It's all good now, though, all's well that ends well. I should put up more of the contests, but I'm really lazy right now...maybe later...

Blue, is there any way that you could, maybe, refrain from using all caps? It sort of hits you in the face like whoa. xd

Hey, hey, hey! This is your wonderful captain talking!
I was looking over some posts, and noticed our little poll up above it seems that some of us have lost a loved one to cancer. Since this thread is lacking a bit in the acivity department, I would like y'all who have lost a loved one to cancer to tell us a story from those dark times. Any cancer. something to touch our hearts. This is totally optional, and you don't have to do this. I will personally post my own stories first. To show that I trust you all with my own stories. I have my father's memorial posted in the memorial section. It isn't done, but I am hoping to finish it by the end of next week. Check it out and hold my father in your hearts so he is not just another forgotten fighter.

Sorry for being inactive, school's back in. Joy, right? Anyway, I worked a leukemia-lymphoma benefit concert tonight, uploading the picture when I have more time.
As Nerdy has requested cancer stories, I'll share a couple. They're all pretty short. One, my Grandaddy got kidney cancer some years back- not his cause of death- and was fine because he had a truly miraculous doctor that found the cancer by feel before anyone else thought there was even anything there. Another, sadder story, is that of my former sunday-school teacher, Lisa Escott, may she rest in peace. She had aquired some form of cancer, I'm not sure what, but her hair fell out from treatmen, and eventually died, immediately after the Lord's prayer had been finished by our pastor at her bedside. Perhaps I should have told the stories in opposite order; I don't intend to change them, though. Anyone else willing to step up to the plate?

I! I intended to post this right after my last post, but my mom kicked me off.
My father was diagnosed with lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin's to be more accurate. He was very ill all the time from the treatment. He wore a beanie all the time to avoid his head becoming cold. Any way, that laast day he was more sick than usual, so my younger brother and I were sent to our grandparents'. As my father was approaching the last minutes of his life, my mom called the ambulance. His heart stopped beating before they could arrive and they had no luck bringing him back. As they were taking him away, my mom asked my older brother, "You wanna say bye-bye to Papa?" My brother was sad, but he knew where Papa was going. His reply was, "No, Momma. Papa is going to Heaven now." His reply made my mom cry, and made my grandparents cry when my mom told them.
'Twas lymphoma that took my father's life. And every father-son moment I could have had in the past 12 years.
