Well, so far no luck. Perhaps if he moved a little further away from the trap, or even perch up on a desk he would have better luck? It was worth a shot.
Climbing up onto the desk and careful not to make a sound, the black dog waited. Hoping for a result soon. There was nothing more boring than waiting. This task in particular. It was like watching paint dry and a long process it was, as he was still not lucky enough to catch something. Perhaps the mushrooms weren't as appetizing as he originally thought?

Tybalt was about to call it quits, positive that trap making was not his calling, when he heard a sort of tap against the ground and a startled squeak. Sure it was one of the other students, he was about to go back to dozing off, when he noticed that the board of his own trap had fallen and that something sticking out from underneath it.
A tail.
"Oh... OH!" Hopping down from the desk, the black dog got closer to observe.
Well. His trap was capable of holding something. Unfortunately for the mouse, it wasn't big enough to hold all of it. The poor things tail was stuck under the plank of wood and right now, the black dog was only thankful he hadn't tried using one of the rocks to trap it inside instead. Though with the tail sticking out like it was, it was easy to grab hold of it, before lifting the plank of wood. Which thankfully stopped any escape it might have been planning.
"Caught one!" He called before taking it over their substitute teacher to see. The mouse now securely tucked in his hands with only it's tail poking out through his fingers.

That was what they had to do with the materials? Build a...mouse trap? LW frowned down at her materials, sitting on the floor next to her. How was she supposed to build something out of these? The two rocks would have to be support of some sort, as they would most likely hurt the mouse if they...err, fell on it. So these, she moved to sit next to one another with some space between them. Violet eyes glanced at the damn vine that had been tangled in her tail. And the wooden plank.
....What the hell could she do with those?! The frown on her face was probably cute, but the she-wolf was too lost in her concentration of figuring out how to combine all her materials. She set the plan on top of the rocks, like a mini bridge, shook her head and moved it so that it rested against them, forming a sort of barricade.
Quirking an eyebrow, she moved the rocks slightly farther apart and rested the plank vertically against them. Eyes lighting up, she grabbed the plank and tied one end with the vine before carefully placing the plank on top of the two rocks. With a tug, the plank fell against the rocks like a trap door. If a little most were to run through those rocks, she could block one side and reach down to snag it. Getting said mouse to run between the rocks was a different matter. LW just hoped it did that on it's own.

Trap built, LW moved carefully off the floor. She had enough extra length in the vine that the she-wolf was able to move a fair distance - basically from the front of her desk to the back, next to her chair - away to crouch down and wait to see if any little furry mouse would come running through. She was still concerned about how to make said mouse run through the rocks. But, so far, this was the best she had been able to come up with using the materials she had.
Frowning, she saw no mouse coming her way. Eyes flickering briefly around the room, she looked to see if anyone else was having success. A smile spread when she heard first Sparrow and then Tybalt claim success. Well, if they could catch one, clearly she could? Right? LW sighed inwardly.

Maybe she was too close? Or was it because she was in sight of the little critter? The she-wolf frowned once more and debated how to change this. Hadn't Tybalt gotten up on his desk? What if she moved to curl up in her chair and hold the vine intently while she waited for a mouse? Her tail swished behind her as she chewed on her lower lip in thought. Alright. It sounded like a good plan. And crouching on the floor didn't seem to be helping.
Carefully, so as not to pull too hard on the vine too early, LW pulled her chair out. She pulled her legs up and curled her tail around her feet as she continued to wait. But the longer she started to wait (and hope) the more dread she began to feel. Her luck was not the best, after all.

Tomoko looked at the two sticks and the rock she had, then at the mice, then at her 'materials' again, ears seeming to go through a series of motions as she considered things carefully, lips tightening. Hmmmm.
She looked at the sticks, looked at the rock, then looked at the sticks. It was obvious her brain was hurting about how to use her supplies. If the mushroom incident with Jove had proven anything, it was that Tomoko just had absolutely no survival skills. At all.
Which was probably why trapping made her headtilt all over the place.
With that, Tomoko set the two sticks on the floor and put the rock on top of them.
That was an effective trap, right?
... .....
Tomoko was probably going to need some help.

As a testament to Tomoko's 'wild animal' skills, she sat there, crouched on the floor.... right next to her 'trap' and staring at the mice expectantly. As though her being right there didn't make a difference in the least.
And in Tomoko's mind, it didn't! Clearly she was doing everything right by being right there and waiting for it.

It was probably painful to watch, the kitsune being oblivious to the ways of the trapper. She looked towards the professor, her ears swivelling, before she looked back to the trap, then at the mice. Another frown.
It was OK, she wasn't going to hurt them!
They could come over and ... ....
well...
it really was just Tomoko being a derp.
A derp all around. She would have floundered and died if she was left on her own. But she seemed to earnest to maybe learn something from the strange practice.
Even if she hadn't moved.
At all.

