"Well...so long as I'm gentle...I don't see how I could hurt her right now, she looks pretty tough..." Sin had the urge to give the pumpkin a little shake just to see...except of course if there was ONE thing she knew better then to do it was shake a baby...even a fake one. Instead she gave the pumpkin a gentle prod with her sharp nail.
"Seems okay..." She rubbed at the spot worried she had bruised the pumpkin skin, of dear would they get marks off if the pumpkin was bruised and banged up at the end? She slowly held the pumpkin out to Morton once he proved that he wasn't going to be eating it...or anything else for that matter.
"I like it, Mel she'll be. Here Mel...I suppose you should meet your daddy Morton, don't mind how sharp he looks, I'm sure he's just a big softy." She smirked as she relinquished the pumpkin, except she did stayed leaned forward a bit watching nervously as if waiting for the pumpkin to explode on contact with a male.

Tybalt had napped pretty much throughout the entire class. Missing out on just about everything, including having their partners announced. But what's the harm? It wasn't like he was missing anything too important. Right? That's what he would like to think. However, perhaps having stayed awake and paying attention, even a little, he would have found out some valuable information regarding the little bundle of joy, he and his partner were about to receive.
"What's going on? Did I miss anything?" He asked, rubbing at his eyes. Now that he was finally awake, he could clearly see the pumpkins.
"......."
Pumpkins? Oh Jack. Did babies really come from the pumpkin patch? He gawked in disbelief, wondering how exactly that was even physically possible. Then again... In Halloween, there were so many things that were unexplained and yet, still existed. But really... Pumpkin babies? He was never going to look at pumpkins the same way again EVER again. (( Profile hurr.)) At the shrieking Junko gasped and nearly clung to Sin out of horror, watching the way Cricket treated whatever was making the noise. So her partner was...Hadiyya? Who's she? She blinked and looked around, trying to figure out who this 'Hadiyya' was. Clearly this was a girl, which she was okay with it's not like gender mattered for a project like this or anything. She stood, hoping that in getting up and getting their pumpkin Hadiyya would make herself known...then again she didn't know her so how would she know Junko? She held her arms out for the pumpkin, taking it and looking to where Cricket directed her partner was. Oh.. oh! So she was Hadiyya! Ooookay then! "Your partner is birdboy's chick?" She huffed. "So much drama over there. Can't you ask for a different partner?" Junko frowned back at Her and shook her head. "Of course not. She looks nice. Besides, everyone else has a partner already...""Not that dog chick over there all by herself with Cricket." Junko blinked, shuddering at the sound of shrieking again. Poor ghoul. She tried to ignore it, instead wandering over to where Hadiyya was sitting, their pumpkin baby in her arms. Boy, it was heavy! She smiled nervously down at Hadiyya, glad she had this pumpkin to distract her hands with. "Um..hi! I'm Junko! You're Hadiyya, right?" Awkwaaaaard...Junko had never approached someone like this before!

Igneous stopped walking when Nurse Cricket began her speech.
Children? What? She didn't know anything about taking care of anything that needed care! She felt the beginnings of panic as the reality of what the assignment would entail set in. When the thing in Cricket's desk squealed again she almost wanted to wail with it!
Maladore... she remembered that name from the band competitons. He?...it?... played guitar if she remembered right. She looked around to find her partner already heading to the desk to pick up their charge.
"I hope Maladore knows more about these things than I do or this could be a disaster," she muttered as she made her way across the room.

Malodore turned, pumpkin cupped in its long fingers, only to see the statuesque (literally) figure approaching him. It attempted a polite bow, though it was a bit difficult with pumpkin in hand!
"Igneous, I assume? I am Malodore... and this is... uh." It gave the pumpkin a dubious look, as if seeing it as more than a gourd for the first time. "Our... child...?"
Why did that make the plague doctor's cheeks heat up? Thankfully, its mask and bandages were more than sufficient to cover any blushing that might occur for stupid, unknown reasons. "I hope we will work well together," it added, holding out the pumpkin for inspection.

Oh dear. It appeared their fears were confirmed. Poor Nevermore was indeed paired up with that dreadfully rude undead ghoul. She offered the Raum a gentle pat on the arm as he rose to retrieve his pumpkin, watching on rather subdued as he fetched it and returned to the little group they'd found there selves in. "Oh, isn't that just adorable." Her voice was pleasant, obviously coo-ish due tot he pumpkin, but there was a thread of disappointment there.
It dissipated rather quickly though when a ghoul she didn't know wandered up to them and introduced herself. And she had a pumpkin as well! Their pumpkin! The benign demon brightened up almost at once, sitting up a little straighter from where she'd been leaning to investigate Braum's.
"I am. You may call me Yaya if you prefer." She grinned, holding here hands out for the round ball in Junko's arms. "It is very nice to meet you."
Now that her partner had made herself known, Yaya couldn't help but look the other ghoul over. It wasn't exactly judgmental, at least not actively so, but more as if she was keen to remember every detail. She was very well dressed, and her hair.. Was nice, if not moving on it's own accord. "I quite like your gown, it's very pretty."
If her curious gaze lingered on the squirming tendrils of dark hair a little longer then was polite.. well. It was odd.

