The wisp was still recovering from being on the floor from the last attack! He raised his arm, brushing a palm over the back of his head whilst leaning up to a sit when he felt someone take a hold of him and shout his name. With wide eyes, they took to the familiar voice and witch that it belonged to, offering her a wide smile. "Hey Bella. Y-yeah, I'm fine." He laughed a little, dusting himself off as he quickly looked over her to make sure she was ok. It was lucky the tree had taken the brunt of the attack. "Are you? I saw you were having a bit of um... Trouble over there." He put his hand on her arm as to be reassured when he realized - Oh right, they were having a nice conversation... whilst they were in the middle of some sort of battle field.

The taunts of the figure kept coming and with that came another wave of power, it lunged them all back to the ground again, one by one he saw the bodies hit the ground."Bella! Watch out-" He was quick to make sure Bella was pulled around so that he was the one to hit the floor first, so he could cushion her fall. This thing was hurting his friends, he couldn't stand not knowing what was going on although he thought he better do something to help them all at least this time. He gently moved Bella off to the side, moving a hand to her back to help pull her in to a sit, worried and concerned and a... Irritated that this thing had even attempted to hurt her and... well, them all.

He felt something pulsating through him as he climbed back to his feet. Use Fear? He was certain it wasn't allowed, especially without a pass but, desperate times call for desperate measure? Or something like that. His ability wasn't really made for attack more than distraction but he would give it a shot. He moved to stand in front of Bella, and raised his hand, out stretching his fingers He concentrated on the tips, small blue glowing balls of light appeared, one after the other. He kept his eyes focused of them, but only managed to get them a touch bigger before pulling his arm across him and then throwing it forward with as much force as he could conjure.

They soared across like whispers of the forest, he could see them fading but they were still bright by the time they reached the figure, they just bounced off of it and then disappeared completely. He sighed with disappointment inwardly cursing himself and his ability, knitting his brows together.... It really needed some work....

Apparently... they hadn't been taking this opponent seriously enough. Or at least... that's what the figure appeared to think, given their words. Gabrian would have liked to note that he was taking this fight very, very seriously, and that if he hadn't, well, the thrashing he was receiving would have made him rethink that rather rapidly.

He wasn't really able to celebrate when the bell hit, nor was he able to offer LW more than a smirk of approval when her rock smacked against the figure, because they were once more blasted with something. Were those shockwaves? What in Jack's name was this thing? The fact his arms had gone around the she-wolf's shoulders again, made his landing... awkward, and when he met the ground, the nix hissed in pain. His shoulder had hit a rock and it hurt like hell.

The pain throbbed as he pulled himself and the she-wolf up into a standing position again, his brows knitted as he tried to squint at the figure. Circe... what was Circe? A weapon? Another being? Did that make this... thing a reaper? Or maybe some sort of creature with an symbiosis? There was, once more, little time to analyze the clues he could gather, because the figure lifted the pendant and it began flashing. It wasn't the erratic flashing that disturbed the demon though; it was the familiar humming sound, "Candlejack!" it was a yelp of fear as he gripped LW and turned to make sure Ren and Alessa where nearby and doing fine (or as reasonably fine as possible given the situation). Gabrian didn't want to go back to the world beyond, but he braced himself, closing his eye shut, expecting to land in that same field... only to realize they were not only not moving, but he felt different.

He'd never been one to look a gift horse in the mouth, so rather than question the sudden surge of energy, the nix uncurled his arms from around the werewolf's shoulder and moved them in the air; as he did, a violin seemed to materialize out of thin air. Except... the instrument looked like it was made of energy rather than being solid. The nix took it, closed his eyes, placed it under his chin and played a few notes. The music seemed to materialize in thin air, forming a translucent serpent which opened it's jaws and charged towards the figure. As soon as it reached it's target and sunk it's fangs into the figure... it vanished, as did the violin Gabrian had been holding.

Carthusia was almost down for the count. She felt dizzy, light-headed and like she'd been hit by a truck. After finally peeling herself off the ground, she turned around to see the figure was still standing even after all the punishment the students managed to dish out. Jacking hell, why were they still standing? What were they doing? No matter, they were taunting the students to use their FEAR against them. Fine. Carry would be more than happy to.

