When you die, you are complete When you live you must compete Can the light outway the dark Can you go and leave your mark... Kiyoshi Jino Your Prayers are heard --------------------------- Kiyoshi's search for the barracks continued on. He looked around, trying to find a landmark or something that would point him in the right direction. Unfortunately, nothing came into view. He decided maybe asking somebody was a good idea. Then again, the people of Tenepolis seemed pretty pressed with other things, and probably wouldn't answer. he didn't want to waste their time anyway. Kiyoshi sighed. Why was this so difficult. Was the city large enough that he couldn't find the large building that happened to be where he was staying? Was it really that easy to get lost? Kiyoshi sighed. "If I had just waited, I wouldn't have gotten lost." He turned in a few circles, hoping that he would see something that would lead him back. Too bad nothing did. Kiyoshi started jumping, trying to change his angle of view ever so slightly. About then was when people began to give him funny looks. Could the situation get any worse?
Finally, after a while, Kiyoshi decided he would just try walking around, and maybe he would find the barracks. Maybe if he tried a ridiculous strategy, like oonly making left turns or something, he would eventually find the living area. He decided it was worth a try, and began to walk. One left turn after another, the man found nothing, but kept trekking. He couldn't surrender yet. He had to find his way back so that he could ensure that everything was the way it should be. His search continued. Kiyoshi kept walking, getting more and more annoyed each time he turned to find nothing familiar. He started to sigh every time a turn would reaveal no landmark, and then he started to grunt. Grunted became growling, and growling became yelling in an irritaed manner. Finally, after a while, he jsut let out his frustration. "Where are the military barracks!?" He yelled out. It took him a moment, but it turned out that the people of Tenepolis could be quite helpful at times. Some of them pointed in the direction of the barracks. Kiyoshi smiled. "Oh, thank you." He said, and then ran off towards the barracks. In a few minutes, he arrived at the odd looking doors of the building he was sleeping in. ... If one day you reach you reach your goal Will you find that you are whole Go out now, complete your task An angel will do what you ask

Sun been down for days A pretty flower in a vase A slipper by the fireplace A cello lying in it's case
 Neysa
Neysa heard a familiar voice and looked over at Sefas. "Oh! Ah...hello." she said with a small smile. "I'm sorry...I think that I'm just as lost as you are" she said as she rubbed the back of her head. She took a step back and bumped into something solid. She looked over to find Shinobi standing next the them and almost jumped out of her skin. Her nerves were still on edge from the tunnel and she didn't even hear him approach them. Neysa placed her hand over her heart and bent over for a moment. "Ah...Shinboi...you're here too...hopefully you don't mind helping us a bit..just...Let me get my soul back in my body..." She took a few breaths and stood up straight.
"Uhm, Shinobi...could you take us to the Barracks...I think I turned in the wrong direction or something." she gave him a sheepish smile and looked away. "Am I far from them? The streets are like mazes to me. I've never been in a place this big before." She looked around a the buildings around them and frowned. Everything looked the same to her. The structures seemed to blend together which made it rather confusing for her.
Sun been down for days A winter melody she plays The thunder makes her contemplate She hears a noise behind the gate Perhaps a letter with a dove Perhaps a stranger she could love

Sefas Minos Alchemist Sefas smiled as he found Neysa... Finally, a familiar face. He then nodded slowly as he received the grim news that she didn't have any clearer an idea of where they were going than he did. Although, the Shinobi's arrival gave a shimmering gleam of hope, since he knew the area a bit better than either he or Neysa do. Although... There was something on his face that he could not quite put his finger on, but knew that something was on his mind that weighed heavily...
"I was going to ask whether or not you could tell us which way the barracks were... Although it looks like there's something heavier on your mind. What's going on?" He did not know much about the history of this part of the world, but he did know certainly that whatever was going on was quite intimidating... At least, intimidating enough to give off the aura of apprehension he was likely getting off of the shinobi. Little did he know just what kind of herculean effort would later be required by the group, should they choose to accept this mission of gargantuan proportions...

