Bast and Mononoke sped across the desert. A sandstorm briefly engulfed them, but they soon reappeared on the other side of it, still heading northeast. The winds were blowing fiercely.

Alvard, panting to the extreme and very tired, nevertheless continued his trot towards his wonderful village... and the hotsprings therein.
A blur shot by, heading for a nearby coastline...
A day or so later, the same blur went back the other way, almost faster than before if that could be believed...
