Name: Isabella Kalamari (Izzy or Kala) Alignment: Steamer Tier: Society Three days ago Isabella Kalamari had been sitting behind her mahogany desk, booted feet propped up, pipe in her left hand (for looks, as she didn't smoke, but had a habit of chewing on a pipe when thinking), and newspaper in right hand. That was when the door burst open and the opulent dressed Mr. Kurasai entered the office. No one but Izzy would have had the balls to stall Mr. Kurasai as she did. She calmly closed her eyes, carefully set down her pipe, and folded her newspaper all while Mr. Kurasai glared at her.
"Mr. Kurasai!" Izzy said with a smile, "What a surprise it is to see you here."
"Hardly," snapped Mr. Kurasai, "Don't act as if you don't read the newspapers Miss Kalamari. It has been quite some time now..."
"Yes, about your daughter, Kimitte, right?" Izzy said. "I don't see why you are here, though. You've got practically every tracker robot in the city looking for her. You must be pretty desperate if you are going to see me. What am I supposed to do?"
"You've found people tracker robots haven't, before," Mr. Kurasai said in an almost accusing tone.
"That is... okay, that is true, but only once or twice," Izzy said. She knew that if she succeeded in this case she would be rewarded beyond her wildest dreams no doubt, but if she failed her career would be a joke she couldn't show her face anywhere. It was hard enough finding places to have a drink in Society when you were a bounty hunter who was the best at her job, but if you mess up one time...
"I hear your mother is planning to set you up with Edward Yale... shame such a pretty girl would marry such a shrimp-like young chap without any backbone of his own," sighed Mr. Kurasai. "Then again if you succeeded in this mission maybe I could set you up with my younger cousin- the good looking one who is the most eligible bachelor in Society right now... my cousin would be most entertained by you, actually."
"And if I fail no one would ever want to marry me," Izzy sighed. Smiling she said, "Actually, that doesn't sound too bad of a situation."
Mr. Kurasai smiled, "Very well, I'll have the engagement announced by the end of the week and a million deposited into your account. Marriage to my cousin Sebastien will occur when you return my only heir to me and you will receive one million more. Your mother will be off your back, you will be respected in society for once, and you are richer for your time. A fair trade, yes? I expect my daughter back within three months time."
"Um..." began Izzy, standing, as Mr. Kursai walked out the door. Sinking back into her chair she sighed, "Very well, sir."
So, now, Izzy was in the slums, fighting the large crowds cursing her luck. Sure, Mr. Kurasai solved all of her problems in one fowl swoop and Sebastien Kurasai was one of the most tolerable of bachelors in Society, and she could stand the thought of marriage to him-after all she would get prestige and never have to worry about money, in fact be richer than her family would have ever hoped for their little Isabella... It had been two days since Izzy started her search in the slums and she was already getting tired of it. It wasn't the filth, the garbage, or the pollution she minded, it was the people. Faces of those that had given up. And then the more irritating ones, the men who kept harassing her. Even her dowdiest clothes still stood out, and then there was her bright white hair and cool blue eyes...
But, on the bright side she had a possible lead as she was sent towards the home of some Jack Welston when she asked around in one of the factories for anyone who could tell her about anybody who was newer in the factory, that might seem a little different or didn't stand out at all. Then again, it could be another dead end like the other fifteen people she had interviewed so far. The trick now though was to keep her chin up and to find the man's place among all of these ladders and people and smoke. How could people live in this chaos everyday?

