SalShe nodded and turned on her heel to walk back up the stairs. Taking them two at a time, she was entering the room when she heard the fall. It was a sturdy fall - landing on two feet. Searching for Vas with her eyes, Sal found him looking a bit out of it. There was a ladder which had probably been the source of the scraping but there was Vas by his equipment, some distance away from the ladder. "What did you do?" she asked, crossing the room in a couple steps and sitting on her previous stool. "There are customers downstairs, you know. Anyway, Nami said that she doesn't mind the music and if you want to start the party sooner, you can do that too." Spotting the wires that had not been there before, Sal stood. "Uh, do you need any help? I can't just be the dancer. I want assist in other ways as well." Her mind traveled to being a child again and for a fleeting second, she did feel that small, vulnerable, hurt. Nami had been the favourite with her perfect grades and everything else. Sal was used to not being regarded by others as nothing other than she wanted to show them. Sometimes though, part of her wished that they would just stuff those assumptions where the sun don't shine and give her a chance or two. Not wanting to show this though, Sal hopped up onto the bar and swung around till she was looking down at the man, with her signature smile. ((Ooh, computers are fun.)) Jesus is my Lord ♥

Vinccent
Vincent stood in the middle of the square and sighed. Business was slow and he was in dire need of entertainment. A flyer blew across the ground and he stepped on the flashy paper and with a grunt bent over and plucked it off the cobblestone. Party eh, all day. Well that seems like the entertainment I'm looking for. Vincent's eyes flashed in the light, the bright blue turning green for a fraction of a second as he found the café.
Only a short walk brought Vincent to the front door and as he walked in a bell jingled. The place wasn't overly crowded and smelled of fresh baked pastries and coffee. He breathed the aroma in deeply and began to hunt for an employee to inquire about this party.
Vassili
Vassili looked up at her and smiled briefly.
"I uh jumped off the support beam. Didn't want to balance all the way back to the ladder." He pointed up to the twelve foot high beam.
"Sure you can help. I'm just wiring the lights to do some tricks when the music plays. Strobes flashing in time with bass, lasers and multi-lights flickering with the chorus and guitar." She was on the bar now, smiling at him. For a second he was over come with he desire to whisk her away. Then he failed as his logical brain took over.
"Up there are six massive black lights. What I want to do is paint and grid on the floor. Say twenty by twenty box, with four by four grid lines, in black. Then fill the boxes in with ultra violet paint. So when the fluorescents are out and the black light on the floor glows here, in the middle. It'll be cool." He was behind his equipment wiring strobes and lasers.
"There is paint back here in this closet," He pointed to the closet behind him. "Spray paint mostly. I think your sister had an idea like that. Lots of black and ultra violet. I'll help you in a second."
((Yeah. I have been trying to avoid the field, my dad is a Network Manager. Grown up with the damn things. Anyway now both Naomi and Sal can post yay!
Another thing. Would it be out of line if I post something in the chatter box about recruiting for an RP outside the guild?))

((Really tired. Will post characters' responses at a more coherent time. As for your question, I don't see a problem with that except for the fact that people hardly go in there. Would you like to try in the Home Base and if anything, we'll just move it, okay? Later...what to call you?)) Jesus is my Lord ♥

NaomiThe bell rang again. If it was not her own business, the insistent bell ringing would have vexed her already. Naomi wiped her hands on a nearby towel and went to greet the latest customer. The boy appeared to be five years younger than her, at least by physical measures. She smiled at herself before greeting the young man. "Hello, good day, sir," she said, her voice soft and polite, "I'm Naomi, the owner and how may I help you? Would you like some pastries or even a cup of coffee? It's still fresh." Her eyes glanced at the party flyer in his hands. "Oh, I thought you were here just to eat. Um, if you want to know more about the party, just go up the staircase in the back to your left and ask for Vas." Shrugging at him, Naomi made to turn away, already thinking of whatelse she could do for those who were taking advantage of the first floor services but turned back, "Before I leave, is there anything else that you need help with?" Sal"You jumped." She still could not believe it as was shown by her face still looking up at the beam indicated. Of course, his mysterious manner would have her believe that sooner than believing that pigs could fly or something as far-fetched as that. Sal gulped but turned at his acceptance of her offered help. She listened attentively as he explained his goals to her. The concept of black light seemed a bit oxymoronic to her but she was not exactly savvy with this stuff. Her eyes darted to the closet and without thinking about it, Sal threw herself off the counter and planted her feet solid on the ground. "So, essentially, I'm painting over the tiles?" She walked around him to get into the closet, seeing the numbers of spraypaint cans, groups of different colours. She grabbed a few of the black cans, some ultra-violet and numerous sheets of scrapped newspaper. Once out by the bar again, Sal rested her equipment on the counter and waited for Vas since he did say that he would help her. The chance to use spraypaint again was making her giddy. She loved art. Vincent
Vincent looked at the young woman. She was brunette slightly covered in water and the owner. Already a good start. Maybe the party could wait. He leaned on the counter, his eyes drinking her in, then realized she had asked him a question.
"I'll take a large glass of soy milk, if you have it, and maybe a pastry of some type. You choose. If you'll join me for one to that would be nice." He pulled some money out, way to much what he ordered, but he didn't care and slid on the counter.
"I'll be just over there, by the window." He walked away, smiling. He was right, this was the place to come for an interesting experience.

