FF9 had the most pointless final boss. Aside from that, I really enjoyed the game.

Well, you're almost lucky... You still got a whole true Final Fantasy game to experience. And when I say true Final Fantasy, I mean with world maps, random encounters, turn based combat... You know, all the good stuff that made FF awesome in the first place. AND one that's in 3D with gorgeous environments, and art direction that's in some ways, better than FF8. So you still have something to look forward to.

Yeah, I haven't beaten the first six either, but still, the firsr three won't exactly deliver some really deep storytelling or anything, right? Well, maybe I'll get a DS sometime this year and get those 4 and 6 remakes.

6 i dont think its out on ds. i know 3 and 4 are.
as far as i can tell 1-3 are pretty much the same about the story. 4 crystals, 4 warriors to save the world some may differ a lil like in ff3 u also had warriors of light and warriors of dark. and class's.

Hmm... That's weird... I could've sworn it was remade... Hmm... Maybe there were a lot of people who WANTED it to be... Or something... Weird... Ah well.
If I remember correctly, there was something different about FF2 though. At the very least, the characters were all preset, like there was the hero, a female, and some other ones... I'm pretty sure they could still assume different jobs, but from what I recall, there wasn't even a unified level up system. You leveled up skills.. So you could like, use Fire your own party members and your "Fire" spell will get stronger that way. Or something of the sort.

No, not necessarily remade. That's how it was in the original too. You level up your skills, not your overall characters.