"Shinobi" XXX XXX XXX XXX静かな戦士"the Silent Warrior" Narinthe stood silently, rigid. He felt nervousness about their next mission, perhaps guilt. Guilt for signing the group up for something they were not present to hear about. His eye floated to Neysa as she shifted back toward him, and felt her bump into his form. She whipped around and jumped, and for a moment as he looked down upon her, it looked as if he was holding back a laugh. His eye had the light of amusement. His body lurched forward for a moment as if to suppress laughter, his fingers curling into a fist, floating to where his mouth as to ensure no sound emitted. He blinked as she mentioned helping them, his manners calming down from almost laughing. Though, he was still heavily, visibly amused as she caught her breath and stood up. They were lost. He looked around sarcastically, his hand by his mouth now rubbing his chin as if to think, his other hand rested upon his hip for a moment, as she mentioned thinking she turned in the wrong direction, as if a, 'Ya think?' was across his mind. She gave a sheepish smile, and both his hands returned to his sides, only for him to shake his head at her. They were no where close. He looked at Sefas, the man had been silent for these moments. His eye met Sefas' own, revealing to him Sefas' skeptical mind. He blinked with curiosity and confusion, before he spoke. His eye widened slightly, though not noticeably as Sefas asked his question. The Shinobi stood for a moment, mentally commending Sefas' perception, before he finally, hesitantly shook his head. He gave a sideways nod in a direction, as if to direction them, putting a hand on each of their shoulders, as he turned his back on them and began to walk. His brow furrowed slightly upon his face getting out of their sight. He felt guilt. He felt apprehension toward the mission--it had been sought for years, hundreds of years. That knowledge could be just a myth, a manifestation of the hopes of people. Perhaps the Djinn truly were immortal, and there was no real way to kill them after all. He just hoped, during the debriefing, they were offered a chance to opt out, if the could. He shook his head weakly, as if to shake the thoughts of, walking down the streets further. he turned his body halfway toward them, as if to look back to see if they were following him. By then, his face was expressionless once more.

 Neysa
Neysa let out a heavy sigh as she watched the amusement on his features and movement. She crossed her arms and frowned at him as she waited for him to finish mocking her. I'm glad he thinks this is funny....at least he can help us....I wouldn't mind getting off my feet for a bit. she thought with as hake of the head. I tried to make my way back...I did...but it's just so confusing...it's not my fault. She then shrugged and glanced back at Sefas as he spoke to Shinobi.
Neysa raised a brow and titled her head to the side as her gaze fell back on shinobi. What was going on? Whats on his mind? she wondered as she watched Shinobi's reaction to Sefas's question. She looked up at Shinobi as he placed his hand on her shoulder. Neysa quietly watched him walk past them and off in the direction that she guessed that the barracks were located. When he looked back she found his features expressionless once again. She had then decided that she preferred it when he mocked her rather than how he is now. He didn't seem very approachable. Then again some people prefer that..she silently told herself. Neysa then started to walk after him. She didn't need to loose him and get lost again.

Sefas Minos Alchemist Sefas then began to follow the Shinobi went over to the tower... After the group was approaching the barracks after a long walk, Sefas would catch a glimpse at a rather out-of-place character in the distance... A man who was also dressed in red, but had an enormous hat with what looked like a giant bird quill in it. With white hair flowing down his hat, the gentleman appeared to be a bit older, but the most unusual feature about him was the way he carried himself. He was unusually proud for someone living here, acting like an aristocrat that could have ruled the land anywhere else...
"Tch. Look at that arrogant jerk. Who does he think he is?"

