even discover that he had chosen to live as a shell.
