"There is always a yin to every yang."
Wyvern Lord of Frelia

Cormag nodded, "Yes, sworn Wyvern Lord of Frelia...former general of Grado. My name is Cormag." He smiled and extended his hand through the bars to shake the man's hand, ignoring the electricity running through his muscles. Those bars must have been enchanted by some magic to keep them from resisting or escaping, but it didn't seem to be entirely strong enough to stop the strongest of warriors. "You seem...hm...are you a native of Rausten? Your accent reminds me of a certain eccentric princess I once traveled with." Laughing and then frowning, he moved on to the problem at hand.

"It seems that I'm not the only one from Magvel taken here, though I do not quite remember how. Something about a door...it's quite a blur, due in no small part to the blow I had taken to the back of my head." He took another look around the dingy prison and merely frowned, "Could be worse, I suppose...Grado's prison is much less...clean."

- Kierkess Renvald -

Kierkess suddenly adopted a facial expression that one might have when they'd just been socked in the stomach as Cormag introduced himself as a Wyvern Lord of Grado. Never mind the fact that a person of his standing was in a cell block adorned with other various men of dissimilar social backgrounds...if this man really was from Grado, then that meant that wherever they were imprisoned was, in fact, not in Grado! Through process of elimination for all the kingdoms of Magvel, that meant there were very few hostile places left in the world that would have the resources, soldiers, and even the will to do such a thing as imprison random people that knowingly or unknowingly trespassed on their land.User Image

That nagging question of where in the name of all that is sacred they were pounded in his head once more, thinking Jehanna to be the only other place this could possibly be. Then again, Jehanna had just lost a ruler and probably was not in the mood (like many other regions of Magvel) to commit such outrageous travesties as this. And, somehow, it didn't feel correct to assign a name of any of the places on the world map to wherever they were right. The troops, the overall feel of this place...none of it was familiar to him. And that was a bit frightening, truth be told.

Kierkess noticed a hand offered out to him, but smirked in a sort of hopeless kind of way. There was no possible way for him to reach that extended hand - besides, the last time he gripped those bars, he'd singed his hands a bit. However, he would have refused the handshake anyway given what this Cormag said right afterwards. His face suddenly went red with anger to match his hair and he shook his finger at the offending wyvern rider whilst struggling to find the proper words to convey his feelings. "You...you...you dare insult my Princess L'Arachel?" growled Kierkess in a displeased but subdued tone. He didn't want to alert the guard with any unecessary noise, but he did feel it necessary to see that his adjacent prison-buddy knew that the house of Rausten was to be respected at all times if brought up in conversation.

...Even if what was said about it was true. Anyway, he'd indirectly answered Cormag's question with his little outburst - yes, he was a knight of Rausten and wanted to express how loyal he was to it every chance he could get. After hearing Cormag go on, though, Kierkess calmed himself down and took in the information. "...I was so rudely accosted by the soldiers myself after having arrived here through a doorway of sorts. I suppose they, at least, were kind enough to only disarm and shackle me instead of bludgeoning me over the head some way or another," mused Kierkess, taking a strange comfort in the fact that someone else had been treated worse than him in being imprisoned here.

Cormag laughed at the outburst, stepping away from the bars. "Yes, you must be a loyal knight! You remind me of Kyle, Knight of Renais. Stayed in his knightly duties no matter the troubles. You are a good soldier, then. And I meant no offense, after spending months with Lady L'Arachel...we became friends. So much royalty in my presence then..." He sighed, recounting the number of royal family members he had met. Ephraim and Eirika of Renais, Joshua of Jehenna, Lyon of Grado, L'Arachel of Rausten, and finally Innes and...Tana! He missed the princess dearly, he prayed for her safety silently before returning to the conversation at hand.

He nodded, "You did indeed get off lucky with no beating! But I'm curious..." He dropped his voice down and moved as closely to the bars as he could comfortably. "Any ideas on how to escape from here? I've not had much of a chance, but the security seems to be extremely lax...like they're hardly even caring that we're here."

