E-12 was shooting a death glare at B-7 for the words he had for E-3 when suddenly the figure’s voice reappeared. And then the door just ... opened. Just like that. E-12’s foot throbbed in protest.
The disembodied words, those were something else. He said they had to stay until the contract was terminated. Was walking through the door the conclusion of the contract? He said they would learn everything. Like, everything? The meaning of life? All of the digits of pi? Or simply everything about their lives that lead up to their arrival on the island? That last one seemed the most likely, but was honestly the one that scared E-12 the most.
I wouldn’t be E-12 anymore. I’d be someone else. I’d be a person who agreed to come to an island to murder other people. Maybe I’d already be a murderer.
E-12 didn’t want to return to that existence. It was unknown and probably terrible. Besides, the figure never said they would return to life, only that they would learn everything and that they would be freed from everything. As much as she disliked the idea of spending much more time in a crowded lounge with people she was none too fond of, she disliked the idea of the end of the road even more.
She turned to look for E-3 and the other Epsilon team members. Suddenly the room became even more crowded. One by one new people started arriving. Oh god, what was happening on the island? Another board game? The thought of it disgusted E-12.
“I don’t want to go yet,” E-12 said to the other Epsilon members. “I want to see everyone again, one more ti-“
The words froze in E-12’s throat at the arrival of the newest newly dead. It was E-13! She was a little sad at the realization that he’d survived their Minesweeper trap, only to fall prey to something else. E-4’s words perfectly expressed the thoughts she was having. What had taken E-13 out?
“Uh, hey E-13. Long time no see.”
As much as it saddened E-12 to realize her teammates, her friends, were being picked off, she was also so happy to have everyone back together again.

He didn't understand it, not then, not now, maybe never as far as he knew. Why put them through all these tasks just to trap everyone in this limbo and then simply offer them a chance at everything that was taken away from them. No deal. No test. Just open the door and walk through. It was just all too easy for E8's taste, and that is what kept him so hesitant to take a step closer. He just didn't trust the deal, and would not until he knew it was safe.
'But it's a chance to get my memory back. I could figure out who I am...'
It was tempting, but besides his fear of the deal going wrong, or being a trick, something else was holding him back. As much as he might have hated it, no matter how much he stood up for them, he wanted to at least wait and see if any of his other team members would show. He wanted a chance to say good-bye, again, and wish them well when their own time came.
'Heh, at least if they are here I won't have to worry about them dying...I hope."
Chuckling to himself, E8 watched at B8 took a step through the door. There was no screams of horror. The door did not slam. He just vanished in to the darkness. It was good so far, but still. No wait, there came the screams. The screams of...well he didn't know who...
Turning, he blinked at the sight of, yet again, more dead people showing up. He could only guess that whatever was going on in the living world was picking up again. When he arrived there were barely a handful of people, and he guessed only 1 or 2 died at a time, but now 3 or more... Whomever was in charge must be having fun.
With a roll of his eyes, E8 turned his attention back to the door, that is until he heard a familiar voice in the room.
"E13?" he said as he turned around and scanned the room, his gaze locking on the other guy. "What the hell! You're supposed to be down there kicking a**, not having your a** kicked! We expected you to stay alive until the end. Damn it, E4 isn't going to be happy when she sees you...."

Gamma One had listened to the voice from behind the door speak in an almost detached manner, as if she had closed off. There was no going back, no helping the team members that she'd left behind when she had answered that text. No way of telling Gamma Eight that she'd gone because she had wanted to secure a pendant so that at least one of their little group might get out of this alive. No, she'd gained someone's trust and now the woman would always think that she'd abandoned them.
She looked down at the floor, trying to imagine how she would explain herself if Gamma Eight and Twelve showed up. If they did, it meant they too had died, and all because their medic had been a fool and left them. She couldn't face them, she just couldn't. She didn't want the guilt on top of everything - couldn't face the looks. She stood from where she had seated herself after trying the door and walked past all the people from different teams, not stopping or looking at any.
At the open door she stopped, trying to see into the darkness. She couldn't. This was it. She either stepped forward now, or she would be here forever because if she waited and Eight and Twelve showed up she would consider this place her punishment and choose to stay. One deep breath. And another. Gamma One exhaled and stepped through the door..
(( Gamma One is concluded ))

Expected to live.
Luck ran out.
Supposed to stay alive until the end.
The reactions of the dead guys around him confirmed what his sinking stomach was already telling him.
And he hadn't even gotten to keep his ********>" E-13 exploded, punching his boot through several innocent barstools before turning to assault the lounge couch.

