((The lizard's dead, folks!))
The enchantress stepped through the flames, unscathed by the dragon-fire.
She extended a hand, allowing him a merciful exit from this life by stopping his heart.
Once his chest had ceased to rise and fall, the elf-woman allowed herself to collapse, magically drained.

Those whom Dr. Shimeera had experimented on came out of the woodwork. Their gruesome appearances made them appear antagonistic at first, but their cheers made it evident that they weren't enemies. Their oppressor was dead, and they had these valiant people to thank for it!
A scaly, froggish denizen noticed that Emma was still in the circle of flames. Remembering that Dr. Shimeera had altered his DNA to withstand fire, he hopped inside, grabbed Emma, and hopped over the flames.

Alex was gradually recovering from his injuries as seared flesh was sloughed off. When he finally recovered from the searing flames that had consumed him it was obvious that his nanites weren't quite as miraculous as they had seemed. He was little more than skin and bone at this point. His muscles had atrophied greatly and any fat stores in his body were practically nonexistent at this point as they were scavenged to restore the technopath to life. He opened both of his eyes but only his artificial one was still in its socket. The other one was gone leaving a gaping hole in his face. It too had been sacrificed to ensure Alex's life.
Shutting the missing eye Alex looked about the battlefield noticing that things were now over. He quickly requested one of the freed experiments to go search for his space suit and maybe any normal food they might have. As he waited he used his wrist computer to bring up just how bad his body was at this point. He frowned at how lacking in spare materials for his nanites he was. He also was suffering from quite a bit of dehydration due to the large amount of water lost. The food and drink that grateful experiments brought him were enough to get him moving again. However he certainly wasn't in any condition to fight anytime soon.
Once he finished consuming the food he set out to re-obtain his suit and the flight harness as quickly as he could. Once he had it back on he left the planet and activated the suit's FTL drive to bring him back to his nearest lab to heal and remake his suits armor.

((-Headdesks- Sorry I wasn't around for the end, guys. My supervisor is pulling as much work out of me as he can before I leave the company. XP ))
With Doctor Shimeera dead, the Warchief left the wrecked lab and disappeared into the thick jungle.
