For awhile, Jericho was still unresponsive to everything around him. His golden eyes were wide and staring out into nothingness. The figure might have gone, but he was still lost in everything that had 'happened' before him. In fact, it wasn't until a piercing noise resonated through his mind that he gave a jerk, as if awakening with a start.

There was feeling in his body again. Someone's hand was at his shoulder, and someone else was embracing him at the same time. He was also being rocked lightly. It was comforting some... The dragon's vision came to focus and he could hear everyone around him once more.

"R-riley..?" he uttered when he realized who it was that held him. Glancing back a bit, he saw Aksaja there as well, who looked incredibly worried about him. Aside from that, he saw his own wing attached to him still, and it wasn't skeletal or disfigured.

"..I'm alive..?"

He sounded disoriented and unsure still, if not shaken. There was something particularly traumatizing about witnessing his own death and seeing his body in that state. It felt so much more real than the pixie-induced hallucination which felt more like a crazy dream than anything else.

Aksaja practically grinned at that, his grip tightening on the other dragon's shoulder. "Yea, you're alive. No matter what crap they showed you . . . it wasn't real," he confirmed. Then he met Riley's eyes over Jericho's shoulder and attempted to carefully project a thought at her. Because despite most of his focus being on Jericho, Aksaja had also noticed the plague doctor show up behind them, coughing as if he'd come through a fire or something.

Could plague doctors get sick . . . ? He didn't know, dammitall, but he did know that Riley had to be incredibly worried about it. So he'd take over here, now that it seemed like Jericho was 'awake' again.

All through the draconic looking boils seeming breakdown Mandy stayed silent, unwilling to speak up or get close unless something suddenly went wrong. From what people where shouting out it sounded like the fog was giving them visions? False visions at that.

Oh Thank Jack.

That voice, that voice. I-it hadn't been real. She'd know it couldn't be on an intellectual level but the emotions it evocoted allowed no room for reason but now she could finally push the last drudges of panic and sharp fear away.

She'd never have to see that ghoul again, she'd made sure of that.

Her solitude was broken though when Lizzy finally spotted her, bringing with her an alarming question. "Alwine?" she gasped out. Head darting around she finally registered that her precious ghoul friend was missing - how had she missed it!

Panic started to edge in on her vision again - who knew what that fog was doing to her. Eyes darting round she cautiously stepped closer to the grow needing the reashorence of numbers.

"I-I don't know, she hasn't come out yet." nibbling her lip in worry she grasped onto the idea of waiting that Lizzy presented, even if it was for another. "Yeah, let's wait, we all seem tk be coming out here and we don't want to leave them lost."

Lost. And alone.

And shudder went up her spine.

Riley's eyes shut firmly when she heard his name fall from Jericho's lips. Finally. She squeezed him tight and rested her forehead against his, sending waves of comfort to soothe him. Unfortunately, they were weak - it was hard to do something like that when you had no comfort of your own. Finally, her head jerked around and pleading eyes rested on the pink haired ghoul a ways off.

Lizzy. She sent in a private thought, with a voice that sounded like she was begging. Please. He shouldn't be left alone right now. Please.

She couldn't stand it any longer. She disentangled herself from Jericho, hoping that Lizzy would come and take her place immediately. She couldn't even wait to make sure she did so - her footfalls were immediate as she broke into a run. It was only a few hurried steps before she was on her knees again, but this time in front of a different person in need.

Her arms wrapped around Malodore, pulling it against her. What is it? What's wrong? Are you all right? The coughing worried her terribly, but it was a different kind of worry. It was the kind of worry that was flooded with relief at the same time. Malodore was in her arms again.

Finally.

Malodore flinched visibly away from Riley's touch at first - then collapsed into it, coughing weakly. Its chest burned from the unexpected activity, the sudden and violent use of muscles usually left untouched, but... with her voice in its mind, it felt like the cold was dissipating from its body. It was fairly sure it had purged the fog from its lungs at least. Alone, it sent to her - balled up with the word was a sense of being lost forever, of whispers in the dark, of suffocating silence then permeated by voices in the mind. In the place that had been its - and hers - alone.

It shook, slightly, in her grasp.