- Kierkess Renvald -

Kierkess sighed and nodded, silently accepting the somewhat indirect apology. He knew a proper knight wouldn't react with such venom in their tone as he did, but he excused it to himself by figuring that he was just on edge and tired from this whole blasted affair. Besides, the princess allegedly had made 'friends' with this person. Kierkess assumed that meant L'Arachel fought alongside him in the time that she and the Renais twins had led their little party over to Rausten and onward, so he supposed this Cormag was an okay enough person.User Image

As for escape, Kierkess scoffed and felt up the cement part of the cell next to the bars. "Escape, he says...well, we have no tools and these cells are generic but fulfilling their designed purpose. I'd say our best chances lie with some high-ranked fool realizing the gross injustice of this situation and releasing us with an apology and some coin in exchange for the trouble. As the misguided conduct of the people in this place tells me thus far, I think it unlikely for such a thing to happen."

Cormag grinned, "Ah, such high hopes...I am with you on the fact that the guards or officials will find nothing to help us. No, I believe that there will be a revolution in this prison soon. Everyone here seems to be quite skilled...someone with the...eh...appropriate skills will act soon. Who that may be, I am not sure." He instantly thought of the young thief, Colm. He sorely wished that he was here, if anyone could pick the locks here...it would be him.

Yawning, he looked to the man with the fiery red hair. He still didn't know the man's name, but that wasn't too serious an issue...many knights liked to keep their identity in private. "So, what kind of knight were you in Rausten?"

"Revolution, hmm?" murmured Kierkess, skeptical but taking a peek into the other cells he could see all the same. There weren't really too many hopeful looking faces from what he could see - which was to expected, of course. Hell, some of these people might be from this land and even have the good fortune of knowing what the situation was. User Image

Sighing, Kierkess turned back to Cormag and answered his question. "Well, I believe I should just introduce myself properly in answering that. I am Kierkess Renvald, Cavalier of the Knights of Rausten...though I fear I may have misplaced my horse and my country in coming here."

User Image Chama looked at the Estarcian blankly for a minute and then smiled. "Oooh, yes, that sounds fine. The Commander did get what he wanted, hmmm, yes, alright." His eyes opened slightly. "It shall be done! They'll be out in no time."

He then started stroking his beard. "I'll just need to fill out out the forms for everyone, and then go over them, and I'm not very good at writing anymore or reading- eyesight, you know- so one of the guards will need to help me. Of course, I'll have to actually get a guard who can help me, which is harder than it may seem, hwueh ha! Oooh, and then we'll need duplicates for the record and the originals will need to be brought up to Vern, and he'll likely put them at the bottom of his list, and..." He kept rambling on and on, meandering into side stories now and then as he continued explaining the process it would take. He even lost his place a few times and picked up with things he had already said, but said it differently than he did before, suggesting that he didn't have what he was even saying anymore. And all through his mumbling, he started pacing and ended up getting quite close to the cell bars, where any random prisoner could get a hold of him with ease. "and, well, ultimately, it'll have to be approved by Commander Vern, but once that's taken care of, you're surely free to go, uwehheheh!"

Kione chuckled at the new prisoner's comment. "We're all just the same huh," he thought as he closed his eyes and drooped down his head. When you're stuck in a prison cell there really isn't much to do. All you can really do is possibly make conversation with cellmates around you or just idle around waiting for time to pass by or just sleep. "Might as well get a little rest," he whispered to himself.

His dozing off was suddenly interrupted when he suddenly heard a man scream for help. His head slowly lifted back up as he listened to a cry that someone was dying. Though soon the cries stopped and Kione was curious what happened. He slowly got up and slowly made his way towards the front of the cell where the purple haired man was residing. The summoner looked overt to the direction of the screams and he could see a man near the cell of where the bird man resides, which he believes is called a Laguz according to information he has heard that float around.

"Is that man dead?" but of course the thought and idea was suddenly gone as the old man woke up from his slumber. It seems as though things were fine. Kione slowly dropped down to a sitting position in front of the cell as the old man slowly walked in front of his cell area. The weird old man stopped and faced the prison cell of the new prisoner and tried getting his attention.

