Scarlett waited for the impact. She closed her eyes, waiting. Second melted in to minutes and she still didn't feel Justin's fist. She opened her eyes and looked up at him, confusion in her gaze.

For some reason, Justin couldn't finish the fight. He had no idea what went through his own mind right now. Perhaps the reason was that if he killed her, he would probably never get a real challenge again. Maybe it was something else entirely. Suddenly, the lightning in his fist faded, and his powers backfired, shocking him until he passed out. The panthers went over to him, and Kamina the turtle teleported to his side.

"Justin! Justin?" Scarlett said, surprised that Justin had shocked himself. She knelled next to him, but Singer and the pack stayed back, watching. Scarlett didn't understand why she was concerned why he was hurt, but she didn't think too much on it as she checked him for serious wounds.

The panthers looked at Scarlett cautiously, but Kamina was only concerned for Justin. Justin had scorch marks on his face, chest, and arms.

Scarlett needed to get to a shelter where Justin could be hidden, one that was near water. She spoke to Singer and the panthers, asking if they knew of places such as that. Leader suggested a cave nearby that stood next to the river where she had bathed earlier.

The panthers nodded. The cave by the river seemed like the best idea. They began to walk to the river, while Kamina teleported away.

Scarlett gingerly got Justin on her back and followed the panthers. Once at the cave, she had Singer and the pack run to get something soft to lay the man down on. Once that was done, she soft lay him on the material, managing to get off his shirt. She folded it and got to her feet. Going to the river after pulling her empty water container out, she filled it and brought it back in to the cave. Bending some on to her hands, she let it coat them and the water glowed blue. Scarlett put her hands on Justin's chest and the water crawled over Justin's skin, healing his wounds.

The panthers saw Scarlett healing Justin, and the leader smiled at her. Justin's eyes slowly began to open, and he saw Scarlett's hands on his chest. "I'm tempted to make a joke about this, but I'm too busy being in pain." He joked.

Scarlett rolled her eyes some, "Just be quiet and let me heal you." She said, trying to sound bitter and uncaring, but a soft note coming in to her voice. She focused on healing Justin and when she was done, the water came back to her hands and stopped glowing. She pulled her hands from Justin's chest and let the water return to her water jug.

Justin stared up at Scarlett. "Why? I'm your enemy! Why heal me, when you know I could kill you?" He asked her.

"Even if we enemies, you don't deserve to die by shocking your own a**." Scarlett said, standing and giving Justin his shirt back. She went to the mouth of the cave to check and see if anyone was around.

Justin sighed. "I have no idea how that happened, but....thanks." He told her, putting his shirt back on.

Scarlett nodded, "Well, everyone has to survive for one thing or another, right?"

Justin nodded. He still couldn't believe Scarlett saved his life, though.

Scarlett was surprised even at her own actions. She was more surprised at the fat that Justin stopped his attack for he'd landed the finishing blow on her. the half demon vampire sighed and sat down, looking out over the forest. Singer and her pack had returned to their cave.