❝Shadow Flame❞ ◢Яyul Șamison◤ When Lina took the pot from his mother, he grabbed her arm and pulled her away. He ignored her when she asked when he got taller than her. "Mom, we don't want everyone in town to know that," he said. He waited as she replied. She was shocked, as was expected. "But why not? That's good news. Why don't you want anyone to know?" "Mom, you may not realize it, but I'm not really the kind to date anyone. I'm a lone wolf," he tried to explain. "Well, don't you think it's time to change that?" "No, you don't understand. That's not something I can just change overnight. Everyone sees me as a loner. That type of label doesn't just disappear in one day." "So you don't want me to tell anyone?" "We would really appreciate that," he said Raven thought about it for a moment, then sighed. "Alright, I guess I can help you out," she said. Ryul smiled. "Thank you mom," he said. The whole conversation had been in voices that only him and his mother could hear. Before they could turn back and join the other two, there was the sound of pained howling off in the distance. Ryul's head snapped over to where he heard it. That was Kowe, there wasn't a doubt in his mind. Without a glance at any of the others, he took off, heading for the trees where he heard the howl. He didn't have his bow with him. It was still sitting on the workbench in Lina's greenhouse, but he did have his sword and that was all he needed. He ran through the trees, searching for Kowe. How could he have gotten hurt? The memory of when he first found Kowe played in his head as he ran.
Ryul sat high in a tree, his bow on his back and his sword on his hip. He only had the weapons for about a year, so he wasn't that good at them. He still had plenty of practicing to do. He was laying along the branch, watching the ground below him. Not far from where he was, he heard the sound of snarling. He listened for a moment, until he heard loud yelping. He couldn't just sit around and let whatever it was get hurt or killed. He swung from his branch and grabbed another one on his way down. It slowed his fall enough so that he could land in a crouch without snapping one of his legs. He straightened and listened for the yelping. He followed the sound for a few minutes. By the time he'd gotten to the source of the sound, the apparent attacker had already gone. There was a small, severely wounded wolf laying on the ground. It had cuts, gashes, and slices all over it's body. It's fur was matted with blood. He knelt down beside it and lifted it into his arms. He could tell that it was close to death. He had to get it healed quickly or it would die. He couldn't allow a creature such as this to just die like this. He quickly took it back to his house to get it taken care of. He took it into the bathroom to get the wolf cleaned off so that he could see what needed to be done. Normally, he wasn't really good with healing things like this, but he did the best he could. After getting the blood washed off and the wounds cleaned, he laid the immobile wolf on his bed. It took him almost an hour before he finally got all the wounds patched up. The wolf whimpered and yelped several times in the meantime. The bleeding stopped and the wounds cleaned and closed, Ryul had done all he could. He laid on the bed next to the injured wolf for the rest of the night. The next morning, the wolf had been able to stand. He took it outside to see how well it was and how well it could get around. This had become routine until the wolf was finally able to run and play and hunt like a normal wolf. He then took it to the forest outside the town to release it back into the wild. Once he'd set it on the ground, it had ran off into the trees. He watched the spot it had disappeared for a moment, then turned to walk away with a sigh. He could honestly say that he was a bit sad that the wolf had left without a backwards glance. What had he expected though? It to stay at his feet and not want to leave? It was a wild animal. It wasn't going to stick around. It wasn't until he was at the edge of the forest that he heard the slight crunching of leaves behind him. Turning around, he saw the wolf trying to sneak up on him. When it saw that he was looking, it jumped slightly and turned to run back into the trees, away from view. He chuckled lightly when he saw that. He turned to walk away again, this time walking out of the trees.
He was pulled out of the memory as another howl filled the air. He was getting closer. The image of the severely injured wolf pup laying on the ground kept flashing in his head. He hoped it wouldn't be as bad this time as it had been then.

I've flown a million miles just to find a magic seed A white flower with the power to bring life to me You're so exotic my whole body fluttering Constantly craving for a taste of your sticky sweet
Melina Nadine Larkspur Lina listened to Emiko as she talked, waiting to hand Mrs. Samison her plant back until Ryul was finished talking to her. She then realized how odd she must look. Lina rarely traveled out in just shorts and a tank top, usually she was wearing a dress, or skirt, or something of the like. She brushed that thought to the back of her mind as she thought of a response. "Yes, it is nice out today. I just spent some time soaking up some sunlight." She replied with a smile.
Celebrate? Was Lina missing something? It wasn't a holiday, or the birthday of somebody she knew. She seriously had to think a moment to make sure she wasn't missing anything, for she would feel bad if she had. Nope, nothing came to mind. "Celebrate? I suppose, if you had something to celebrate..." She decided that was a good answer. Maybe Emiko had a birthday party to attend, or something like that.
The conversation came to a halt when a loud howl erupted from somewhere off in the distance. Her head instantly turned to the direction, like many others out and about. She hoped the animal would be okay, however, she had an idea of which animal it was when Ryul took off. Then, it really hit her. Kowe. That would be the only reason Ryul would leave like that without another word.
"Oh no...." Lina said softly, biting her lip. She turned instantly to Mrs. Samison and handed the potted plant back to her. "I added some fertilizer that should make it look better within the next couple of days. Sorry...I have to go..." She turned back to Emiko. At this point, she didn't care if she looked strange, well, in a moment that is. "I have got to go...If you want to continue this conversation later, I'll be in my greenhouse most likely...but not anytime soon..if that makes any sense...." She said, habitually giving the girl a hug, doing the same to Mrs. Samison. Then, she too bolted off towards the forest, following in Ryul's tracks.
It wasn't long before she made it past the trees that formed the border between the town and the forest. She was doing her best to follow Ryul, however, once in the thick of the trees, it was a bit harder to do so. So, Lina relied on signs from the plants. Shrub's being trampled on, and things like that. However, another painful howl directed her in the right direction.
Now is when she realized that running into the woods with no real protection wasn't such a smart thing. Shoving that thought aside, for it would only worry her more than necessary at the time, she continued on her way to find Kowe. Always on the brink of a heart attack You keep me alive and keep me coming back I see the sun rise in your eyes, your eyes We've got a future full of blue skies, blue skies

