Mouth twitching into a frown and brows furrowing, the hunchback obediently handed it over, although confusion was written all over his face.

Barth smiled in a very wriggly sort of way. He considered the muscle for a moment, holding it with the tip of his claws, then very neatly bit it in half.

He swallowed the half in one gulp, like eating a snail, and nudged the remaining bit through the bars for the lepus.

"In case it's hungry," he explained.

A whine escaped Christof's throat, his hands trembling as he froze in mid re-stitch of his lips at the sudden phantom sensation as he visibly winced.

....

Demons.

He still wasn't quite sure he understood the purpose of "snacks."

The Lepus, though, snatched the leftover tidbit with a ferocious appetite.

Calder had eaten a lot of things in his time. Fingers, flesh, every sort of organ (aside from hearts and livers), and even brains. A tongue was not something he should be surprised to see eaten. It was just that every time he ate a body part, that body had been dead. Once dead and butchered, it resembled dinner more than it resembled a person. It was entirely different for the owner of whatever you were eating to be neck to you, especially if said person was your friend.

Somehow the simple action of just eating a tongue had became more intimate, and Calder pressed his lips tightly not to say a word. He FOUGHT with himself not to say it, and then he lost it. "So.....you don't mind Christof's tongue in your mouth." Okay, it had to be said. HAD TO!

If Malodore could have made a o_O face at Barth, it would have... alas, the mask did not allow for such a thing, so it simply tilted its head ever so slightly to one side. "Ah."

"It's...err. He was borrowing it. Temporarily. From me." Barth watched as the lepus either attacked or ate the remaining tongue. He was going to assume ate.

Barth cleared his throat. "Well. Right. Power outages. Err, disperse if you like, or stick around, it doesn't make a difference to me. Um, except Calder. If you wanted to finish from earlier, I wouldn't say no. I'm still damp, anyway. ...If you can manage with the current lighting situation."

Overall, Christof DID mind having Barth's tongue in his mouth, honestly. It was vinegary and stiff and why did he have to EAT IT what was WRONG with him?

He turned his back to hide his flush and stitch a bit quicker. The Lepus ripping the other half apart wasn't so great, but by then the general fear-powered feelings of connection had thankfully numbed.

Mostly.

He swallowed carefully. His mouth felt oddly empty and awkward.

At least having eaten something more substantial than Kelpie or Plague Doctor fingers, Firth had quieted down a bit, content to loom in the back of it's cage with a look of grave intent.

Calder wanted to keep poking at it to see if he could make Barth say a couple more 'errs', but was completely overjoyed at the offer to continue the hornicure. "REALLY?!" Okay, a bit too loud there. "I mean....I don't have anything else to do and.... I'm not tired." He tried to play it off, but like most things, had little success.

He wondered what everyone else would do. He hadn't really gotten to hang with them at all before like this, and now that everyone was here, he didn't want it to just end. It might be a long time before another experiment came along and if Christof was feeling guilty now, he would probably invite Riley to the next one. This was the first time all the boils were just hanging out.

Then an idea struck him as lightening cracked. "A slumber party. We should have one! Like, right now! Firth is already captured. We can help Barth clean up a bit, and then just crash here."

"I should go back to my room, alas," Malodore said. "Luce will be waiting for me, if nothing else..." It also wanted to check on Riley, but left that unsaid. "But it was an excellent experiment. Might I return in a few days to check on the specimen?" It nodded to Christof.

Christof glanced over the to plague doctor, nodding hurriedly once his mind caught up and understood what was being said. He jumped suddenly with a thought before grabbing a scrap of paper and a pencil from the bench and crouched by the candle light to scribble something quickly before handing the paper to the Plague Doctor.

Been learning "Sign Language". Calder has a book he is obviously not reading you could prb. borrow.

"Sign language? Ah... yes, using gestures to communicate? Probably better than, ah... utilizing Barth's snack food." It glanced at the sloth demon again; it knew that various species had different eating habits, but that had been rather startling even to the plague doctor's sensibilities! "I would be delighted to learn, if Calder would loan me the book."
PostPosted: Sat Apr 30, 2011 10:55 pm

"Really. ...Anyone's welcome to stay. If they like. Or come back later. As far as I'm concerned." Barth preferred Christof's speaking, but the sign language would certainly be more convenient than charades. He was a slow reader, but had been making plodding, gradual progress. And speaking of scientific progress...

"Also, Christof, if you're planning on taking care of certain...incriminating electrical evidence before anyone investigates...please take the dishwashing gloves from the kitchen, this time."

Barth slumped tiredly backwards onto the couch.

He'd have some unwiring of his own to do. Not now, obviously. Later. Probably.

"Oh...yeah. You can borrow it." Borrow, cause he was still reading it. Luckily he hadn't seen what Christof wrote to know the Igor might be doubting if Calder was reading it at all. Still, if Malodore wanted to learn too, then the more the merrier and that also meant it would be easier for them all to learn with everyone using the same sign language together.

While everyone else seemed busy, Calder stayed put. "Okay Mal. Um...I'd say don't catch your death out there but I guess you'll be fine. I'll bring the book over sometime." He also glanced at the Plague Doctor's back blades. "Be careful with your ...metal parts." He had no idea what they even were for but he knew what lightening liked.

Turning, he looked at Barth. The boil seemed ready to nap, though either way, Calder could still go back to finishing his horn filing and moving on the polishing. "You going to be okay, Christof? You should over that cage so the little guy doesn't get wet if you're going out." Christof might be okay in the rain, but he wasn't so sure about the little lepus.

"Hrmm!" Christof's eyes widened. The wires!! They were still running from Barth's dorm all the way up to the roof! It had already been too long, people were going to NOTICE- They might just blame the power out on the storm itself but *you never knew* and any moment someone could-

He bolted towards the door, but stopped to U-turn into a workbench. Hissing in the darkness, he wobbled blindly out of it's way to the kitchen for the rubber cleaning gloves before groping to detach the wires as quickly as he could. Gloves on.

He'd sort out the Lepus shortly- for now he needed to cover the evidence.

He had been prepared for this. The shovel lay stashed just outside in an overhang out of the rain.

He was good at covering evidence.

Malodore blinked as Christof tore out of the room, though it was grateful that this time someone had thought about insulators. "Grazie, Calder. I will take care. It looks like the lightning has drawn away, perhaps..."

Well. Since Christof had opened the door... it bowed to those present, cordially. "A pleasure, gentlemen. I look forward to our future endeavors."

That said, Malodore let itself out into the hallway. It lingered a moment at Riley's door, but couldn't feel her within... she wasn't there. It sighed softly, then shook its head and padded down the hallway towards the soggy, damp outside world.