Vassili
Vassili let her past and finished wiring the system together. With a flick the white lights went out and the black lights glowed to life. The white lettering on his suit glowed brighter. Sal's clothes mimicked. WIth a press the strobes flashed on at full and the lasers and party lights stayed on. Then he introduced a bass line only. The strobe began to flash with it, and as he added a chorus the laser pulsed brighter and lower. Finally a guitar lick made the multi lights change to the notes.
"Something like that. Now the floor." He let the music continue, but the lights turned off and the fluorescents came back on. He grabbed one of the cans of black paint and began pacing out the boundaries, marking the four corners of the outer square.
"Okay then, you take those two lines, I'll do these two, then I'll mark out the grid." He was on the other side of the room.
"Toss me another two cans of paint. The outer only needs to be one spray thick, but the inner lines will be two thick." The image was in his head, and as soon as she saw it, she would love it.

NaomiNaomi scoffed at the apparent arrogance of the boy as he walked away from her. What was it with men and giving her free money? She separated the cost of his order and pocketed the rest. She would make sure to return it to him. After ringing it up, the older woman walked over to the fridge of drinks and pulled out a large bottle of plain soy milk before bagging a cheese pie for her latest customer, stupid flirt. "Here is your order, sir," she snapped, not hiding the fact that his little invitation for her to join him was not welcomed. Naomi placed the drink and pastry before him and pulled out the rest of his money onto the table. "Also, keep your money. I don't need it and I will not be joining you any time soon, probably never. Just thought that I would put that out there if my tone had not already done the job. Enjoy the meal." With a last long glare, Naomi walked away and stood behind her counter, waiting for a normal customer to enter. ((Edited for the sake of Naomi not being a complete b***h.)) Jesus is my Lord ♥

SalSal watched intently as Vas played around with the lights and music until he had reached the level of interaction between the two that he had wanted. After that, he was doing some shifty dance across the floor which turned out to be him marking out the squares. It was still lost on her what exactly he wanted her to do. "Which two lines, Vas?" She looked up at him, her head already hurting a bit. Despite this though, she threw two more black cans over at him but then leaned against the counter, pouting at the fact that this was not computing. It was probably very simple too. Her eyes rolled involuntarily. Jesus is my Lord ♥

Vincent
Vincent, was shocked at first, then cooled off as she walked away. His mind ran though possible causes and came to a couple conclusions. She was either a lesbian, at least there was twenty five percent chance at that. She had been hurt by a guy in the past, sixty five percent, or she was just a b***h ten percent. So either way, the odds were stacked high against him. He carved through the pie and downed the glass, leaving his change on the table and began up the stairs she had indicated. Thought better of it and went back downstairs and leaned against the wall, staring at Naomi calmly. His gaze steady and hungry.