Ah good, he seemed to have snapped out of it. Sharra let out a breath he hadn't even realized he'd been holding. "Good to see you back indeed..." That to Jericho, as the dragon seemed to be more than a little shaken, though Aksaja appeared to have the situation well in hand. "Looks like these bastards are showing us visions and whatnot...I dunno what you saw but...it looks like so far it's been a load of crap..." Though there was definitely something out there...likely something dangerous.

They just couldn't let the hooded enemies win, scare them into submission or whatever it was they wanted. Sharra really wasn't at all fond of the idea that they might die out here.

Horses, why did it have to be horses? Why does it always have to be horses?

Or, you know, a cliff.

In her panic, Alwine's feet almost found themselves off the edge multiple times. But the horses were there, they would find her and they would take her to a bridge. If anything could make horses worse, it would be bridges.

With a twist that would have made a monster's ankle snap, one of Alwine's feet slipped off of the edge of the cliff. If she had been a touch more solid, she would have gone tumbling down. However, she fell straight down instead of sliding-- which left one leg dangling off the side of a cliff while the other had collapsed on the edge.

The fog was gone, and people were nearby. If the ghost had a physical heart, she would have been gasping for breath and letting its beats slow in its rhythm.

"Mandy..." Alwine whined while she lifted herself back up and started to walk towards the group. "Mandy, where are the horses? Have I lost them? They haven't attacked you, have they?"

And then as if she was summoned by her name like a demon, Alwine appeared. The relief that crashed over her was immense. Breaking from she ran back over to where the ghoul was getting up, happy to see that she too had not been taken by the cliff edge.

That's my ghoul.

Then Alwine actually started speaking and her words did nothing to quell a sudden disquiet in Mandy. It seemed she too had experienced something terrible in the fog that had rattled her, and there had been nothing Mandy could do to protect her.

Though... Horses? Pushing aside her curiosity she made the last few steps to the ghoul and took both her hands into hers. "M' fine, no horses here. No horses anywhere Winnie. Just fog, s'playing with out minds."

As she finished she gave the ghoul a reassuring hug to help settle both of them.

Her flood of relief at simply having Malodore safe and sound in her arms again was quickly waning when she began to assess it's condition. It wasn't immediately responding to her - in fact, it was still hunched over, clearly affected from whatever it had dealt with. Her hands started to shake, though they stilled as she froze the moment she finally received it's answer.

Alone. Lost. Suffocating. Violated. Riley's eyes fogged over and shined with moisture. Why did it have to suffer like this? Why did Jericho have to be made to suffer? Why did ANY of them?

GO! She finally screamed out to the ENTIRE group behind her, as she arched her back and turned her head. She had lifted her hand, and pointed angrily at the lighthouse. Don't you GET IT! Standing around here is only giving them to chance to do this to MORE of you! Do you want to go through that? She pointed at Jericho with a harsh snap of her finger. Stop dawdling and discussing and GET to that LIGHTHOUSE right NOW!

Her voice was far too high pitched, and loud, to have her normal confidence. She was desperate for everyone to get out of the vicinity as quickly - and safely - as possible.

She made no move to leave, however. Her arms stayed firmly around Malodore. She hadn't allowed her screaming throughts to enter it's mind, because she could tell it needed nothing but soothing comfort. Her head rested against the side of Malodore's, ignoring the way it pressed against it's hat, and she began to fill it's mind with her presence. Warmth, and an overpowering love, seeped into it's thoughts.

"W-Wha-?" Before she could even fully process Riley's request, however, she saw the mindflayer leave Jericho's side. Her eyes widened, and everything appeared to happen in slow motion for a good few seconds as she finally understood what had been asked of her. Did she sense her emotion? That horrible, horrible emotion? She didn't know what Riley can or cannot do, but the thought was enough to cause her to frown as she let Mac go, rushing to the dragon's side.

"I-I don't know what you saw or felt," She begun slowly, making sure to look him straight in his eyes, seeing him as that red dragon she saw him shift into months ago in her mind. He looked so confident then, speaking of defeating the reapers who had caused so much trouble for them in school - besides, seeing him as a dragon made it much easier to talk to him than seeing him as a boil, "But you're alive, and don't you doubt that... Remember what you told me during Scarentines."

