-Blaire Vatonage-
Blaire's peace was interrupted soon enough. Quite cliche, might it be added. The glance at the waves, watching them reach the shore at their pace. It really was a nice day out, too bad there weren't much people to spend it with- "Ah?" The young woman quickly caught her balance before falling on her behind. Her gaze had been staring at the waves when someone bumped into her, though it was now looking up to the male in front of her. Oh... Not bad... at all. "It's fine" she said, still looking at him. After a second her gaze drifted to the hoodie he had on. And she had felt off with the t-shirt... Her head tilted to the side in curiosity, opening her mouth to speak. "How are you not dying in this heat?" she asked with a somewhat curious smile. Well she wanted to know.

Reed's eyes were busy scanning the girls body when she began talking. Even though she was dressed, the man could still appreciate what he was seeing. Although he snapped his eyes back to her face quickly as to not seem like he was being inappropriate. Besides, somehow looking at women had became odd when he began thinking about them being someone's daughter. Truly being a father was a curse. But, thanks to all these thoughts, Reed had kept himself pretty preoccupied. He didn't even feel the heat. Actually, he had been quite comfortable. "It's not so bad once you get used to it" He replied to her with a chuckle. Reed was always a summer person, so the heat didn't bother him much. Though more importantly, the hoodie kept him from getting sunburned! What a hassle that would be. And since he was pushed out of the house so quickly he didn't even have sunblock. How unsafe for the beach... "Plus the breeze keeps me cool," He added as he grabbed the top of the hoodie as if he was showing it off. He then put on a small grin, "Besides it's good to have, just in case I meet a pretty little lady who's just a bit chilly."

Well Blaire was more of winter person. Or any moment that involved a breeze or kept her cool. But the guy did have a point, nothing a little endurance wouldn't fix. Which was why she would still prefer the cold. A small laugh came from the female upon his last words. "That might be a little hard to find at the beach though" she told him, returning that small grin. "Unless of course the little lady was just faking or something. You know, girls do that, and quite often." Of course they did! She did that all the time just to steal Lucas jackets when they were at school. Never had Blaire been cold, though seeing him freezing his butt off because he was a gentleman, was a big plus.

"Very true" Reed replied with a more genuine smile. This girl sure knew what to say, "Of course they do, otherwise a guy would never have a chance to be a gentleman." A very true saying. It's as if girls and guys just fall into that cliche so easily now a days. How boring. Thought certainly Reed's life was not much better. Though... You could say it had gotten boring. I mean look at him. Any other guy his age would be partying at the beach nonstop on their summer break from college. Here he was wandering around pitifully after barely leaving his house since moving here. When did he become so boring? He would have sighed at the thought. However, he was talking to a woman, it would be kind of rude. And besides, a more entertaining thought popped into his head. "Hey... I'm not really into playing in the water so I've just been walking the shore," He started as he pointed off into the distance, "But, being alone is pretty boring. Why not keep me company? If you let me, I'll even try my best to be a gentlemen." There was no point in going home if Alt was taking care of Erika... So why not play a little?

Blaire smiled at that. "Oh I don't know about that. A true gentleman would make it happen. He'd find that chance" replied the female, tilting her head to the side. He was a rather good looking guy, which made keeping her focus on him quite easy... and rewarding. "Really? That makes two of us" replied the girl as he pointed off into the distance. Really, the beach was rather nice. But alone? It was kind of pathetic... His next words intrigued her, causing another smile. Almost flattered, if you will. "Why... that sounds nice. However you're not exactly off to a very good start" said Blaire, pausing for a moment to let him think. "Every gentleman knows he should introduce himself before anything. Otherwise it is just plain rude, wouldn't you think so Mystery Man?" Now that, had a small grin at the end.

The girl's first comment definitely brought a smile to the man's face. He thought it before, and he thought it again. This girl really knew what to say. Reed felt a a rush of relief as the girl continued. Girls like this were really refreshing. Nothing like those stuck up ones in the city. Plus she was good looking. Which seemed to be even rarer in the city. Though this island seemed to have quite a selection of pretty girls. The turnip man made sure to point that out during the tour when he first moved in. Though, this girl seemed more his speed. Plus her hair proved that she had to be pretty fun. Plus... "My bad" Reed responded with a laugh, "To think I asked out a lady before learning her name." ...This girl knew how to joke around. The man moved his right hand towards his pockets. His cigarettes were in that pocket so it was a habit of his to move his hands there. It often occurred when he really didn't know what to do with his hands. Somehow shaking a girl's hand didn't sit right with him. Was that sexist? It just seemed weird. "The name's Reed," He introduced himself with a wide grin, "Whats yours, little lady?"

"It's all right. You compensate for that with a spontaneous date" said Blaire with a light chuckle. Now that was really new. Her own hand held onto the edge of her shorts pocket, the other still busy with those flip-flops. "Blaire" smiled the white haired girl as they kept walking. "I'm guessing... you're not from around here. Are you?" She should know after all. Spending time with Kade equaled gossip of all, whether she cared for the person or not. The guy needed to tell someone, and it usually coincided with touching up her hair. Still, with all the new people it was hard to keep track of them.

New huh... I guess Reed was still fairly new to town. "I moved in about a season ago," He replied as he kept pace with the girl, "But I haven't really gotten out much." Everyday consisted of taking care of Erika, arguing with Alt, trying to work on his articles, and discussing his living situations with his aunt. Everyday was mostly the same. And when he did go out for a change, it was almost always with Erika in tow. Unlike his cousin who was out almost everyday, Reed had become a homebody. How depressing... However, this was no time to be self-loathing. At least for now the man had scored a little bit of time with a nice young lady. "I'm assuming you've been here for awhile?" He questioned. It only seemed natural for someone who had already been a resident here to ask someone they've never seen if they were no. So that seemed to be an appropriate response, "This town sure is full of abnormalities." Even though he had only been there a season, and only left his house a couple times, Reed had been wrapped up in some weird stuff. This town had given him anything but a normal life so far.