“E-13! Stop!” E-12 ran over to her comrade, but kept her distance. Even in half-death, a barstool would probably hurt. “I understand what you’re feeling but it’s-“ It’s what, exactly? It’s not okay. E-12 went silent for a moment, fighting different emotions that were bubbling to the surface.
“We failed. All of us did. We never should have responded to that stupid text. Our teamwork was our greatest asset and without us, Epsilon is weak.” E-12 looked around at her teammates. Every single one of them had failed in some way or another. But then, so had everyone else in the room. Some had made it back to life only to fail a second time. “I don’t think the point of the game is to live. They set us up. I don’t think that thirteen people will make it to the seventh day. These people are too sick for that.”
If it was a fair game they would all still be alive. The point was to kill each other and to survive until the last day, not fall victim to a demon horse or a giant booby trapped game. E-12 couldn’t remember signing up for this, she couldn’t remember what had possessed her to agree to their twisted terms, but she was certain that she never would have if she’d known it would be like this.

"You, You and You." He pointed at E-4, B-7 and G-2 respectively. "Stop ruining my parade! There were more ladies in that group, you know." Gamma Seven sighed dramatically, folding his arms across his chest. "And yes I had a pendant, the horse gave it to me, I pretended to lose it, and yeah I did hide it there, Gloves and Boots are too obvious and I can't exactly have it around my neck." That was like painting a nice red bullseye on his chest! "I have plenty balls, and you're more than welcome to confirm." He offered Beta Seven, the grin they couldn't see very much present in his voice.
He'd been about to big Gamma One farewell and sit down when one of the more recent Lounge inhabitants, E-13 apparently, decided to attack the couch.
"HOLY s**t DUDE CALM DOWN!" He cried, leaping away from the couch instead. "I think you need to take a trip through that door, dude." Not only would it get the violent psycho away from them, but it'd probably distract him from dying. You know, all those lost memories and such.
"I'ma agree with her." He said a little belatedly, gesturing to E-12. "Then again, we all signed up for this, right? Or so they said; if that was true we must have known we'd likely die..."

"Why!" he roared. "This piece of furniture a friend of yours! It's not a friend of mine! Nobody is, I was just trying to win this SHITTY GAME AND THERE WERE ONLY THREE DAYS TO GO AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A CAKE WALK UNTIL THEY SENT OUT THAT GODDAMN TEXT!"
He flipped a table and stomped on a fancy looking lamp for good measure.
"FAILURE MY a**!"
Even with the text he thought he'd had everything under control!
What the hell had happened?

[Entering from Last Man Standing]
"Take it. I don't want it."
E-1 blinked. Something was wrong. She was holding out her hand, she was going to give the pendant to G3. Her arm was stretched out before her, but there was no pendant in her hand. And as she focused on her surroundings, she realized she wasn't in the elevator-small room. No blood, no smashed chairs, or big glowing scythe. This place actually looked... nice? Except that E-13 was currently destroying the furniture.
Wait. E-13? Wasn't he dead?
Does. Not. Compute.

Shrugging at yVII, he just grinned quietly behind the mask. He didn't really care that the pendant had been hidden. If anything, he found it to be rather clever that he pretended to drop the darn thing.
Watching as yI went to make her exit, he jumped as one of the others suddenly started to freak out.
"Woah! Calm down!" he said while scooting away from the guy as he flipped a table and broke the lamp, "Trashing the damn room isn't going to bring you back."
And another person entered the scene. Ok. Something definitely was happening right now for all these people to be dying at once. yII just didn't know what that was.

