[edit] For those of you with tablets, any recommendations as to a good one? 'tis my day of birth this Saturday (nineteenth), and I'm thinking about getting one as a present to myself. xDD And if so, any estimate as to how much cost I'd have to whip out? ireeeallywantone.

I use one myself, and they are really good. "The bigger the better" is not what matters if you aren't intending to work professional with it. Mine is 6x8 I guess and that's perfect. But there are both bigger (up to A3) and smaller. This site is good: www.wacom.com Prices vary, but around $99 - $200 is something you should expect. But, you can always buy one second-hand too.

TO GET USED TO.
it takes along time.
formeitdid anyways.
AND.
i have a wacom.
it's small and puny for
the big price of $100 and
i don't like it being so tiny.
mine's a 6 x 4 inch big drawing
section on a table that's bigger.
they get bigger, 10 x 8 i think,
but they are also expensive, $200.
but you can get used to thelittle ones.
i know there are other
tablets out there, cheaper ones,
ones that
slip my mind at zee moment.
but i hear the drawing pen is
very heavy to use since you need
to put two AA batteries in it. for
most of them at least but you get
a nice big drawing area for the same
price as a tiny wacom table canvas.
wacom pens are very light.
and the pen is more important
than the size of the drawing area,
in my opinion. i'd pick wacom's
high price over the heavy pen.
but that's just me.
and you can put a picture behind
the plastic on the wacom tablet.