Of course, even Blaire would recognize the male if he wasn't. Sure this last season she had been watching munchkins, which left her little time to do anything. "I'd scold you, but I've been the same." Yeah, Reed might've been depressing himself with being a homebody, but she was just a babysitter! Oy... "A good while actually. I was born here, and I've been tumbling around ever since" answered Blaire with a nod. Except the last two years, but little happened so it wasn't that important of an absence. Blaire couldn't help but laugh at that comment. "Only a season and you already got it?" she replied with an amused smile. Either the guy had some weird luck, or he was intuitive, but to grasp Nirvani-Sonata's abnormal status, and stay? He had guts. "Trust me, it gets weirder." It would. It certainly would.

A kindred spirit huh? It was somehow pleasant to know that it wasn't just him always at home. Though the next comment surprised him. Born here? She was probably the first person he had met on the island who actually was native to it. Well maybe the Turnip couple was... But, he never got around to asking them. And from what she was saying, Reed wondered what kept her here. She obviously knew that this island was trouble. I mean like stated, it only took the man a season to figure it out. He lets his daughter play with a boy while he has a friendly guardian to guardian talk, and next thing he knew he was part of a kidnapping case. Not to mention, all the strange people of the town. It was amazing that this place was still up and running. Which is why when the girl went on to her last comment, Reed laughed a bit. "I can't imagine it getting worse, but I'll have to take your word for it" He commented, trying not to think about what 'worse' was. However, afterward he took his fist and bumped it onto his chest boastfully, "Though I'm built pretty tough. I'm sure I can handle whatever comes my way." His comment came with a wide grin. Besides, it's not like here could be any worse than his old life.

Oh it could. It could get worse. Must she recall the Masquerade? The Wedding? The Festivals? Her love life? Yeah Nirvani was trouble, chock full of it actually. Blaire raised both brows at that comment, trying to stifle that amused chuckle. "Oh I hope so. Because you're in for a wild ride... unless you plan to stay in your house. Then you might keep your sanity" commented Blaire, shrugging ever so slightly. There were a few souls that were still all right... then again one of those had almost been raped... in the church... so... "Ah, it's important to warn you. The mayor. Is a lunatic. And his brother. Do whatever it takes to avoid them. They are basically the reason all hell can break loose" Although Blaire was smiling, a tad nervously at the thought of those two, the tone was rather serious. All could be predicted, except those two.

The whole 'stay in your house thing' hit close to home for Reed. That's all he had been doing until now... And yet he was still being dragged into weird stuff. Though somehow, the fact that the mayor and his family being a bunch of crazies didn't phase the man. It seemed kind of natural for a crazy town to be run by crazy people. However, no one they could be as bad as that nutcase who kidnapped that Shinju girl. That guy was insane on many different levels. "I'll make sure to watch out for them," Reed replied with a nervous smile to match hers. He really hoped that he didn't have to run into them anytime soon. Though in terms of good things, this island certainly had to have some. "This islands so messed up, and yet theirs all these pretty young women walking around" He commented, half flirtatiously, the other half actually making a point. He had might quite a few attractive women when exploring the town, "There's gotta' be somethin' attracting you girls here."

Blaire laughed a bit at the comment. "You know, you have a point. It might be the water, making us all pretty for you guys..,. and some guys really, really weird." Surely she meant Dante. She had idly wondered if her two year absence would make him tone down, but the minute she stepped to get something from the store she was proven wrong... "Or maybe they were all kidnapped and brought here expecting their prince. Does that make sense to you?" said the woman, trying to keep a straight face, though it resulted in another laugh. She shook her head, considering how silly that sounded until something came to mind. "No no no! I know what it is. See, this island has a curse. You can't leave it, not after spending a season here anyways... Which kinda means you're stuck with us" Blaire told him with a slight grin. Oh of course she was kidding, but those coincidences were much funner to pin to curses and stuff she didn't believe in than to look for an actual explanation. "Now for the guys... I don't know. What attracts these handsome guys to this place?"

A season huh? "Guess that's true, though being stuck with you doesn't sound to bad" Reed said to the girl with a wide grin. Though seriously, being told hes trapped on an island of crazies didn't seem to great. Though maybe the fact that he survived the first month meant something. Like a trial. Maybe he had proven that he was strong enough to survive the island... Hopefully. But, it's not like he had a choice. His aunt was paying for his living expenses, so Reed was going to live wherever she put him up. That's right, that was really the only reason he was on this island. "Well if I had to come up with a reason for the other guys... It's probably to meet the pretty girls" Simple logic. Though, it's pretty obvious that it wasn't true. And Reed's joking tone showed that, "But as for me. I'm quite different." It was true after all. The man wasn't looking for a girl(to settle down with), just here to raise his daughter. That's why he spoke with confidence, "I'm a man of much higher priorities."

"Isn't that sweet?" chuckled Blaire at the first comment, laughing soon enough at the next part. "Oh are you?" asked the woman with a raised eyebrow. "Of higher priorities... Well I wouldn't know anything about that. I'm more... low-key if you will" she told him, stepping ahead of him to turn around and walk backwards. She didn't speak for a few seconds, as she was making sure her steps were good and she wasn't close to falling over anything. "Now then, you made me curious. Being such a man of course..." Blaire didn't really have much to worry about right now. Her job, her hobby, and occasionally looking over Rune. That was about it.