The last part was said in a soft whisper; she was, of course, referring to the mysterious reapers that drained their FEAR.

"I hope you don't mind, but, uh," She paused, hesitating a little before throwing her arms around his neck and hugging him; he wasn't pulled to his full height, so she could do that. He was warm, like when he brought Amrita safely to shore during the shipwreck, keeping her safe - just like he promised. Her voice was still soft as she continued, "I know you'll keep your word from that time."

Ugh, she could feel herself blushing again.

Arachne was about to scream, about to start crying again when she finally stumbled from the fog, into the large group of students. It felt as if she had been alone in there for hours, and not just moments and it took her a moment to register everything - including the fact that they were all standing near the edge, where the land dropped away down towards vicious rocks.

'Oh...I'm out.' she murmured, and then let her shoulders droop, scanning the faces, pleased to see them all...Sepheran! She hurried over to the boil, actually hugging him and just stood there for a moment, immensely glad to have solid, visible people around here.

'The voices, and the fog.' she babbled for a moment.
'I thought I'd lost you all!'

As the warmth of Riley's projections permeated Malodore's mind, the plague doctor finally stopped shaking - it was as if she had chased away all the last clinging chill, the clammy dampness that had wrapped around it and made it suffocate.

... Metaphorically speaking.

"Grazie," it said, its voice barely a whisper. "Grazie mille. What is happening? How are you... and the others...?"

Aksaja flinched at Riley's sudden shouting into all of their heads, but she was right. Jackdammit, she was right. With a quick glance of apology to Lizzy, the lightning dragon put his hands under Jericho's arms, trying to haul the other up to his feet.

"She's right!" he called. "We need to get out of here. Maybe getting closer to the damn lighthouse will mean the fog goes away!" Wishful thinking probably, but it might get some of them moving.

These cloaked things were just picking them off one by one and feeding on them as if they were some kind of herd animals like this. It was unsettling and entirely undignified.

At Riley's 'GO', she stood still, a little stunned; she was right, of course, but... No, they have to regroup. They have to. Besides, being warm was nice- Oh whoops, she should let go now. Giving the red dragon a squeeze, she released him from the hug before looking at Aksaja, shaking her head at his glance; she was sure her face must be completely red by now.

"We made it out," She looked and sounded relieved at Arachne's timely arrival, but a little nervous; the fog had came and left suddenly... Who's to say it won't happen again? Looking at the lighthouse in the distance, she looked at those who had been travelling with her thus far, realizing that they were all there. Her tone was back to normal at least, and she didn't immediately cling onto Mac as she looked at everyone, "Shall we? If you see or feel anything odd, know that it is but a vision. Know what's real and what's not..."

Then again, if it had happened to her... She was sure she would collapse as Jericho did. If someone like him could fall...

She stayed still for a moment, looking at Aksaja and then at Jericho; he'll be cared for, right? He doesn't look too reliable, but... She frowned; she will kill that boil if anything happens to Jericho right now - that is, if Riley doesn't get to him first.

"Lets go then," She murmured, taking Mac's arm again and pulling him onto the path that presumably lead to the lighthouse.

She couldn't help it. The sound of it's voice, after having come so close to breaking down from worrying, and the film that covered her eyes finally turned to tears. She put her head down against Malodore's shoulder, so no one could see. We're a hot mess, that's what we are. She answered in stark honesty, though even her thoughts shook with emotion. Jericho just suffered a terrible hallucination, we don't even know what he saw but he's truly disturbed. Everything about this place is telling me we might be in real danger, Malodore. She lifted her head up, just slightly, and looked up at him. I know we went through a lot when we were brought to Christmastown. I was ready for a similar bout of turmoil when we reached this island. I really was. But this is different. I don't understand how the faculty could have brought us here, unless they didn't know.

And she found that to be highly unlikely.

She brushed her hands roughly over her face, and then leaned in to brush her cheek against it's beak in a much needed display of affection. She pulled away just slightly - though her arms remained around the plague doctor. We need to keep moving. Do you feel well enough to walk? If you don't, I will carry you. We can't stay here any longer.