Character:
Jack laughed and shook his head. "Kinda. You'll see." Jack pulled a hidden lever in the back of the cabinet, which caused a door to appear nearby. "This is the entrance to my lab. It's nothing big, but it does hold most of my important gadgets." He opened the door and looked at Mit. "Ladies first" He said with a small smile. "It's not that long a trip, so we should be there fast." He let Mit get ahead, and closed the door behind them. "I made about 3 years after I moved in, and it's been my favorite place. You are the second person I let in here." Jack sighed and looked down the corridor. "And... It looks like you'll be the last visitor I'll have too." I've been at this place since I was 17... I built this pathway with my own two hands 3 years later... Jack thought sadly to himself. And I used the lab for over 8 years... Yet this is how it will end. The reached the end of the path, and Jack opened the door to his lab. "Mit... Welcome to Paradise."

Ⱦamiko Ƞara "Please leave me alone. I'm busy." ┏━━━━━━━━━┓ ❝Tamiko was making her way through the streets with the black and white cat in her arms. She was trying to get back to her place, but the crowd was slowing her down. The cat was watching the crowd with wide eyes. It squirmed occasionally, wanting to get down and run through the crowd. She held onto the little cat firmly, not wanting her to get away. "Kitz, calm down, we'll back back home soon," she said to the cat. While holding the cat in one arm, she started petting it with her other hand, trying to get it to calm down. She sighed when it mewed and continued squirming. She opened her bag and slid the cat inside. The cat mewed sadly. "I'm sorry Kitz, but if you're going to try to get away, you've got to go in the bag," she said. She continued to make her way through the crowd, wondering why the streets were so crowded today.❞ ┗━━━━━━━━━┛

Name: Isabella Kalamari (Izzy or Kala) Alignment: Steamer Tier: Society Sighing, Izzy looked contemplated the directions she got to Jack Welston's dwelling at the factory. If she had known things were this confusing in this part of the slums she would have asked for further clarification and written down directions. Of course written directions would have made Izzy stand out even more. Little did she know as she contemplated directions in her head, she was the object of discussion for a group of men of the local gangs.
"See, the white haired fox over there dressed in purple?" Asked one of the men to his fellow gang member.
"Yeah, what about her?" Asked another taking a swig from his flask.
"Haven't seen her around, before," said the first one.
"Yeah, you're right. She looks like she might be even a bit lost. Holds herself too high to be typical slum wench," smirked another.
Some of the men laughed, as one offered, "Why don't we offer to play with her for a little bit?"
Thirty seconds later, as Izzy reached for a ladder she felt a hand grip her right arm hard. "Hello, foxy, we haven't seen you in our turf before... and that porcelain skin and white hair we'd have remembered." Izzy bit her lip as she looked up at the scarred face of the man who grabbed her. This week has just gone from bad to worse, thought Izzy pinching the bridge of her nose as eight men began to close in around her.
"Why don't you guys just let me go? I'm really not your type. Trust me," said Izzy calmly.
"Oh, we disagree," laughed a bald headed man in the group.
The man holding her right arm twisted it back, right before Izzy landed a well aimed kick to the man's gut, and she scrambled up the ladder, so that she could deal with the men one at a time instead of in a group. Action stories always had bad guys attack one at a time, in real life it only worked like that if you could be reached by only one bad guy at a time. And that was exactly, her plan, as she swung herself over the top rung of the ladder, pulling her two pistols out and aiming towards the men climbing the ladder after her yelling obscenities at her.
"First Mr. Kurasai, then an engagement, and now this," muttered Izzy under her breath, sarcastically. "Great... just great. My week is turning out just beautifully."