By this point Fiver had just sort of ... relaxed into his spot on the couch, not even blinking when more people from the stupid game started showing up. He could've told them that would happen. Just because the three of them were the first, it didn't mean they would be the last. It seemed like every single task set them on this damn island was a death trap.
Well, he was done with it now. Offering a small wave - and no words at all - to the new arrivals (if they chose to even notice), Fiver moved to put an arm around Fiver II, fingertips brushing Three's shoulder on the other side. It was kind of funny, really, how upset E-13 was. Didn't he get it? Probably none of them were going to survive from that room. Not after what they'd chosen to do. The cloaked figure had held the key to getting out. It should have been one death and done.
But now ... it was ... who even knew how many? There were probably still others waiting to show up in this place. Heh. Idiots.

"Good try, but that's not even a tempting offer," She was grinning though, at Gamma Two, behind her mask, "And nope. More guys in my group, although the other girl with me - Beta X - would be more interested in killing someone other than looting your dead body if the loot was not obvious. Ah, I wonder if any of them might be joining us soon."
She then looked on as E-13 approached the coach she was currently very comfortable on, before rolling her eyes, "CHILL. Seriously. Doing this won't bring you back to live. Deal with it. We all died... You don't get pity points for dying later than us, although I did wager that you would last longer..."
She then paused, narrowing her eyes at E-13 as she leaned back against the back of the couch, "If so many of you are showing up, was there another task?"

“Yes, the couch is my friend,” E-12 rolled her eyes. E-13’s continuing rampage pissed her off. She was just trying to comfort him. And not his friend? Bullshit. “Calm the ******** down you a*****e! What makes you so special that you could live where the rest of us died? It was pure ******** luck that you made it out of that game. Did you honestly think you had some sort of brilliant strategy? Without the rest of us, your friends, you would have been dead a long time ago! Look how long you lasted without us. Yeah, that’s what I thought. Big ******** man thinks he can outsmart everyone else.”
E-12 turned away, her hands clenched tightly into fists and her breaths coming in heavily. Seriously, who did E-13 think he was? She stomped past E-1 without noticing her and went to stand next to E-3 again. God, if E-13 disliked their company so much he could just walk right through that doorway. E-12 would be happy to see him go.

Hold on! This wasn't just E-13! There was a veritable sea of pink in here! E-1 looked around frantically, noticing a lot of numbers that shouldn't have been there.
Then she heard it. We all died.
E-1's brain was overloaded, processing information at tortuously slow rates. So, everyone here had died. E-13 had died, and he was here. E-1 was here. E-1 + being here = E-1 had died.
Oh. There was that light feeling again. And here was a couch that E-13 hadn't attacked yet. Yes. E-1 took a seat with the intent to stay there until things started making sense again. She noticed she was sitting next to group of three that had been the first casualties in the room, not including the reaper. Though the reaper was nowhere to be seen. Fiver waved at her. She waved back.

"Well I'm sorry, I didn't know I was messing with your special couch friend that you were so attached to! No strategy? I sweet-talked the blues when I was next on the hit-list, I knew enough to wait when I could instead of stepping blindly out onto a mindfield, I had the sense to act pitiful when everyone in the room was gunning for my neck. You all keep calling me a dumbass but I've got a PhD... in...in...." He faltered, dropping on the couch unhappily, feeling woozy.
"Kicking your a**," he finished, half-heartedly, like a wind-up toy run out of wind.
He was quiet, and the next time he spoke, his voice was quieter.
"...Sorry. Figures death is as weird as everything else on this stupid island. And I still can't remember my name."
Another pause.
"I'll tell you what's happening in the land of the living, just give me a minute."
He looked up.
"Hi, E-1."

Gamma Three was just Gamma Three... for now.
"Eta 13!" She seemed rather jovial, and approached the boy with a hand lifted and ready for a high five, "I avenged the s**t out of you, dude."