So the old man's name turned out to be Chama...or Yourab Urden...Kione could easily see how the man said it wrong. "You're a burden, huh. Those guards sure are nice," the scholar felt a bit of pity for the man now that he thinks about it. At his age and his mentality he's wound up here. Though as least this man wasn't a bad person compared to the rest of the people that have locked them up here. On a side note however, he's glad they didn't know that he was a fugitive from that had escaped the asylum. But Kione is keeping his face covered fairly well anyways since it's dark, if anyone even knew he had escaped from there they wouldn't be able to recognize him.

Probably not going to go back to sleep anytime soon, Kione just listened to the conversation Chama had between Cyric. It turned out to be very interesting as the he suddenly asked to release everyone. That was something the man did not expect. Asking to release everyone? No one would be willing to do that, but then Kione realized this old man was different and was not the typical prison guard. Suddenly the man agreed to release everyone. This caught him off guard. Is he really going to free everyone in prison? But Chama continued talking and saying stuff about paperwork and signing. Why wasn't Kione surprised. Of course it was too good to be true.

Sigh...

A surge of pain suddenly shot through his head. "Ouch," he said as he grabbed his head. Whenever Kione had head pains it was usually when...oh no. His eyes widened as the pain increased. And with that Kione let out a scream that echoed across the place and surely caught the attention of Chama and all the prisoners. His scream stopped and the summoner dropped onto the floor.

He layed still until Chama walked up and looked at the scholar that was on the floor. Suddenly a hand shot up and grabbed the man by the beard, pulling his whole face down. As he was slowly getting back up on his feet, he kept his grip tight so the old man couldn't get out no matter how much he tried. "Do you really expect us to wait that whole ******* time just to be released?" he suddenly spoke as he stood up and pulled the old man's face close to the bars. Kione revealed one of his eyes and glared right into the eyes of the man. "That is ******* bull." Kione's Dark side has kicked in.

"Unlike, my 'other' self, I don't want to stay and rot here for the rest of my life." he said, not expecting Chama or anyone else to even understand what he meant by other self. "Listen, what we all want is to get out of here NOW! We're not going to wait for bull**** paperwork that is probably never even going to pass. So unlock this ******** doors before I get even more pissed off at you." Kione had his other hand around Chama's neck now. Unfortunately for the old man, this Kione had no pity for Chama at all.

User Image The old man continued to ramble and pace when a prisoner randomly shouted, causing Chama to release a startled shout of his own. He turned to the cell the screaming man was in and approached it. "Uwhuhe! That was good, I must say! I can't tell whether that got my heart pumping or stopped it completely, heh heh! Are you alr-"

His beard was suddenly grabbed by the man and he was jerked down. His back responded with a hasty crack. "Ohhhhh! Thank you lad, but I believe my back is better off when it's working, uweheheh!" The words spoken by the man didn't really enter the old man's head, instead he was more focused on trying to straighten himself out. Then the man grabbed his neck and Chama began to emit a mixture of chuckling and gagging. "Hack, no no boy, it's my back. My throat I use to breath through, easy mistake, uwehehack!"

"What is going on down here?!" An alarmed guard that had heard the shouting from before suddenly ran up and saw Chama in the grasp of the prisoner. He immediately sighed. "Again, old man...? Really?"

Chama laughed. "Ah, don't worry, don't worry... they're just playing!"

The guard rolled his eyes beneath his helmet and then looked at the prisoner. "Look, if you're going to kill him, just do it already and get him out of our hair. You won't find any keys on him, because we don't let him have any, and I could care less about him being used as a hostage, so just do as you please."

Chama waved his hand and chuckled. "Oh you~"

Yes, they did find each other and there was some sort of plan. Everyone seemed to be situated into their armor...except for Lena. However, he then started to make a plan. Maybe...yes this could work out somehow. Since she was the only one that couldn't handle the armor that well, she could be a prisoner that they captured. That way, they could get entry into the prison a whole lot easier.

He walked over to Lena, and looked into her eyes. In his, they showed trust and a good idea of what was gonna happen. "Don't be scared...we are going to have to take you captive for now. We need your staves and your tome, if you have one. You are gonna be a Learanian we captured so we can get into the prison."

Once she complied and handed her staves and tome to him, he placed them gently on the ground, then got out some restraints and tied them around her wrists gently. "Just to be careful." He said to reassure her. Once that had been done, he picked up her equipment and the group then started off towards the prison.