.:Mit:. Steamer Mit entered the passageway with a smile. This was going to be rather interesting, wasn't it? Hmm... She gasped when she enterd Jack's laboratory. It took her a moment, but in no time she was darting around the lab like a little kid in a toy shop, her gun leaning casually against the wall, as if it was watching her. "Wow, this is...! And this, check this out! Wow, can you believe...??" she said to no one in particular. "This is genius! Incredible!" she gushed, picking up gadget after gizmo and holding it up to the light. "Blueprints and thingies and whozits all over the place! This is...!" She turned to Jack, her face flushed with excitement. "Do you realize how much money you could make with this stuff? You could be rich, man!" She flounced over to him and put her arm around his shoulder, waving her arms in front of her. "Picture this: Jack Welston, Genius Inventor from the Undercity becomes Society Hero! Wouldn't that be amazing?" she asked, her eyes wide with joy. Suddenly, her face fell. "Wow..." she mumbled, letting go and walking, as if dazed, over to her gun. "I guess what I can do is nothing compared to what you can." She reached into her bag and pulled out a compass-like thing. She sighed. " I made this about a week ago. I don't really know what it is or what it reads, but whatever it is, there isn't much of it here. What do you make of it?" she asked, handing it to him.~ Who am I? I can't decide which way to run... ~ [got an idea here... work with me, please ^.^]

Emiko Kei Emiko sighed. Obviously, Melina hadn't understood what she had ment. "Or maybe the beginning of a new relationship." She said under her breath, not loud enough for Melina to hear. After hearing a pained howl, Emiko's cringed. She hated pain, and the sound of it. All it did was remind her of her past. After seeing Ryul and Melina rush off, Emiko didn't approach Ryul's mother. She stood still. Love? I guess they must share that feeling. The thought pained her. She sighed. I wonder if that is something I will ever experiance.... Heh. I highly doubt it. She shook her head, then began to walk in the direction Melina and Ryul had run off in.

❝Shadow Flame❞ ◢Яyul Șamison◤ Ryul ran through the trees. He ignored the branches that cut into his skin. His only thoughts were directed at Kowe and finding him. Several minutes later, the sound of whimpering reached his ears. A couple moments later, he saw Kowe laying on the ground through the trees. He pushed through the last bit of shrubs and trees and fell to his knees next to Kowe. The first thing he noticed was the blood. He started checking Kowe's wounds, trying to find the worst ones so he could get those taken care of first. "Kowe, what did you get yourself into?" he asked softly. He didn't know what had done this to Kowe. Whatever did this was long gone. He lightly touched one of the deeper wounds and Kowe growled and tried to snap at his hand. He pulled his hand back. "Calm down Kowe. It's okay. I'm just trying to help you," he said, trying to keep his voice calm so the wolf would know he wasn't there to hurt him.
Raven watched the spot where Ryul and Melina disappeared into the trees. It didn't take her long to figure out that the howling was caused by Ryul's wolf friend, Kowe. She looked down at the plant in her hand. Her house wasn't that far away, so she could take the plant there and come back to see what had happened. Ryul, Melina, and Emiko were all going to help Kowe, so she was sure that the wolf would be fine. She turned and headed in the direction of her house. She was going to put the plant down and come back. She wouldn't be much help with a plant in her hands anyway.

Ⱦamiko Ƞara "Please leave me alone. I'm busy." ┏━━━━━━━━━┓ ❝Tamiko finally managed to get through the crowd. As she passed a store and paused. She couldn't resist going in and at least looking around. She opened the door and stepped in, looking at what this store had to offer. There was a soft mew from her bag and she opened it all the way. She pulled the cat out and set her on the ground. "Try not to break anything Kitz. I don't know if I can afford to pay for anything you break," she said. The cat walked off slowly, looking around. She figured the cat was just looking for somewhere to curl up and wait for her to be done looking. She wasn't worried about the cat getting lost or disappearing in the store. She started to look around. She wondered where the shop owner was.❞ ┗━━━━━━━━━┛