'Ye..yes!" Igneous stammered out. "You can call me Iggy if you want to. Some of the other students do and I don't mind." She studied the creature before her. It was unlike anything she had met yet and her curiosity was piqued. After a moment she realized she was staring and she shook herself back to the moment at hand. If stone could have blushed in embarrassment she would have!
"I don't know anything about young beings, I'm afraid. I haven't been around very long and none came to the cemetery while I was there." She reached out to gently touch the pumpkin being held out.

"My... background... does not include much in the way of midwifery," Malodore admitted. Though it privately thought this exercise was a wee bit ridiculous, the fact that it was for Nurse Cricket's class gave it a pass... if only barely.
"Though, forgive my curiosity, but.. not around very long, you say?" The plague doctor gave Igneous an apprising look. She certainly didn't seem undead or ghostly, which seemed the usual way that fully-grown beings entered Halloween Town.

A baby? They were going to raise a baby?
While that was the Spider Demon's first thought, she quickly recovered from the initial surprise. Staring at the name that Nurse Cricket had placed beside her own, Lizzy blinked before chewing gently on her lower lip.
Tahki, Tahki, Tahki... Lizzy paused, frowning a little as she looked around the room - the name does ring a bell, but only because she was sure that she had seen the ghoul in some of the other classes... Raising from her seat, she decided to walk away from the crow in order to have a better look at the students in the class. Wandering towards the front of the class, she picked up a pumpkin-baby from the professor before turning around, hugging the pumpkin to her chest. Then, she spotted someone she had seen during the band sign-ups, a ghoul who was in Israfel's band.
"Tahki?" She blushed a pale pink as she approached what appears to be a Gryphon, sure that she was her partner for the assignment. Smiling, she held out the pumpkin, "Hi, I'm Lizzy... And this is our... Um, child." An awkward pause followed.

Tahki grinned as her name was called out by another ghoul. Oh so this was Lizzy. The gryphon had seen the spider demon before around school but had never taken the time to actually talk to her. Lizzy introduced her to their 'child' as well making the gryphon flush a little pink her self.
"Y-yes I'm Tahki. You must be Lizzy," The gryphon gave a warm grin to both Lizzy and the pumpkin. Lizzy seemed nice enough making this assignment a lot more bearable then the gryphon originally thought it might be when pairs were called out.
The rest of the students seemed to be gathering in groups too and hashing out who was going to take care of what. It seemed like a good idea to the gryphon ghoul that the two ghouls do the same.
"Do you want to retreat to a quieter study to talk about the assignment?" It seemed like classroom was far to noisy a place right now. Not all the groups were getting along like peas and carrots. Not the ideal place right now to start on their project.

"Its been less than two years since I woke up so this is all still new to me," she said softly. "I don't really have a family or anything. I just woke up one day in the cemetery where I had been a statue for centuries. We don't know why or how."
It was obvious that the discussion was a little uncomfortable for the stone lass. It wasn't that she was ashamed of her origin but that she was very aware if how it marked her as different from her classmates - all who seemed to have had families or clans or some type of group to belong to.

"Yes I am," She giggled, relieved that her partner seems to be easy enough to get along with. She was almost afraid to be paired up with someone she wouldn't get along with! Or worse - someone she wouldn't get along with and is not serious about the assignment! Smiling, she added, "Its nice to meet you!"
She then nodded at the Gryphon's suggestion, realizing that the classroom was certainly not a conducive place to raise a child, "That would be nice... Do you have any place in mind?"

The library would have been the answer if the two did not have a pumpkin to think of. Where would pumpkins like to go? It needed to be a place that was both calm but also pumpkin friendly. Where on campus could that be. Tahki looked thoughtful for a moment.
".. Do you think the library would let us take our pumpkin in side?" A frown formed neatly on her pretty little face.

"Well... I don't see why not?" Lizzy nodded thoughtfully as she hugged the pumpkin close to her again; its not like the pumpkin was making any loud sounds after all! Grinning, she nodded again, "Library it is then! I think we can leave now, so... Lets go!"
Pumpkin held close to her in one hand, the Demon then grabbed her partner's hand gently with her free hand before matching out of the classroom, excited to get their assignment started; she even had the perfect bedtime story thought out!
