He smiled sadly. "I don wan wai." He said softly holding his throat with his good arm. He scribbled on the paper again. "It's a good thing I didn't take you this morning or else you would have been hurt too." The nurse returned to room carrying the bags from the mall. "These were brought by the police when they moved your car." She set them down and left again.
In one of the bags it was Kaito's cell phone ringing.

♫♪Yume bit her lip even harder this time, almost crying. 'That's so nice of him.' She thought. She turned her attention to his bag. "Do you want me to get that for you?"

"Please." He managed to say. He had a sneaking thought that he knew who it was going to be and he didn't want to tell them what had happened.
He had been asked to record a new song and there was no way he was going to be able to do that again with his voice like that. He was going to get fired and with that feeling he covered his head with his blanket and gave small raspy sobs.

♫♪Yume reached into his bag and answered his phone. "Hello? Oh, uh, Kaito? Umm.." She looked at him. "Kaito's in the.. shower.. yeah.. In the shower right now? Can you call back later? Thank you!"

"Thank you." He managed to say pulling the blanket off his head. He didn't know what to say anymore and he was starting to get tired again but he wanted to talk to everyone as best he could. He kept fighting the sleep as he rested his head against the pillow.

With Yume stroking Kaito's hair, he gave a small yawn as his eyes slowly closed and he drifted off to sleep surrounded by his friends and family.

 Kagamine RinSchocked,the Kagamine bursted into tears."You can't s-sing anymore...?"She repeated as she looked at Yume."Yeah...maybe we should just let him get some sleep..."She mumbled as she looked down at her feet and tears rolled down her face.

Miku nodded and walked out with the others. As she left, she took one last look at Kaito. Kaito-sama... she thought, get better really soon, okay? Sing again... if I can never hear your voice again... she stopped mid-thought. She didn't want to think about it.
After resolving to be optimistic about Kaito's recovery, she followed the others out, dragging her feet slightly and avoiding the eyes of everyone she passed. She didn't want them to see the tears that were pooling in her eyes.
...I was a digital bit VOCALOID, but you gave me song and soul.

When everyone had left the room Kaito's dreams had gone from peaceful to nightmarish. He was standing on stage with a mic in hand when no sound would come out of his mouth. Everyone was booing and when he looked at the audience, it was comprised of his friends and they had mean faces.
Dream Miku looked at him and stuck out her tongue. "I knew you were going to suck Kaito! You're so useless!" The other members of the household started chiming in with their own insults.
"Horrible voice!"
"So stupid!"
"We hate you Kaito!" This one repeated in his head until he opened his tear filled eyes.