Name: Isabella Kalamari (Izzy or Kala) Alignment: Steamer Tier: Society As the first thug managed to climb to the top of the ladder, Izzy shot, her specially modified pistol letting out a charge of electricity much like a stun gun. The electrodes hitting the man's forehead. He let out a scream as his hands slipped on the ladder, and Izzy quickly cut the attachment between his forehead and her stun gun-pistol.
Surprise might have worked for one or two, but the thugs perusing her were already beginning to understand that the nicely dressed white haired girl wasn't easy prey. And, now they were furious. Already one was pulling out his own gun as he climbed the ladder. No specially modified guns for stunning but not for the kill for them.
Swearing under her breath, in a most unladylike fashion, a habit she picked up from visiting the slums too many times most likely (or at least that is what Izzy's mother would say), Izzy began to pound on the door behind her. So help me, I'm going to kick the door down if these people don't let me in...
Little did she know, she had the luck to stumble across Jack Welston's doorstep. Not too surprising, though, considering she had been trying to get there in the first place. But what were the odds that Jack could hear the commotion outside? Izzy's insistent pounding was aided by her voice, in a shrill shout, "Hello?! Someone, let me in! I need a little help, out here..." Taking a deep breath she added, "You'll be compensated!"

Emiko Kei As soon as Emiko entered the forest border, she stopped as a gust of wind surrounded her. She took in a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air. Her eyes closed momentarily. When they opened once more, her mood seemed to have shifted. Emiko smirked. She jumped into one of the trees, then began jumping from tree to tree, faster than anyone could run. She seemed to reach Ryul and Kowe in no time. She didn't jump from the tree though, trying not to startle anyone. Kowe looked to be in pretty bad shape. Emiko looked around but didn't see Melina anywhere. Odd... She sighed. Emiko jumped back about three trees then jumped down, walking slowly toward Ryul and Kowe. She wasn't sure how either of them would react, seeing the condition Kowe was in. All the times she had seen Kowe, he had been fairly friendly with her, not becoming alert immediatly when she appeared, but becoming conscious enough of her pressence to have to circle her to see if she was a threat. Other than that, he might have let her pet him, then he would walk off back to where he had been laying down, and would continue with what he had been doing. Emiko leaned against a tree, watched Ryul aid Kowe as best he could. Emiko's specialty was healing and wind/air magics. She could use other things as well, but that was just what she was best at. Emiko was quite sure Ryul and Kowe were now aware of her being there, so she decided to speak. "How is he?"

Character:
Jack smiled as he saw Mit run back and forth through his lab. Paradise was his pride and joy, what he spent years building up. Jack walked to back of his lab and grabbed a bag with 2 straps on it and gave it to Mit. "What I'll need your help with some of my important gadgets. I have a few that I want to take." He grabbed a semi-large circular object, and pushed a button, which caused multiple arms to spring out. "This here is my Toolkit." Jack explained while filling the arms with tools. "I can place my tools in it and carry it around on my pack, like that bag I handed you. Here." He threw over 4 objects at Mit one at a time. "These are some of my pride and joy's that I created." The first object had a miniaturized cannon on top of a specialized wristband that Jack created, with customized ammunition he also created. The second was a black gauge he made especially used to detect magic near, although it wasn't finished yet. The third was a another wristband with a launcher that shot disk out at alarming speeds. The fourth was an armlet that had the power to give increase strength and speed to whoever wore it, but it was only a prototype, and missing some major components. Jack smiled at the praise he got from Mit, but frowned slightly when he heard Mit talked down to herself. "Mit, it's all mind over matter. If you can think it, you can build it. You'll come up with some amazing objects one day, I can tell." He looked at the compass-like object, and tinkered with it a bit. "Looks interesting, but it seems like it's missing some parts. We still have time before we-" Jack heard someone pounding his door, and yelling outside. "What the... How found my home?" He looked at the clock, and saw the time. "Well... the steam outside would have cleared by now... Mit, feel free to tinker with your gadget for now, we'll leave in a little bit. I'll get the door." He handed Mit her compass and Jack began to walk towards the corridor, but stopped, and grabbed a metal sheath he made a while ago. "I was planning on making a blade later... looks like I found a new blade instead." Jack joked around. He put on the sheath and placed the sword in it while he answered the door. "Hello?" Jack answered and stood shocked when he say a lady with porcelain skin and white hair. "Who are you?" Jack asked, placing his hand on the handle of the blade that was hidden by the door.

Kameko Hotaka JJ watched as someone entered the shop. He followed the person in. "Can we help you with something?" He asked. JJ noticed the cat but didn't think much of it. Hotaka and the others heard JJ's voice in the other room. Ralf sighed. "That moron is suppose to be watching the items outside, what the hell is he doing?" Hotaka was the first to the door. She noticed a girl, a cat, and JJ. When the others came to the door, she put her hand up, motioning for them to stop. Hotaka walked out. "JJ, go outside. Your brothers can take care of this." She said with a smile. JJ sighed, nodded, and left. "Don't let looks fool you, moron."
