"Ah, I am sorry... I was reminiscing... what time is it, anyway?" Amaya stretched and rolled her shoulders to shake off the fatigue that had crept over her.

"It's dark outside, so I think its pretty late." he said as he looked through a window. "The moon is in its wane." he said softly, then turned to Makoto. "We must retire for the night. Jaa Mata." he said with a wave, and stood. His legs were a bit numb, but he had more than enough strength to walk around on his own.

Makoto sighed then smiled.
"Well, I came from a village called Hinata...Hinata no Onsen. There was a retired geisha who has settled down in our quiet mountain town, but she would always entertain the children and participate in festivals around the village, I guess as a thank you to her new home. I was mezmierized everytime she danced, I personally was a bit of a tomboy never thinking I could be a geisha. Sadly....one day my village was attacked by raiders warring against the city just over the mountain pass. I was the only surrivivor. I didn't mourn long my mother taught me never to be sad for too long or you'll miss the new open doors and opportuninties. I thought, perhaps I could fufill my dreams of being a Geisha. I am happy to say I have become what I have dreamed of being."

"This is a sad tale... I am sorry to hear that, but I also admire your strength and determination... I would love to learn more of your life at the daimyos palace... maybe some other time, perhaps? So... Jaa Mata, Makoto-san!" Amaya bowed in farewell, then stood and peered through the window. "The rain has let up..." She walked to the door and held it open for Solice. "My offer to accompany you still stands... I think a walk would do us both good..."

Solice agreed, and bowed slightly towards Makoto. "Have a good night Makoto-chan." he said then turned towards Amaya. "Sure, that sounds like a good idea." he said as he put his hand out to motion for her. "Ladies first."

Makoto smiled and bowed.
"I'd love to talk about it, gives me an excuse to talk about it. Jaa Mata."
Makoto waved the two off finishing her drink before returning to the other Geisha.

kairisesshy "Everything alright Ronin-san?" Kyoku looked back towards him, her eyes glinting with a touch of concern. I look at her and say sadly. I am fine, just not used to being around people. (Read journal for more info. Sorry it took so long to respond. I'm working on getting the internet on-line at home.)

((no prob, ive been so busy lately))
A slow smile spread over her lovely face, the candle light playing across her delicate features. "I can only imagine the things you have witnessed. I was raised here, my mother was a geisha. I was born into the life of a geisha as was she. I never knew that others suffered horrible fates outside of our floating world till i was eleven. My mother decided i was old enough to travel and meet my father. I only knew that he was a high ranking man in the army." Kyoku's eyes drifted downwards, settling on her draping sleeves.
"To get to him, i had to travel thru an area that had just witnessed a horrific battle. As i rode along in my cart, wearing fabulous kimono, hair ornaments jingling, i happened to peek out the curtained window. I saw...." Kyoku shook her head suddenly, covering her mouth with her hand. Squeezing her eyes shut for a moment, she composed her self and looked back to Ronin. Smile painted back on her pulled her fan out of her obi, snapping it open. "Well, what am i babbling on about? I must be boring you to tears!" She took a deep breath and began to fan herself.

Including yourself, my lady. I said polietly. I was intrigued by her story. Please continue. I say gestering her to sit and taking another sip of my sake. (Question how do I get one of the siggies like yours?)

Nitta listened to her old friend's story, shaking her head softly. She too began to fan herself with the fan that she had forgotten as Kyoku told her story. Their eyes met for a brief second and Nitta gave her a small, comforting smile.

Makoto quietly lowered her head, she too starting to fan herself.
"That must have been terrible Kyoku-san."
She muttered not knowing what to say.

((im not sure, we were having a discussion on who was going to start doing it, maybe Nitta-san knows ^_^))
Kyoku smiled back to nitta quietly, and fanned her blushing face as she was complimented. "Thank you so much Ronin-san." She smiled brightly now. "I must say, im fond of you to!" Kyoku sighed softly, her smile fading gently. "It was so terrible there. I suddenly understood why my escort kept burning incense. You can imagine how foolish i felt, stepping out of my carrige, completly dressed up in the flashy maiko outfit. When i visited my father, it was all the style to wear two kimono as a maiko as well as elaborate hair ornaments! Apparently the lower soldiers did not know that my father had a daughter as assumed i was a yujo! Of course anyone with any taste, could have looked at me and known the difference, but to them a young girl in expensive kimono must be a whore!"