Standing to her full height, she stared down the opponent and put all her might into making her FEAR a physical thing, bringing down visions of people tormenting the figure through physical abuse instead of simple taunts and jabs.

Alessa suddenly felt as if she'd had a house dropped on her. Every part of her body ached and she couldn't even tell from what. The tree had done nothing to protect her, nor had Ren's position in front of her, that she could see. What kind of FEAR was this? She could only assume the stranger was using some sort of FEAR, because these attacks were nothing like Christmas town. Her legs trembled and she found it hard to stay standing. It was also very difficult to resist the urge to change into a rabbit and flee as fast as she could. She wouldn't leave her friends behind though.

Suddenly she felt different. It was a similar feeling to when, by accident, she'd summoned her FEAR a few times when in danger. It was different though and, desperate, she tried to grab hold of that feeling and fan it like a flame. But suddenly her knees buckled and she had to cling to Ren not to fall over and the feeling faded. Jack, why couldn't she be useful for once? She swallowed hard and pushed herself away from her boilfriend, careful to make sure she was standing alright before she let go fully, "I'm fine just...just go get those Jack damn jerks." And stop trying to help her, which was really pointless right now, but of course she didn't say that.

No sooner had Rain arrived, she was thrown back from an attack. She had hit the ground so hard that she had forgotten what was going on around her. What the hell was this? What was going on?

Slowly, she began to feel something that was entirely new to her. It felt.. raw. Delicious. It was consuming her or was she consuming it? She pushed herself up to the ground and without thinking her hands began to move. It was as if she was dribbling a casketball, bouncing and tossing it from one hand to the other. Slowly black smoke formed and began to solidify, taking on the shape of a real casketball. It was as black as the darkest of nights and had a white skull glowing eerily on one side. It felt right, it felt connected to her. It seemed to be drawn to her. That no matter where she threw it, it would somehow make it's way back to her.

It felt glorious.

Dribble Dribble. The sound was an eerie one, as if it was hitting cement instead of the grass below.

Dribble

Her eyes flashed red and a smile curled up at the corner of her mouth. Without thinking she lunged back her arm and threw the casketball at the attacker, aiming for his head. He would think twice before attacking Rain Rottingham!

Of course, this being her first attempt to throw a ball at a small object, it didn't go quite as planned and she missed her mark completely. The ball bounced off a tree and rolled back to her on it's own. Still, it wasn't a total loss. She felt great.

The small victory she had felt from scoring a hit against the figure vanished just as quickly as it came as, once again, the figure seemed to be toying with them while lecturing them at the same time. This...just was not settling well with the she-wolf. And then the ground rumbled, Gabrian had his arm around her and that same force knocked them to the ground. She didn't just hiss in pain but let out a string of curses. Man! There was that second rock she had planned on picking up to throw. Her back knew its exact position on the ground now.

"What...what is this...thing?" LW hissed as Gabe pulled them up. She was confused by the way the figure seemed to talk to another. Was...did that mean there were two instead of one? Feral violet eyes narrowed as something familiar started to flash. "Oh JACKDAMINT!" LW did NOT want to go back to that place so soon after the first unfortunate trip there. Her fingers curled tightly against the demon that was holding her in preparation for just that to happen...except it didn't.

This...she knew this feeling! And the sudden absence of Gabe's arms as he made a violin appear (which she would have loved to have admired, but they were kind of busy right now) just proved she was right. LW didn't waste any time and stepped away from her small group. Feral eyes locked on the figure and she let her feet follow phantom steps as she twirled around slowly to a ghostly tune no one would hear. But everyone would hear her bells. The one and only time her bells could be heard. As they chimed, the figures mind would begin to become unsettled. Her dance was no where near as long as she would have liked, but she hurt. The ground was unstable and she managed to stub several toes against that same damn rock.

Growling, LW stumbled again and stopped, looking to watch the other students as well as check on her companions.

Letting out a grunt as the shockwave sent him flying into a tree, Jericho groaned lowly as he slowly pushed himself back to his feet. The stranger seemed to be holding something, but he couldn't tell what it was. Besides, now wasn't really the time to start analyzing the one before them. What got him more was that this person was... lecturing them?

