The game. Hands down.
The movie was a lot of fun, but I felt that the characters besides Cloud and Tifa were kind of inserted at the last possible second. And the little Elena time we had made me sad.
Though, in the movie's defense, those graphics take a long time to produce. I can see why Nomura didn't want to go any farther. If he wanted to make a three hour epic, we'd probably wouldn't have seen the movie until next year.

I don't think I could choose between the two. FFVII is my favourite game, and AC is my favourite movie, lol

They were both big hits in my book. I really loved the movie (mostly the fighting)!

I still like the orignal more but in AC they were jumping about like the gravity had vanished although the film was good

i think that both of them were excellent but wen the remake of 7 it should be as great but gotta wait and see

Advent Children has taken the win for it. Its better becuase more things get shown throughout the movie than the game.

Cerberus of Chaos i think that both of them were excellent but wen the remake of 7 it should be as great but gotta wait and see Remake? Hmm. On my myspace page I got a video from Crisis Core I believe about it coming in 2007 for the PSP I heard from a friend of mine.

umm, how about liking both?
and the movie is not "unfinished" or "loose-ended", they left the storyline open for sequels and games to follow.
Personally, i'm waiting for them to realize not all the world has cellphones and PSPs, and we low-techs need Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and all the other bits and pieces in a PS2 version.
and why does no one start these polls over "Original" versus "Last Order"? Hmm? Last Order essentially just retells large parts of the game as an anime, at least AC is an entirely new story.

both really good but in A.C.they should have been stronger they make cloud do every thing....lol the stress

The AC movie and the FF7 game can't be compared directly because they are two different things. The game was a revolution to the industry that Square had already been revolutionizing. 7 was unique in it's use of cut scenes between action that filled in the story line, and the movie is a cinematic masterpiece made to be purely eye candy, but they did a good job of sticking to the characters and original story.
The thing I am dreading is the Advent Children release ff7 game, I am not sure how well it will hold up compared to the original. Many will be bigger fans of it simply for the graphic eye appeal, but will not actualy compare the gameplay style.
Ever since 7 Square has been slipping in the quality of their games, and I for one am a bit more than concerned if they will remake it properly considering how badly their battle systems and gameplay have been getting in the recent FF series.

I love them both, but I feel the movie should have been longer. I feel like they left some things out and that it wasn't finished all the way. I have questions that need answering! Did Cloud and Tifa hook up(calle me a p***y I don't care) Is Sepheroth(spelling off, I know) gone for good, and what about every body else? You only saw them for about three seconds at best in the whole movie! The video game however, justs blows my mind on awesomeness!!! The ending wasn't the best, but it is still the best video game I have played! The music is awesome in it. Infact I am lurning still more fighting (boss battle music) on guitar, and it is amazing! And I just realized That I am rambling! All in all, the video game is better.

dragon_sword I also have to agree the were both great but AC just left me wanting more. I think they're equal, and they have an FF7 anime now called Before Crisis. And I think the way AC ended left it perfectly.
