Aaron Travels ||Level One||Devil's Rhapsody||Ki Reserve: 350|| Aaron's mouth watered at the thought of the McDonald's meal. "I wish I did have one of those, but I couldn't promise you I'd give it to you if I did." Aaron smiled at the man. "I guess you've kinda got me stumped. I don't really know why I want you to teach me, and I don't suppose there's a terribly grand reason why you should want me to, either." Hot Shot looked over at Aaron, confused. "But I guess, since I'm here, may as well?" Aaron shrugged. "I think you're right about that whole 'living for today' thing. I like that. Would you teach me, sir? I would appreciate it. If not, do you want to at least be friends? I think I would like that just as much."

"So you're a man of convenience. I like that." Arete replied to his shrug as he started playing another song. He hummed the lyrics as Aaron continued to speak. The tune would probably sound familiar to the boy, somehow. Then Arete spoke up, and the wind picked up around them. A gentle breeze rushed past, rustling the flowers and tall grass around them when Arete glanced up from his guitar. "A gentle soul who enjoys my philosophy and taste in food, who seeks convenience. Hmm..." The golden-haired young man grew a bright smile and took his hand off of his instrument to offer a handshake to his newest student. Miraculously, his guitar continued to play the notes all by itself. "Yes, I think we'll become good friends."

||Level One||Devil's Rhapsody||Ki Reserve: 350|| Aaron smiled, immediately recognizing the song. Aaron extended his hand and shook Arete's, happy to have made a new friend. Even heroes have the right to dream, he sang in his head. Hot Shot nodded and began to strum along to the song. Aaron sat back and did the same, humming along with Arete.

||Level One||Devil's Rhapsody||Ki Reserve: 350|| Aaron stood up and reached backwards to stretch his back. His spine popped in a few places, showing how stiff he had gotten since he first sat down. "Kinetic energy? Isn't that like when you're moving?" Aaron found himself wondering if this was another one of those Gene-X styles. He really wished that he knew more about them. He was getting tired of feeling so dumb all of the time. He knew he had learned things in his life, but nothing ever really seemed to come of it. "What do you think, Arete?" The muse looked up from his guitar, just as a girl came screaming out of the jungle. She was wearing a pair of headphones that were plugged into a laptop she carried under her arm. "ALEXANDER! You stupid sunovabitch!" Aaron looked really concerned for his safety, but the girl darted right past him and grabbed Hot Shot by the hair. "How dare you just leave me at the docks? It took me forever to find you out here!""Get off'a me you crazy bytch!" Hot Shot--or Alexander--twisted beneath himself and swept his feet beneath the girl. She caught herself and did a flip backwards. She stood, arms crossed, waiting for an explanation. "Uh, Arrow. Allow me to introduce you to my--uh...girlfriend. Del."The girl looked like she was normally quiet and reserved. Aaron would never have guessed that the two were an item. He looked at them both, slightly astonished. Arete looked fairly amused, he noticed. Aaron was concerned though at Yue's expression. It was almost as though Yue didn't even notice the girl come screaming in like that. . .

Arete raised an eyebrow at Yue, wondering just why this guy was asking him for all this help. He hardly looked like he needed it. "Uhhh sorry, but I don't know much about that style. You'd be better off asking someone at the campus dojo, I bet. As for your bow and arrow...I never said those would be free." The Muse grew a greedy kinda smile and strummed a few more notes on his guitar before glancing over at his new student. "Ah...a new one appears..."

||Level One||Devil's Rhapsody||Ki Reserve: 350|| Del looked at Arete and bowed quickly. Then she dragged Hot Shot off a bit to talk to him. Aaron looked over at Yue. "There was a rather nice teacher in the classroom, too. He lead me to Arete here. I bet he could assist you, too!"

Arete nodded at Aaron's suggestion. "Oh, true that. I know Arthur can be a little...difficult, but he's a good man. Just show him you're interested and I'm sure he'll help you." He smiled at Yue, but Cheshire just rolled his eyes and continued napping. "Oh!" Arete suddenly exclaimed and placed his hand on the strings, stopping the song he was playing almost immediately as he snapped his head over at Aaron. "Speaking of training, how much have you had? Do you know how to use your Ki with your instrument yet?"

Arete blinked. Did this kid really not know!? "Well uhh...Ki is...umm...uhhhh..." The blonde man stammered, he'd never had to explain this to someone before. He absentmindedly strummed a few guitar strings to help jog his mind. "Well...Ki goes by many names. Practically all cultures across the world, throughout history, have had some name for it. Whether it be chi, chakra, ki, mantra, mana, the soul, it all refers to some psychic force present in all living things. For the sake of consistency we, that is everybody in Ludus, refers to this force as Ki. Now, normally these forces are very minute in people, practically invisible for all intents and purposes, but with that Gene-X injection your DNA has been altered on a molecular level to increase the level of Ki present in your body, as well as allow it to be more easily accessed." Arete took a deep breath after his explanation and fell over on the soft grass out of near exhaustion. "Its...complicated, but that basically all you need to know."