Once they reached the prison, he took one look around the place. Seems too easy to get in, but this should work. Looking over to the nearest guard, he shouted over to said person. "Found one of the Learanian idiots that were trapped inside! Gonna toss her in one of the cells!"

Out on the streets, soldiers passed by going about their business. They paid no heed to the soldiers escorting the captured girl. They were just doing their job, and that girl was just another prisoner.

The guard that was shouted at turned to the group and look the girl they had over. He lifted his chin and moved her head around to get a better look at her and then grinned. "That's a nice piece of a** you're bringin' in." He released the girl and then waved his hand to the dark mages. "Go ahead." The barrier then subsided, allowing free entry into the prison. The guard let the group pass by him, but then turned around and shouted. "Hey!" He paused to let the soldiers turn. "...Don't forget to search her before you lock her up... closely." He chuckled and turned back to his post. Nothing more blocked the group's entryway. The Learanian's plan was so far successful.

Kione blinked after hearing Chama's response. "...what the ****? is this man all crazy in the head?" he thought as the old man stated that it was his back and not his throat. This man was completely oblivious in the situation he was in. "Maybe I should just put you out of your misery," he whispered as his fingers around the man's neck began to tighten.

He stopped when he suddenly heard a guard yell. "Damn it, looks like back up is already here." Luckily, an idea sparked in his mind. This old man could be used as a hostage against the soldier. However, Kione's plan went down the drain as the guard basically said that he didn't even care if the old man was dead nor did he even have keys.

Kione glared at the soldier knowing. He sighed freed the old man from his grip by tossing him towards the cell bars across the hall. "That's very disappointing," he said to the other soldier as he leaned against the wall adjacent to the front of the cell. His eyes looked at the soldier again to check for any other possible options. "Tch..." the soldier was smart enough to keep his distance unlike the pitiful old man. The summoner could even spot the keys dangling on the side of his waist, as if it was mocking him.

User Image "Uwoooh-- Ooooh ho ho!" As Chama hit the against the cell across from him, his back was suddenly unlocked. "Much better, much better! My goodness lad, you should take this up as a business, you work wonders, uweh heh..." He stretched his back out and sighed. "Hmm now then, what was I doing... hm yes..." He began to mumble lowly to himself.

The soldier didn't take his eyes off the prisoner who had grabbed Chama. "What a merciful prisoner." he mocked. "You know, you're lucky, summoner. Since summoning is a rare practice, we don't know much about it. We were going to bind your limbs and stick you in a separate cell from everyone. But the old man here knew enough to assure us you needed that tome you had to do anything. If it wasn't for him, you would have been shipped back to Mordache already with the other slaves we sent!"

"..."

The guard glanced over at Chama. "...What are you staring at? You shouldn't be roaming around, you've got a heap of papers at your desk to finish. Let's get going."

The guard came over and grabbed Chama's arm and escorted him away. "Alright, alright, sonny, calm down." he chuckled. "Youngsters, always in a hurry, huweh heh..." He continued hobbling down the hall, after giving one final glance back at Cyric. Along the way back to his office, he passed a group that was escorting what appeared to be a new prisoner; a fair young lady with red hair. Chama and the guard passed them without a word, but then he looked back. Those soldiers weren't behaving like the other ones. They didn't look at Chama like the others did. And, they certainly weren't handling the prisoner like the others would have. There was something very different about them. "..." Chama's eyes opened slightly. "...What a beautiful young lady." He turned back around and hobbled after his escort, apparently not noticing a thing.

The soldier that let them go through certainly seemed like he wanted to get a chance at Lena. Chances are that wouldn't happen anytime soon due to the way plans would work out. Besides, they were in the prison. That was a good sign that things were going well.

As they continued their way in the prison, they passed by another soldier who seemed to be escorting an old man. The old man seemed to be some sort of fool, but at least nothing was said to them. At least they weren't figured out as well. However, that guard they passed did have a set of keys, so someone would have to go back and get them.

Turning back to his group, once it was safe to talk, he said, "All right, we've gotten this far. All we have to do is find King Cyric and the other prisoners, get them out, find them weapons, then get to the one in charge here. Shouldn't be too hard, and if you run into any soldiers that aren't us...well we will probably have no choice but to fight. Any objections?"