"Shinobi" XXX XXX XXX XXX静かな戦士"the Silent Warrior" Narinthe nodded as they began to follow him. He turned his back upon them once more, and walked forward again. He weaved as if a nimble ghost through the city streets, almost urgently. It was like the man wanted to be back at the barracks, for an unknown reason. He wanted the meeting to begin, so he could get this guilt off of his chest, and focus upon actually completing the mission. It was truly a daunting task. He continued casually, his eyes flickering every so often to an odd sight or two, but mainly focusing before him. However, his eyes laid upon an odd man. It wasn't as if the way he dressed was peculiar, though he did appear to be of the higher wealth class. He was older, his hair a soft white. He carried himself like on one the higher class as well. Perhaps he was merely visiting the city from a city like Aden..? He let his head turn to Sefas as he spoke, before looking back at the man. Sure, he was rather arrogant, but Narinthe wasn't going to gas far as to say he was a jerk for it-- yet. He merely shrugged, and quickly looked at the barracks. Once inside, he could eat the pear he bought. That was the second reason he'd rushed..

When you die, you are complete When you live you must compete Can the light outway the dark Can you go and leave your mark... Kiyoshi Jino Your Prayers are heard --------------------------- The fact that most of the group was right behind Kiyoshi didn't really occur to him. He had much more pressing matters to attend to, and chances were nno one else knew what they were. The doors swing open, and Kiyoshi took a step into the building before closing the doors behind him. He rushed in, and pulled out his key, checking to make sure he remembered what room he stayed in. It was #339. Kiyoshi nodded to the key, and speedwalked up the odd staricase, paying no attention to it's queer design. As he rose up the staircase, the tension and anxiety he felt began to grow, and swell within him. He wasn't sure he wanted to look into the room, in case it turned out that the body was missing. It was bad enough that he kept the body, but a body going missing would pose a great problem. Kiyoshi kept up his quick pace, trying to get to his room as quickly as possible. He had absolutely no time left to waste. If he procrastinated at all, who knew what could happen. Finally, Kiyoshi made it to the room. He read the number 339 on the door, and nodded again, He slipped the key in, and turned it to unlock the door, but much to his dismay, he found that they key turned with ease, as though the door had already been unlocked. He felt cold, suddenly. What scene awaited beyond the door.
Slowly, Kiyoshi pushed the door open. Not a secnd later, a loud, shocked gasp escaped his lips. What he saw was and empty floor, with dry blood and blood stains. What was more disturbing were foot prints on the floor. The seemed like foot prints that belonged to a woman, but what woman would come into Kiyoshi's room and take a corpse? Kiyoshi wasn't quit sure, but the look on his face was definately one of shock. There was no way he knew what to do. He slowly walked into the room, and suddenly began to run around, scurrying about, trying to make sense of what he saw. Finally, he came to a conclusion. Someone had taken the body, and there was nothing he could do about it. He couldn't handle what he had decided, and fell suddenly. He lay silently on the floor, waiting for something to happen. ... Neysa
Neysa's eyes wandered her surroundings as she walked behind Shinobi towards the barracks. She wanted to memorize the place as much as she could so that she didn't have to bother Shinobi again to find her way back. Her gaze fell on the demon as he walked. He seemed to be in a rush to do something. She sighed as she kept up with his pace. Neysa didn't want to loose him and find herself in the city alone again. It wasn't a pleasant feeling.
Neysa glanced over at Sefas when he spoke then looked over at the man that he referred to. She titled her head to the side as she studied the man curiously. She never seen any dressed like him before. He seemed to be much higher on the social structure than anyone around him. Neysa found the feather in his hat rather interesting and wanted to ouch it herself. She hand never seen a feather that large before. How odd...she thought with a raise of the brow. What is the purpose of that? She wondered. It's sooo big. Perhaps he uses it to weave spells...tickle people? nooo....it can't be just for fashion..that would be boring. A small frown appeared on her soft pink lips. Why is his hair white? It looks so soft. What an odd fellow.

Sefas Minos Alchemist Sefas sighed heavily and began walking over to the barracks. "Well... I'm going to go rest for a while... I need it. Badly. That trip to the underworld hasn't exactly been a picnic... Anyone who wants to join me can." He held up his arm and waved slightly... It was pretty clear that he was rather exhausted, as he asked people in the vicinity of the area whether or not they'd want to sleep with him... He yawned heavily as he went up the stairs, holding out a vial and drinking it deeply.
Meanwhile, in the background, the man in the giant red hat took a look at the party and seemed to make a note of them. He adjusted his hat and went to another one of the towers... Oddly enough, the one where Captain Salnesh went for the Council meeting. It appeared he was, in fact, a higher rank in the city... And he liked looking it.

