Gabriel felt his adrenaline starting to burn. Hunting after food was one thing. Hunting after a taur... An idle thought of wondering if this resembled Quintessa's job flitted through his head. Though, they weren't here to assassinate anybody. ...Yet. He didn't even jump as the lighting flashed, eyes locked on his target. Just a few steps away... His hands were fisted, jaw tight, trying to keep himself intact for the sake of bringing the other man in alive.
Running a hand over his smooth head, the yellow fox tried to ignore his acidic gut. How long would it take for those morons to take care of his problem?! Then, suddenly, lightning struck from the- bushes? He ducked as his pals were either hit or ran for cover. He jumped back up to run as well when he found himself facing a very angry looking, though still very gorgeous looking, cattauress. That tattoo! He remembered her now. They hadn't spoken, but he'd seen her when that master dude had passed the job to her. Had it been done? He was almost pleased until he took note of the green body next to the female half a second later. When he did, his stomach sank into his paws, and an awkward laugh peeped out. "Oh! Hey, buddy! Good ta see ya! W-what're you-"
Jaw now clenched too tight to even snarl at the startled idiot, Gabriel's fist shot out and caught the fox right in the face. With that done, he actually felt his body relax a bit. Feeling even better, he started looking around. "Hey, buddy. Got anything in that barn we can tie ya up with?" This was good. Bind the wolf's hands, get him back to the island and the master, and then...
The yellow fox yelped in pain, forced a few steps back from the punch. Hands gripping to his face, he could feel the blood oozing out of his nose. He was about to mouth back at Gabriel, but the unusually furious look on the green fox's face made him rethink that idea. Instead, he focused on the assassin. After all, they probably always looked that angry. "So, z'it common practice fer ya f-ing assassins now ta nab a guy's money 'n' not do the f-ing job he paid ya fer?" He growled, shocked when another fist slammed into his ear.
He couldn't help it. "Shut it! You don't talk to her unless she speaks to you first." He snarled, though he immediately felt his cheeks warm. For one thing, Tessa could handle herself. For another... Well, even if she had been ready to kill him, she was here now, ready to help him defend his good name. He could defend her a tiny bit.... It was probably just his nerves on edge. That was all. Besides, he didn't want something to be said that would cause Tessa to impulsively kill the guy.
He tried to move passed the moment quickly. "Come on. Let's find some rope and get this done." He remembered the key in his bag, and glanced down at the manacles. That key.... He'd love to stick these around his enemy's neck, but.. was he ready to take them off? There was still no guarantee that they'd work.

Quintessa took a quick once over of the scene just to make sure they weren't walking straight into a trap before giving him her full attention. Granted, that was around the same time that Gabriel decided to punch him. She decided to sit back until the worm's life was in danger, chained hand on her hip with a smug look on her face. It would do the fox some good to beat his aggression out, so long as the bald fool stayed conscious.
"Excuse me?" Quintessa was about to tear into his a** with her claws when Gabriel beat her to the punch. Literally. She placed her hand on his shoulder, giving it a squeeze before moving in closer to the jerk. Was it just her, or was Gabriel...No. No, she was just imagining it, but for a moment, it felt nice. Even if she could call her own shots, it was nice to have someone stand up for her. "If I were you, I'd listen to my associate." She grabbed the target's chin to tilt his head up. "We don't appreciate being called in to take care of petty grudges against innocent lives. As far as the Order is concerned, you're contract is up, but me...well, I'd say your head will make a lovely centerpiece. " Tessa dropped her contact with him like he was on fire.
"We can't leave him; he'll just run off again." It seemed simple enough for one to go after the rope and the other to watch over him, but...Quintessa's eyes flashed with lightning as she reached out for his throat, sending a stunning jolt through the enemy's body. "There. If he wakes up before we get back hell will have frozen over."

Hands clenching, extending, and clenching again, Gabriel felt like his skin was crawling. He really did want to beat the snot out of that guy.. but he figured that the less damage he personally did to the guy, the better his case would be. His hands paused as he felt the touch to his arm, and if he hadn't been in such a mood he might have smiled.
Head ringing, his ears perked to attention when the female neared. Associate?! His eyes darkened, looking between Tessa and Gabe. So, that green idiot had managed to speak his side before getting killed. How had that happened? Another set of comments about the inefficiency of The Order popped into his head, but he managed to keep his mouth shut. He didn't want to be punched again... He didn't haver to worry about running his mouth when he was suddenly out cold.
He looked over at the yellow fox, lips turning into a snarl. The idea of losing his freedom ticket now... His brow rose as Tessa solved the problem. That had actually been quite satisfying to see. "I wish I had that kind of magic." He grumped, with a hint of humor that was finally breaking through his stiff mood. It didn't last long though. "Let's get that rope then. Shouldn't be too hard to find."

Quintessa's stump of a tail twitched with her growing agitation. She wanted to fry the b*****d, and it was taking everything in her from going off. As it stood her eyes remained that electric blue, sizzling alongside her spear with energy. Sooner or later, this jerk was going to wake up and when he did...
"No, you don't." Tessa stated simply, flexing her free hand. The action sent sparks of lightning down to the ground. "I'll admit, it comes in handy, but it's more trouble than it's worth. I would much rather have your tail than my magic. It's just so cute." She teased, grinning despite the situation.
With her cackling laugh filtering through the muggy atmosphere, Tessa managed to stalk to the nearby barn without making too many more jokes at Gabriel's expense. Though, the search wouldn't have lasted long; it seemed that rope wasn't in high demand the yellow fox's lifestyle because she found a length of it relatively quickly. "You wouldn't happen to know how to tie someone up, would you? I would do it, but I'm more of a noose kind of gal."