Narrowing his eyes, he was about to charge once more, but paused as he suddenly felt.. stronger. He could feel the power surging through his body and it seemed to be caused by that amulet. Though, he didn't really care about the details there. He wanted revenge for getting knocked around!

The last attack from the stranger had knocked him a fair distance away.

"You want FEAR? EAT THIS PUMPKIN FUDGER!" he shouted as he thrust his hand out in the mystery man's direction. Above the dragon formed a twenty sided die the size of a baseball. Once it had fully formed, it hurled down at the stranger, igniting itself along the way.

(( Jeez, talk about dice fail XD ))

Arachne was shaking with anger now; she'd been taunted, tossed on the floor and banged her head, and now this hooded whoever was challenging her - them all.

'Fine..' she muttered, closing her eyes for a moment to centre herself. She pulled out a handful of her divining bones and scattered them on the floor, feeling a charge of power from Jack knew where as she glared at the figure.

'I see you..surrounded.' she murmured, the bones on floor glowed for a moment and a vision would appear to the hooded one, the figure surrounded on all sides by huge, menacing opponents, his power gone. She mentally gave it a nudge, pushing it forward so that it envelop him, show him a future of defeat but it faded, and then dissipated. Whatever had given her the Fear necessary to make such an illusion was not enough for it to hold and she sank back, irritation stamped across her face.

Rosc had been taken by surprise by the opponent's attack and hadn't been able to recover enough to attack a second time. He had been floored by the more powerful one and felt... Well, it felt like how he did on a bad day.

"I hate this school," he growled as he pulled himself back to his feet just in time to feel a surge of power. His vision changed in that moment, as if someone had turned the lights on. For the first time since the attack, he saw colors. It dazzled him for a heartbeat, his mind having trouble taking it in. But that meant his FEAR was empowered, and he couldn't stand around doing nothing.

He held his hands out and gave his sight away for an illusion of a shadowy beast. He couldn't get a hold on whatever it was this opponent wanted, so he conjured the closest thing he could think of. And when his hands touched it... It felt solid!
Taking a leap of faith, he sent it at the figure.

If it really had been solid when he had created it, it had lost that by the time it got to their attacker, for it leapt right through him/her.

"Oh, you know bushes!" The witch waved with her free to show it wasn't a big deal, somehow finding her humor in the middle of battle to add: "They just love cute, young girls. Can't let them go!" But before she could really go into how she wasn't really ok, but ok enough to continue fighting at least another round or two longer, another wave reached toward them. Before she could react she was being pulled onto the boil, her hands trying to cover her mouth in a gasp but instead smacking her face and causing of bit of extra damage. The fact that she was currently lying on top of someone didn't bother her as much as all the hurt did. A long and very whiny "Oooowwwww" escaped her and she rolled off Daisuke, glad he was helping her sit up.
"This jack damned idiot is NOT very friendly!" It wasn't really that she was making an improper assessment of his character, no, it was more that she was trying her best to insult him but she was a little pinched for details and couldn't really give a proper insult. No matter!

Pushing herself to her feet, she watched Daisuke tap into his FEAR and realized other students were doing it too! A familiar rush of energy coursed through her and Belladonna reached into her pocket and pulled out a well worn deck of cards. Instinctively she grabbed the one she needed from the very middle and held it high above her head.
"You have drawn the Death Card!" She shouted to their attacker, the card glowing a faint iridescent color, "An end shall come for you!" The glow then zapped to the ground to reveal a very tiny skeleton in black armor holding a very tiny lance. This was a little embarrassing since he was so small, but Belladonna only nodded to him once and the little toy-like thing hustled over to the man. Taking its lance and mounting the attack he poked the man once, very hard in the ankle. There! Take that! Grrrr!

This was getting ridiculous. Nyyrikki panted as he rose to his feet once again. He stumbled and coughed, his footing becoming unsure as his body was worn out. He was pleased to note that this didn't last long.

The rush of power that hit him was almost maddening. It felt so good in comparison to the burst that kept knocking him on his a**. It filled him and made him more stable, and called on something deep in his body. He wouldn't ignore this.