"Shinobi" XXX XXX XXX XXX静かな戦士"the Silent Warrior" Narinthe looked to Sefas, and gave him a deep nod. That was the best course of action for him. He still felt the guilt he'd felt earlier, blaming himself for the damages he'd taken. He also felt even more guilt toward already signing the man up for another mission. Especially one he, himself, was not sure about the success rate they had. His eye had gravitated away from Sefas in his thought, only to return at the last prospect. To join him within the barracks? He debated the idea, but felt as if it would hamper the man's will or ability to rest well. He waved back to Sefas earnestly, lowering his head as he did so, his eye shutting. He stood upright again, his eye sliding open. They had free time before Salnesh sought them out. Suddenly feeling watched, his head turned to where the man was. The man was watching them, before he adjusted the large quilled hat atop his head, and turned to walk away. He noted it was toward the tower in which Salnesh held meetings, and gave a quick eyebrow quirk. Perhaps that was why he was so well-dressed... He turned to face Neysa. He gestured with an open palm to the barracks, and tilted his head with curiosity and a blink. What was she going to do? Perhaps he would go to his own room within the barracks, and eat the pear he'd eagerly purchased. His mouth almost watered at the thought of eating the fruit. But he also couldn't let her go alone--she'd already gotten hopelessly lost once..

In the dark, a horror sounds The devil comes to do his rounds If you live to expectation He'll grant you regeneration... Akumi Jino Your Evil Calls --------------------------- The city was quite something to Akumi. She had begun to adjust to it's odd structures, and suspecting people. Of course, it was really only the women that gave her funny looks, as the men gave different, much more inviting looks. Akumi giggled a bit when men gazed apon her. These people were an interesting group. She walked aroud the city, looking fro something to do. Suddenly, it caught her attention. It was a dingy looking shop, although perhaps dingy was an understatement, looking at the rest of the city. Akumi entered it, seeing as she had nothing better to do. The very first thing she noticed apon entering was a somewhat inviting smell. The next thing she noticed was the fact the store looked as though it had been empty for quite a while. There were cobwebs and dust gathering, and the floors were filthy. Once again, that was really no surprise to Akumi. She had come to expect it from the city. She browsed the little shop until she discovered a wall lined with cute little bottles. She dusted them off to find out that they were some sort of scented liquid. A wearable aroma. Akumi picked up a bottle, opened it up, and smelled it. It was sweet, and nice. It seemed very opposite the city in which it was found. She laughed at bit, and the old man standing around, waiting to see if anyone would buy something gave a weird look. Akumi sighed, and began to smell other bottles. Some smelled of floweres, while some lack any scent at all. Some smelled light and fresh while others smelled powerful and beautiful. Akumi was so enticed by the bottles that she picked up a few, and walked over to the merchant. The man asked her for payement. Akumi let out a giggle. "Payment?" She asked. "Oh, it seemes I left my home without any gold coins. How unfortunate." Akumi's smiled warped a bit into something slightly more sinister. She help out her hand, and suddenly, bolts of black electricity surged from her palms and sped at the man. The man was hit, but did not scream. Only small grunts of paint could be heard from him as he convulsed on the ground. It took about a minute before Akumi was positive that he was dead. He had been quite old, and so it didn't take much to kill him. Akumi laughed. "I guess I don't have to pay." She commented, applying some of her wonderful scents.
It would probably be a few days before anyone would notice that the old man was dead, so Akumi felt relatively safe. She looked perfectly human, and she smelled much less demonic with her other distracting scents. What was left for a perfect disguise. Akumi had to think about it. As she walked aimlessly about the city, she thought about the many ways poeple could sense demons. Scent was delt with, as was appearance. The only thing left fpor her to worry about was her actually magic ability, since that was most definately demonic. Akumi sighed. Another price paid for stealth. Akumi know what she had to do. She muted her powers, making it quite difficult for anyone to sense them, but also making it quite difficult for her to do anything beyond the realm of a normal, pathetic and weak human being. As she walked around, she saw something somewhat familiar. "No..." She told herself quitely when she saw the red hair, horns, and armour. It was the man that had killed her. Akumi decide that it was tiome to check to see if her disguise had worked. Her powers were muted, her scent was masked, and her appearance was altered. Now it was time for a final evaluation. She walked over by the man, and began to speak, not to him, but to the woman standing by him. "Excuse me, miss, but could you give me some directions?" She asked, silently hoping everything had worked the way it was intended to. ... Bestow on them the devil's kiss Let them dine on evil bliss Go out now to serve the fire The devil's daughter is desire

