'Oh, God. And here comes my sorry-a** attempt at comfort.' "Um. So . . . What actually happened to make you . . . not like girls?" she asked awkwardly.

It took Rae a few moments to process this. "Let me get this straight," she said slowly. "You were attacked by a girl. And now you have an intense fear of them."

"Um. I hate to break it to you, but girls get raped at a young age. They don't develop an irrational fear of men," Rae pointed out.

Artie Hopper "...Your point?" Artie replied blinking a bit, he had always been a shy person, and was sometimes uncomfortable around people, but that incident really pushed him to the breaking point.

Rae sighed. "Never mind." She was beginning to wonder if Artie was actually a female . . . He seemed to be as sensitive as one.

Rae nodded. "Ah. Okay. Um. Sorry?" She reached out to pat his - her - shoulder awkwardly, before realising that it would probably make him - HER, DAMMIT! - feel worse. She was officially convinced. Artie was a girl.

Artie Hopper "Yeah, the scar goes diagonally down from my left shoulder to the right side of my belly...See?" He said sighing a bit as he lifted his coat and shirt up, revealing his chest and stomach and the large scar on it, and from his chest, you could easily tell he was a guy.

'Hmm . . . Maybe she had plastic surgery to look like a guy?' "What the hell did she do to you?" Rae asked in disbelief, staring at the scar.

Artie Hopper "She attacked me with scissors, I fell backwards and his my head on a corner in the wall." He replied as he thought on it, pulling down his shirt and coat in the process.

[8 Xander DelMaer 8] -Species: thunder/lightning demon Grade: college freshman Abilities: thunder/lightning manipulation, R.E.M.R.-'no! no! don't press the red button!' Xander had his arms crossed over his chest, listening to the conversation play out between Rae and Artie. "..." Sure, the thunder demon had a period of time where he avoided girls...but that's because he was a guy; it was a general consensus among grade-school boys that girls had the 'dreaded' cooties.
"While I will agree that girls can be violent at times(no offense, Rae)," he began, speaking up. "That's no reason to be afraid of 'em entirely, Artie." His hazel-hued eyes fell on the young boy. "Mark my words, man; in time, you'll learn to at least live with 'em, much less get along with girls." His eyes darted up to look at Rae. "Again, no offense."'...I wanted t'press it~'

Artie Hopper "Why do you think I came to a co-ed school and not an all-male one? It's because I want to lose this fear.." He replied back to Xander with a light sigh.
