"Oh? But it's so late." The man said. Spirit looked up at the sky. A moment ago, it's been a clear blue sky with the sun lighting it up, but now it was star sewn, the moon shining bright over their heads. (What's going on here?) She thought.

Alex looked up at the sky also. He really didn't understand what was going on. He sighed a bit as he looked back at the man. "Fine, I guess we are staying."

The man smiled and Spirit saw sharp canines, "Right this way then." he turned and led them towards a shabby looking inn.

Alex didn't lower his guard. He kept close to Spirit as they walked up towards the "hotel".

Spirit followed closely behind him. She felt some hungry stares behind her, but when she turned, none of the villagers were looking at them anymore. She shivered, still clinging to the back of Alex's shirt.

Alex walked in and led Spirit to her room. As they walked up, he stopped just outside her door and looked at her. "You want me to stay with you tonight?"

Before Spirit could answer, the man said, "No, men and women in separate rooms!" He said sternly, looking up at them. Spirit gulped; she didn't want to be in a room by herself in this strange town.

The man shook his head, "No exceptions, unless you two are married." He said. Spirit blushed lightly at that.

Alex was about to pull out his sword until he heard his last comment. He let go of the handle and nodded. "Yes we are."

The man looked between them. He stopped at Spirit, raising an eyebrow. Spirit nodded at that, "Yes, we just got married yesterday." She lied, giving a soft smile as she took Alex's hand to make it seem real. The man analyzing the two for a moment, "Alright, sleep well you two." he said, leaving them alone.

Alex waited until he was competely out of the way. He gave out a breath of air, almost relieved that he bought it. "That was too close." he said with a chuckle. "I didn't think he would buy it."

Spirit gave her own breath of relief, "I'm just glad he did," She said, just now realizing she still held his hand. The girl blushed and took her hand from his, "Sorry." She said, taking out the key and unlocking the door.

Alex smiled as he walked inside the room with her. It wasn't big, but it was enough to support both of them. "Well...at least it beats us being in diffent rooms."

Spirit nodded, "Yeah, the thought of the man possibly coming in here if I was in here alone really scares me." She admitted, sitting in a chair.