 Neysa
Neysa watched the man dress in the odd clothing walk towards the tower which piqued her curiosity even more. She wondered what he was going to do there? Her gaze fell on Sefas and he spoke and she gave him a small nod before looking over at Shinobi. She watched his gestures and let out a soft sigh "I suppose it is time to return to our rooms. I wouldn't mind sleeping for a little bit..I'm rather tired." she said and started walk towards the barracks when she heard the voice coming from a woman.
Neysa glanced over at her and rubbed the back of her head. "Ah Directions? I'm sorry miss...I'm not from here myself...so asking me directions wouldn't help you any." She looked up at Shinobi for a moment then her gaze fell back on the woman. "I think I would get you lost rather than helping you with where ever your going. " Neysa laughed softly and shook her head. "I'm sure someone else could help better than I can."

"Shinobi" XXX XXX XXX XXX静かな戦士"the Silent Warrior" Narinthe's hand fell to his side as she turned to him, having seen it. He shrugged at her. It was a good idea for the all to rest, or eat--which was his intention. Though all the same, he almost felt an urge to not go back to the barracks at all. Perhaps he could go to the libraries to investigate the available knowledge of the information they were seeking in the morning. But, all the same, he was unsure of when he could get such a decent place to rest again. He resisted his own sigh, before he became slightly rigid from the sounds of a woman's voice, as she approached. His head tilted down to look at Akumi. In the darkness, his eye glowed faintly, the black pupil standing out against it as it lit his skin up slightly. He blinked, seeming not to know whom this woman was--unaware that this was the female he had killed but a mere 24 hours ago. He looked up to Neysa, already knowing she'd be incapable of giving such directions. He lightly waved to Akumi, as if to try to divert her attention to him. He could more than likely be able to point her in the proper direction, before heading into the barracks for his meal, and some sleep..

Harkel Aristocratic Scholar Several hours have past since the encounter with Akumi... Of course, there was no sun to rise to really indicate that the time for sleep was coming to a steady, creeping conclusion. There were, however, the eerie sounds of the alarm bells resonating throughout the Military Quarter Tower Complex to awaken the soldiers and begin their maneuvers for the new day...
Standing outside the Tower was that same man who seemed so out of place earlier. The older man pulled out a pocket watch and flipped it open... The question was begged, where were those sluggish young folk who were supposed to be helping find the Lost Knowledge? The old man furrowed his brow, his face wrinkling further, as it seems to have been afflicted, if minimally, by age. His years did not hamper his pride, however, far from it. It seemed to augment his haughty arrogance that seemed to elevate him on a pedestal like a statue of a god... Or at least, what might be called a god.
He adjusted his gargantuan, red hat, the feather shifting slightly to one side.
"Hmph! Whippersnappers taking their time when there was work to be done... Lady Salnesh told me they would at least be present on time..." Of course, for all his griping, the pocket watch that Harkel was carrying was actually half an hour slow, so whether or not he was on time or incredibly early was unknown to anyone. He leaned on his staff and stared at the tower in what seemed like contempt, as though every second of his precious time was being wasted standing there and contemplating the position of the hands on his watch.