!!!!
Tomoko's ears perked up when it seemed like one of the strange mice-things came over to investigate her poorly made pile of stuff, her tails swishing as she reached down to pick it up delicately, making care to not pick it up by the tail.
The kitsune popped up immediately, moving over to the strange teacher and holding it out in front of her, ball of stars in her other arm.
"Look! Look!" she beamed, proud.
Proud that somehow her sad desu eyes had been more of a trap than her trap had been.

Junko stared at her materials. She stared, and stared, and stared. What was she supposed to do with a shell, a vine, and a plank of wood? She looked around for some kind of idea as to what to try.
Well...there was also that one method she'd seen on skelevision. She took the vine and tied one end of it around the plank, taking the plank and propping it up with part of the shell. One end of the shell was against the floor, the other held up by the wood. Junko then scoot back a bit and sat on the floor. She was just going to wait for the mice to come to her!
Sure enough, it wasn't long before a mouse came skittering to her trap. She gasped, tugging on the vine to pull the plank away and watched as the shell came down and fell upon the mouse. "I got one! I got one~!" She cheered, hurrying over to scoop up the mouse with the beetle shell and hurried to the teacher.

When Jove got back to the classroom, he thonked his beetle-bowl down on the desk and waited, ears perked, for the next instructions. And it was easy to see they had piqued his curiosity. All the little mice suddenly scuttling around the room had the pup wagging his tail happily.
He glanced over at the student next to him. Demi. Who did not look quite as enthusiastic about the project, he didn't even have anything gathered from outside! Jove frowned, and lugged his beetle shell over. He sat down on the floor, and set up the beetle shell resting against the other pup's foot. It formed a hollow cavern-like area, into which Jove promptly shoved the mushrooms.
Hey, if someone had been setting up a trap for him, that would have been the best bait. Why not for trapping a mouse?
He scooted back a couple feet, and watched intently with a stick ready to knock the shell off Demi's foot, in order to trap his mouse.

It was no lie that Damien really did not enjoy this sudden change of events. Not even the scurrying of mice made him feel any better about this class, considering the last class that had bugs in it and the horrific result of killing one of them.
He let his tail slump down to the ground and watched as the mice tried to run up his tail before he gave it a sharp flick, and the mice that rested on it went sailing across the room, feeling a smug feeling of accomplishment, however minor it was.
He watched blankly as Jove came over with his supplies, feeling a bit jealous at the boil's spoils, at least up until he rested the shell against his boot. Well, what's he up to? he mused while tilting his head at the smaller boil and keened at him, hoping for some sort of explanation.
And then widened his eyes as he caught on to what he boil was doing. "Well, if I have no supplies, I can do my part and physically be a part of the trap." he said behind a knowing grin to Jove, glad to be of some help to the project, as his tail could attest to the cause, swishing around and trying to sweep the mice closer to his foot trap.
Demi did peer at Jove and his determined face, while holding the stick and getting ready to spring the trap. If he had to, he'd kick the mice into the shell, he wouldn't let the foxfire down.

Jove's tail wagged briefly when Demi agreed to help out, and then went still as a mouse drew near. His determined face came out, ears perked so much they were almost touching at the tips, tongue sticking out in concentration. The little thing came close... Closer...
With a bark he lunged forward, and jabbed the shell with the stick, knocking it off Demi's foot and flat onto the ground. Hopefully with a mouse inside.

Demi's tail stopped in mid air as a little mouse came closer to inspect the glowing mushroom that Jove placed in there as bait, and it took to it surprisingly. And all of a sudden the little boil in a surge of hunter's instinct pounced and released the trap from his foot.
It almost brought a tear to his eye in pride that made his heart swell in respect.
And the scurrying mouse just had to evade the sealing lip before darting away. His frown could not be any deeper before he reset the shell back on his foot and picked up the stick from Jove's hands.
"Let me give it a shot." he said before another, or probably the same mouse, came back to inspect the glowing bait.
"HA!" he screamed out before stabbing at the shell with the stick to and then stepping with his other foot onto the shell to keep it closed, and he hoped that mouse didn't get stuck halfway in.

Jove frowned when his trap turned up nothing, and sat back on his haunches in an almost predatory fashion while Demi made an attempt. This time the taller boil had some success, and Jove's tail wagged at the sound of a little mouse rattling around inside.
He bounced over and nudged Demi's foot off the shell, lifting it up just enough to grab the mouse out from underneath. It seemed more docile once it was cupped in his hands, and he peered at the little thing with much delight. Look at what they caught!
With some unusual exuberance he waved his hand in the air to let the teacher know they had caught a mouse.
