Quintafeira12 One thing, the devs aren't going to check on how much items are costing at the end of the weekend, they're likely going to look at how much zOMG! gold was produced before, and see if it made a difference post-nerf.
Something that I've had trouble conveying to people a few times, I think; when users say "inflation", they're referring to the effect - high Marketplace costs. When the devs say "inflation", they're referring to the cause - too much gold. Unfortunately, Marketplace price tags have a lot more influences than just inflation, though, so the correlation between user-inflation and dev-inflation is sometimes nominal, at best. whee
That said, I agree that it should be waaaaaay too soon for there to be any kind of deflation happening. Where are my Artificial Deflation conspiracy theorists?

One of the topic is even called "Editing Gold?" which I'll assume is this retarded trick since I can't go check the thread without registering. Do people really fall for these sites? Oh god, either they're the most legit hackers all around who don't seem to care about a bunch of 12 year olds pestering them all the time if they go so far to get members (Protip: That doesn't exist) or I'm seeing a site dedicated to stealing accounts by having idiots register with their gaia account info.

Did you edit the "(tee)" and "(dot)" parts in, or did they get slightly smarter than a couple days ago when I got that PM? Also, it confirms my hypothesis that it is indeed a bulk mail template (if better written than most*) and not just a stupid/trying to be tricky user. *I actually haven't ever gotten a direct phishing PM, although I once encountered someone in VG trying to do so in chatting. I have gotten a lot of people promising cheats and mostly bots to milk the forums or other parts of gaia for gold - I wonder if any were for this site before they changed shady advertising techniques or something. Also, hey, the "referral link" and the "regular" link are the same? No /somestringofnumbers at the end to at least pretend to be a referral link specifically? That and the extreme template-ness of the PM makes me think it's probably not trying to work off of a pyramid scheme. Sounds like it's phishing for account info, with or without actual cheats going on inside. I mean, maybe if it has really good advertising, or entices people to download things with malware for something, it could be just trying to get people around for that.