Almost of it's own accord his mouth opened and the power became a near-living thing. In a burst of black, oil-y, rippling feathers, hundreds of crows spilled from his mouth, cawing and cackling. Their beady black eyes were soul-less as the tore towards the figure, seeming more solid than they should be. To Nyyrikki, it felt like it lasted hours, but it was over in a matter of seconds.

He collapsed on the ground, pale and sweating, holding his stomach. Severe nausea shook his body and he was left to wrench his eyes shut and try to let it pass.

Being dropped to the ground again was really pissing him off, and Fear boost or not, he wanted to go and tear the damn stranger apart. However, past experience told him he wasn't that great at attacks. He wasn't meant to be. Maybe if he was a horse, he could have done some damage. He knew how to fight in equine form. Rise up, raise hooves, and throw your hooves out. Then turn and kick. This required more of a gentle touch.

His attack didn't burn. It didn't catch fire or explode or grow horrible appendages to aid him. He didn't run to the stranger, but he stared directly where he stood, moving so that no bush or tree could separate his gaze from the one creature who kept causing him to drop on his rear.

Reaching back, he brushed a hand through his hair, and everything, - sticks, beetles, bugs, leaves, and whatever mess that he threw in his hair to make it tangled – fell out. He reached up, unbuttoned his jacket, and then took a stance, and glared. He was no different than before in appearance – at first. But an certain sense of charm wafted around his person. His eyes went larger, the pupils dilating and working to hold the gaze of the mysterious stranger that continued to taunt them. His appearance changed to a ghostly pale, yet pulled with an alluring charm that was hauntingly appealing. Attractive, and with his desire to hold the other's gaze, he hoped would drop the kidnapper's defenses. His clothes were still torn, though his hair was in a shimmering state of moonlight white, and in some strange way, he was pulling it all off to just look as any kelpie should – gorgeous.

Christof was wheezing as he wobbled to his feet, still gripping his injured seam. He could feel all of his stitches barely holding on- now was NOT the time to fall to pieces! Fear... fear... FEAR. His Master had spoken to him long and hard about Fear and the use there of... it had been his passion. So many applications, so many possibilities, so many ways to terrify and frighten.. but the hunchback had never used his own Fear power before, he had never been strong enough. His hunch and arm were bristling with goosebumps now, power radiating from inside him and he had never felt such vigor.... Goosebumps suddenly turned into piercing spines, erupting from the skin of his monstrous left arm, his long pale nails suddenly sharpening into claws- It really was a special arm, given to him upon his graduation from Igor training. None of the other Igors had been given an arm like this.

With a wild, muffled yell, he charged forward, mean left hook at the ready- He charged forward, leaping through the underbrush, spikes and leathery skin bristling with muscle and power, four sharpened digits aimed forward as he swung to try to outright impale the shadowy figure. Fear... fear felt so GOOD. Despite his failing health from the creature's invisible attacks, he felt energized, faster, stronger- it was intoxicating. At least this time he did not miss.

Barth was on his feet again. He felt power buckle through him in a concussive surge. FEAR. Energy. The heavy, oppressive haze he normally bumbled through cleared.

He felt...lighter. Good. Sleepy, but not tired, like waking up to a full, clear moon in a warm bed.

In control. And angry.

And...oozing?

Definitely oozing. Muck twisted off of his long claws and onto the ground, making a fat blob. The features congealed into something that looked like half an evil chihuahua made out of black snot.

They looked at each other for a moment.

"Err," Barth said, "Get him?"

The goo-lem snaked off, leaving a trial of grease, and obediently kamikaze'd into the stranger. The resulting splat didn't hurt much, but the aftermath was pretty disgusting.

Lucien's second attack never came. It seemed the strike from the first blow that hit him froze the anger he had been facing and for a moment he seemed to completely forget the world, forget what had happened and what he was doing. He seemed to be in a daze for that moment until the second attack hit him and he felt strange. He felt like the air around him was getting thicker and the more he concentrated the more the air seemed to twist around him. He was changing the air, changing the face of the sky. A blemish on the sky was forming, a cloud. He had never done this before, and his anger seemed to disappear completely as the cloud did the unbelievable: snuggle against Lucien. D'aw. Lucien forgot to attack and so did the cloud, unless you considered that it was attacking Lucien with hugs.
