Alfred woke up with a start as he heard Iggy yelling his name and flailing around the bed like someone possessed. He struggled to pin the other down. "IGGY! IGGY! It's just a dream! Calm down! I'm here! I'm here." He said in a slightly panicked tone...however in the back of of his mind Alfred was so happy. Iggy was crying and screaming for him in his sleep. That was...a rather big ego boost. The thought made him want to slap himself, so unheroic like, but still. It made his heart swell up with joy. He tried to kiss the tears away. "I won't leave iggy. I wont. I promise ya. I wont.

The blonde clutched at the cloth, pressing his face into and rubbing away the tears on his face. Green eyes flickered open, dazed and confused and still whimpering as a few tears slid down his face. Arthur looked up, holding his breath when he saw the blonde boy. Eyes widened as he raised a shaking hand, stroking the younger nation's face.
"Who....Who are you?"

Alfred could not find words. He gaped like a fish for a few seconds before managing a sentence, "I-I-I-Iggy. D-Don't play with me like that. Please don't play with me. This isn't funny. I'm Alfred. You raised me! remember?" This time it was his turn to cry. Tears slid down his face. "Yo-You forgot me..."

"Alfred....?" The man kept staring, racking his brain for memories. The boy was older....He had raised him is what his sun had told him. But no memories came to mind. His thumb traced over his cheek, wiping away the tears as he sat up, pulling the younger boy into a hug, stroking his back.
"Shhh....It's okay pet....I am sure I know you, I just cannot recall." the blonde mused, resting his chin on one of the child's shoulders. He did know him, he was the boy from his dream, but other than that, he was drawing blanks.

Alfred sobbed even harder. "I'm...I'm not a pet." He wailed loudly and clung to iggy. "You don't want me anymore! That's why you forgot me! You said you wouldn't forget me! You said you wouldn't!" This hurt even more than the rejection. "We fought the German's together! Side by side! You don't remember that?!"

The Brit shut his eyes and tried to bring up memories of that. He...He could remember clearly fighting the Germans, but no image of the boy showed up. Not a one. His eyes flashed open and the blonde frowned, hugging the child tighter. How could he forget this person? This one that cried for him to remember. It almost hurt knowing he let this boy down, his little sun was darkening.
"I'm sorry Alfred...." he whispered, stroking the gold hair.

"No your not! If you were you would remember me your ******** British prat!" He sobbed even louder. By now even japan could probably hear him crying. "Your always hurting me iggy! Always. Emotionally, physically. I can't handle this abuse. I just can't." He pushed away from the other and curled up under the blankets to continue his pity party.

The blonde stared at the shaking figure for a while, pulling his knees up to his chest so he could rest his chin on them. Why couldn't he remember this child who felt so strongly about him? Had he forgotten on purpose? For some kind of reason? Why would he want to forget those eyes that stretched on forever, like his never ending ocean or the boundless skies? Arthur nibbled on his lower lip, urging his mind to recall something, anything, that had Alfred in it. All he could find was the dream, the one where the younger had vanished and left him crying and alone.
"Alfred, do you hate me?"

He was silent for a long time as he tried to quiet himself down. In between sobs he muttered a, "N-N-No. But you h-h-hate me." He said sadly. In the end he really only was a piece of land. "You hate me because i like being free, going where i want to go. If you let me wander i would always come back...but you never believed me."

"That means I worry about you, everyone gets scared, Alfred. It sounds like I was scared something might happen, a person can only control so much. You....You might have come back, but what if something happened that was out of your control?" He looked down at the boy, frowning deeply. There was no way he could hate this child, no possible way in the world. It was human nature to try and hide the things you held dear, keeping them from the cruelties of the outside. He had been protective, but why that was such a bad thing to Alfred was unknown to the Brit.

"But you pushed me away when i said i wanted to be with you...like a lover...You said it on my birthday in such a cruel way. Which hurt so much. I like Iggy the person. Not England the country." He said into the pillow. His voice now a little more even.

"Maybe I was scared." Arthur stated, still staring at the blonde. He was focused on the hair color, but was also noting how broad and strong he was. The child in his dream had grown up to be so large. It made him happy, proud? But sad at the same time. If it was true and he had been protecting Alfred, maybe he was still in that mind set...That he was a protector, a guardian, and nothing else.

"Maybe you shouldn't be. My economy is the largest in the world. I'm the one who wins wars. Not losses them." He boasted a little too proudly. "I can handle almost anything. Please. Just...Just be my lover." He said now looking up with determined eyes.

Arthur stared back, eyes solemn and quiet. How could he be such a thing when ever fiber of his body yearned to protect the child? It would be scary to do both, knowing that at any moment, he could hurt Alfred more than any weapon in the world. The thought of the boy crying over something he had done or said sent a shrill of fear up his spin, killing all breath for a moment.The blonde moved on the bed until his face was hovering just inches from Alfred's, staring into those endless eyes. England rested his forehead on the other's and exhaled a soft sigh.
"What if it hurts you? Hadn't you said...That I hurt you?"

"It would hurt a lot less than you rejecting me even when you can't remember jack s**t about anything!" Alfred snorted and leaned in and caught England's bottom lip between his teeth, "Say yes or i ravish your mouth." Alfred said playfully. W-Was iggy gonna say yes? It seemed like he was! It really seemed like he was!