Vassili
Vassili caught the cans without looking and then wanted to smack his forehead. With a sigh he walked to the dot he had marked out and then thought better of it, and headed over to Sal. He leaned against the counter and gazed steadily at her.
"Wanna see something cool, before I show you where to start?" He didn't wait and twisting his wrist up showed the imbedded LCD in his wrist.
"This is what thirty thousand pounds buys you in a experimental lab outside Dover. Internet connectivity, bluetooth and a few other things. Fully functional and touchscreen. Fifty two hour surgery to connect it properly and keeps charged using your biochemical energy." He called up a program and began drawing on the screen. Marking out the grid he was imagining.
"Alright, the entire thing is twenty feet by twenty feet. Seeing as this place is nearly forty feet by forty feet. Your sister got a great location, don't know how and I'm not gonna ask. I think this floor actually connects to the other buildings, but there is only one staircase. This leaves a fifteen foot gap between the dance floor and the bar, and my booth. Twenty feet to the staircase. The inside will be turned into a grid. Four feet by four feet. Each square. See." He finished the design and held his wrist before her.
"Simple clean and will glow amazingly under the black lights." He had forgotten about the voice commands in the screen and the black lights turned on the fluorescents off. His eyes shifted under the ultraviolet light to brilliant violet.

SalShe sniffled as Vas approached her and set his gaze on her. It was unnerving for the lack of a better word but she nodded dumbly at his question, wiping at her dry eyes with her sleeve. Her eyes widened at the screen that was actually in his wrist. He then proceeded to rattle off a bunch of features that really did not bother her. She was more interested in the drawing and being able to visualize this thing. "My sister has her ways," Sal whispered to herself, listening to the verbal layout as well as concentrating on the screen as he drew it out for her. By the time that he was wrapping up, Sal had a clearer idea of what she was supposed to do and one of her hands had found his chest, probably just for support. When the lights went out and the black lighting was back up. Maybe it was the silliness of her shining shirt or the fact that Vas had helped her without judgement but either way, Sal found herself with both arms around the man's neck and leaning in to hug him. The eye colour change had not been bad either, she thought, letting out a small chuckle. "Thank you." Jesus is my Lord ♥

NaomiShe could kick him out. It was her cafe after all. Naomi continued to challenge her latest customer's gaze with a blank stare of her own, praying silently that someone would just burst through that door already. She blinked. Her other option was to ignore him but she had already obliged the b*****d by looking back at him. It was an insult even to suggest turning away from him now. Keeping her face neutral, Naomi allowed her mind to wander. He had a great pair of blue eyes on him and his build was not completely awful. So, why did she hate him and every other guy that had tried to be nice to her? From experience, she had just stopped expecting it and refused to believe that flirtacious men did not have an ulterior motive. Recognizing her usual frown that was associated with these thoughts, Naomi straightened herself and walked around the counter to stand in front of the man. "What do you want? I told you where the Party Hall is and for whom to ask. You have had your meal and yet, you insist on standing here and gaping like a hungry idiot. If you do not go about your business soon enough, I will have to throw you out - personally." She did not know why but the idea of the act seemed rather satisfying. However, to him, her face appeared stern but collected. Jesus is my Lord ♥

Vassili
Vassili was slightly taken aback by her hug, but slowly wrapped his own arms around her form. How long since he had felt a woman's touch. Fifteen twenty years. His bio suit was stiff and plastic and kept her warmth away, but he could still feel her. Slowly he let her go and with a click of his teeth, the lights wink out entirely for a few seconds. His eyes staying violet allowed him to gaze around the room. It was violet in his vision, points that were brighter, were hotter. She was near white when he looked back at her face and then the long tubes of the fluorescents flickered on and his eyes were red again.
"That... was nice." He chuckled and pulled away slowly and stopped where she needed to start.
"From this point to that point. Then from this point to that point." He pointed to the two other marks on the floor in black and the one he was standing on.
"I'll do the opposite side. Then mark out the inner grid." Vassili moved to his own mark, shook the black spray paint can and began laying out the line.

Vincent
Vincent heard her an shook his head slightly. Definitely been slighted by a man. Classic signs of hostility and defiance. What a shame. Well he knew one person who could break that, himself.
"A guy can't stand and wait? The flyer said all day party, well I don't here any music coming from upstairs, so obviously it hasn't started. I'm not one to be the first to show up, ever." Vincent smirked at the threat. The odds were that she would toss him out, but he knew how to sweet talk his way out of anything.
"And two, you would toss out a paying customer, who happens to be doing nothing? What would that look like to another customer? And three, let the hair down and take a compliment. Just because most guys are scum, doesn't mean we all are." He leaned in a little and was no just a few inches from her.
"You try to hide behind a facade of confidence around men to be accepted. Some men take that as a threat, others find it attractive. I happen to be part of the latter. See you at the party." He turned on the spot and began up the stairs, his footsteps nearly silent.