Brow rising slightly, Gabriel looked over at Tessa in surprise. Having magic caused trouble? Wait- ..cute? "Ehh?!" He looked back at his tail, now finding himself drawn a bit more out of his foul mood. Was she serious, or just kidding? ...He was the one kidding himself. She wouldn't seriously say such a thing! He was being tugged toward the barn though, and didn't have any more time to think on it, quickly reminded of why he was there.
He was glad the rope had been found quickly, and simply snorted at the noose comment. "As much as I'd like to let you-" He said, leaving the ending open and he took the rope for himself. "So, what now? I'm pretty sure I won't be able to stay awake until we get back to that island, and I'm also pretty sure taking him back to that crummy inn would be a bad idea." He started twisting the rope around, preparing it for his uses.

Tessa pondered on their situation. She honestly hadn't expected to nab him that night, and the combined efforts of the evening were starting to get to her. She was cold, tired, and hungry; all of which combined made her thought processes somewhat slower than usual. "We need to gag him, so he can't scream when he wakes up. Then we'll get the kill, bring it down, cook it, and take shifts through the night." She shrugged. "That's all I think we can do at this point."

While Tessa pondered, Gabriel felt his belly clench. Like the cattaur, he was hungry and tired. He did feel a little better after punching the fool outside the barn, but it wasn't enough until his name was cleared of the guild. "Sounds like a plan." He said, heading on out.
Spotting the limp body on the ground, he felt a surge of anger again. This idiot... He held the rope tightly, trying to force the anger back down. It wouldn't do him any good tonight. Once every limb was tied, he hesitated. "Should we move him somewhere else? His pals won't take that long to return with support once they realize he didn't get away."

"That wouldn't be a bad idea, except for the fact that I can't see us moving a gagged taur through that town, regardless of how late it is." She tossed a thumb over her shoulder sarcastically. "We could always take him into the woods, but even then they'll find us out eventually."
At least in the woods they would have better cover. Maybe the scent of their kill would cover up his? She pondered on the option, turning her eyes back to the woods. "If we built a shelter it might buy us enough time until morning."

At the idea of lugging a gagged and tied up foxtaur right through the open streets, he couldn't help but to snort in cynical amusement. "Yeah. Drunk as that town seems to be, it'd still be noticed." Ears twitching, he pursed his lips and looked around, head shaking slightly. "Woods would be our best bet." He squinted at the tree line and sighed heavily. "Build a shelter. Never had the patience for that."
Looking down at their catch, he growled softly. "You're more trouble than you're worth, you stupid-" He bent and lifted the limp body while grumbling under his breath, tossing it over his back. "Well, come on then. Let's go find a place to shack up for the night." He grumbled, shifting the added weight as he headed back toward the woods.

"Stupid, arrogant braggart? I couldn't have agreed more." Quintessa grinned and reached down to help hoist the jerk onto Gabriel's back. Once he was secure, she started to walk. "Go up there." She gestured to an outcropping with ample shade and brambles. "It'll be hell to get into, but it will also mean we'll be less likely to get snuck up on in the night."
It wasn't until they were closer that she saw the real damage. Thorns as large as arrowheads littered the area, and ripped into her fur with every passing glance. Tessa growled and tried to push them back with her spear. When that didn't work she tapped into her magic and burned them away, making a hole large enough for them to crawl into.

Looking at the brambles, Gabriel wrinkled his nose but kept his mouth shut. Tessa was right. If they could get in, it would be hard to get snuck up on. It would also make it difficult for the unconscious idiot to escape if he woke while they slept.
Close at Tessa's heels thanks to the manacle, his stretched out arm was getting plenty scratches until the cattaur gave in and burned their way through. He looked back to check on their prisoner, and noticed that the guy's head had been getting caught by the thorns. ...Whoops. Shrugging innocently, he continued on without care. "Well, home is where your rump rests," he muttered, kicking some fallen leaves and branches around to clear the ground for sitting down.

Almost on que, Tessa's rump flopped down, but she kept her torso raised until Gabriel settled down. Something about getting out of a physical confrontation and then trying to calm didn't stick with her. The cattaur shifted, making room for the ugly b*****d to lay down infront of them, but no amount of movement made her comfortable.
So, her mouth took over before her mind could protest. "Surely you have a better home than this." She teased for a moment, then asked in earnest. "What's it like?"

Settling himself next to Tessa, he brushed a few more pointy things out of the way. ..Then he had to pull those pointy things out of his hand. His ears perked as she spoke, eyes rolling slightly. "Weeeeell, yeah. It's a lot better than this. I have a nice feather pillow and thick quilt that my grandmother made for me." Then he took her question more seriously. "It's not huge. It was a decent size enough to fit my parents and us three kids comfortably enough. Surrounded by woods nicer than these ones. It's warm, and welcoming." He pressed his lips slightly, really missing home right now.

Tessa leaned back against a thick root, and settled herself down into the dirt with an arm behind her head. "Oh really? I thought you sprouted from the ground, fully grown, and ready to take on the world." She scoffed and rolled her eyes before kicking him with her paw.
A quilt his grandmother made for him? She didn't even know what it looked like, and already it sounded ten times better than the thing blankets she'd had in the Claw's stronghold. "What are your parents like? And your siblings?" By now she was generally curious. He seemed like a decent- okay, more than decent, even nice guy. Obviously he had to have some kind nice family to make him like that.

"I've been told as much by my brother," he said with a small laugh. "My parents.. Well, what else would they be but amazing? My dad works with potions and herbs, and my mom doesn't take crap from anyone. My brother is the level-headed one, and my sister is a sweetheart." He sighed heavily, looked at the unconscious character, and let out a growl, reaching and smacking the male's ear. He was lucky the guy stayed unconscious!
