Sam Avery...

Sam was tired after the long day at work, but somehow set her mind to not sleep at all. Whether she denies it or not, she was really freaked out about the dreams she's been having. Am I really that messed up inside? she thought, nursing herself with strong black coffee and a cigarette. She looked out the window, and saw the pitch-black sky, and the moon hiding behind the night clouds. Stifling a yawn, she got up and grabbed her keys and leather jacket. She ran down the steps to the garage, and went towards a black motorbike. In one swift movement, she hopped in and put the keys in the ignition, bringing the machine to life. Putting on her helmet, she throttled the gas and sped off, into the streets.

Fenix laid his head down on the pillow and closed his eyes. He let out a sigh and drifted into a deep sleep. The Shift seemed to wash over his mind, engulfing his mind and surrounding it. He opened his eyes to the colorless ceiling and sat up. The couch appeared to be worn and tattered. He waited for Caddy to walk into the room. The door shuttered a bit, but instead of opening, it fell off the hinges ending in a loud crash. Caddy stood there half in shock and surprise. Fenix broke a smile and caught himself from laughing. "Sorry.. That's never happened before, to be honest. C'mon, the park isn't too far away." He put his hands together and as he separated them a wooden pole appeared to connect his palms. As he neared the end of his reach, the pole quickly became his Bardiche. The two of them went down the stairs of the apartment and took to the streets. As they turned the corner there was a large pack of fiends, eight or so of them.
He quickly stopped in his tracks and kept Caddy back behind the wall. Slowly, he backed away the way he came. They had yet to notice the two of them, so he didn't want to make any quick movements. They continued backing up about a block. "We'll have to go around the other way" It was a longer route, but hopefully it would be less populated.

Leon kept up a steady pace, watchful for any dangers in the alleyways and around corners....the park was just a block or so away now. As he glanced back to make sure Serrenedy wasn't too far behind a Fiend lunged through one of few windows that still had glass and tackled Leon to the ground. The teen was quick to react and knock the dog-creature away then shift his bladed staff and make a clean slice through it's chest.
As the Fiend fell Leon quickly glanced around and through the window it'd come from for others...they were either hiding or that one had been a scout or outcast. He groaned quietly as his shoulder had a minor flare of pain when he moved it.. the Fiend's claws had pierced his skin, but it wasn't too deep and he could take care of it when he 'woke' in the real world along with a few other minor cuts from the broken glass.

Leon glanced back at Serrenedy, "..come on..it'd be bad to linger here.." he said as he turned and started walking again.

Even with Sam's determination and perseverance, her eyes where starting to feel like dead weights. She squatted on the ground, resting her head on her hands, her cigarette slowly turning to ashes, completely forgotten. She started to sway, eyes closed, sleep steadily approaching, when her blood went cold, hearing a menacing laugh somewhere at a distance. She suddenly felt the darkness of her surroundings pulling her in. No! I'm not going to sleep! she gasped, her eyes opening wide. She stood up suddenly, looking around frantically as she heard the laughter grow louder and louder. Stay away from me!!! Sam roared, as the park grew darker and darker. She began to run backwards, when she tripped on a raised platform and fell over, hitting her head hard. In an instant, she became unconscious, as the last thing she heard was the laughter ringing in her ears, her head continuing to spin as she entered the Shift...

Leon scowled slightly as more Fiends came out of hiding and glanced at Serrenedy for a second, "I said it's bad to linger....not walk that way...coulda jumped back to the rooftops.." he said as he spun his bladed staff and had a brief staring contest with a circling Fiend....it was interrupted by the beast getting sliced in two by Fenix. "...who says 'howdy' these days?" was his greeting to Fenix before he saw another Fiend coming. Leon quickly spun his staff, then twisted it a little and threw one half the Fiend, impaling it, then pulling the connecting chain and drawing the Fiend in, finishing it off with the other half of the staff.

[So sorry I haven't gotten the chance to post in the past week, things have been hectic. I'll try to post tonight or at the very latest tomorrow morning. Sorry again ><]

The fiends regrouped and surrounded the four Dreamers. A swarm of whelps circled overhead, hoping to feed soon. Fenix and Leon made the first moves. Fenix brought his blade down and swung it horizontally, slicing through three pairs of legs, leaving the fiends immobile. Leon charged in, swinging his weapon back and forth when he lost his footing and fell forward. Surprisingly enough, only one fiend jumped at him and Leon rolled out of the way. The whelps above saw an opening and swooped in covering leon. He swatted at them to no avail and another fiend jumped into the torrent, slicing leon's throat. His body twitched as the look of fear spread across his face and the whelps all converged on the dying body. In the real world, he took his last breath as the mind turned black and violent.
"LEON! Damn it, we need to get out of here now! Let's get to the park before he goes nightmare!" Fenix yelled out to the two girls. And another poor soul looses itself to the shift. Damn it all

He wanted to tell her to end it before he turned, but he couldn't. 'No time, You might be consumed in the transformation if you get too close. We need to go" The fiends began to flee and the whelps returned to the sky. They knew better to stay away from nightmares. Fenix had seen a nightmare tear a fiend in half just for getting in it's way.
He nodded toward Caddy and took off toward the park. "C'mon!"
