Merasha nodded with approval towards both Daras and Rena. She pointed at one of the axes, glancing at Daras. "Well, if you can make just a simple shield out of the metal of that axe blade for Rena, she still should be able to carry that and other weapons to throw down." She rubbed her hands together. This sounded like a much more foolproof plan than summoning a bunch of demons to break her out.
Talmaya busied herself, getting some of her supplies out. From a small velvet drawstring bag she took out an old stone mortar and pestle. From a larger pouch tied to her waste she took out bundles of various herbs tied together by their stalks. Finally, she took out a bottle of a golden, sweet smelling liquid and poured it into mortar. Then she introduced some of the leaves from the herbs. Quickly she ground it all into a brownish-green paste, occasionally looking up to see if anything alarming had come close. Taking a break from this, she dished out a more fresh looking plant which leaves where thick and hollow looking, appearing to have occasional notches. From up her sleeves she took out a spool of bandages and unbound them, tearing segments off. She then broken open one of the noded plants and squeezed a clear liquid onto the bandages in preparation.

"Any particular style for this shield? Any particular details? You know thickness, shape? I am good but not without anything specific. Also, you might want to take a weapon to defend yourself with." He says while already having seperated the axe from its shaft. "If it is this bad on our first day here, I can only imagine what the future holds. Any weapons you are particularly skilled with?" By the time he he finishes talking, he is holding a well crafted, round shield. Emedded in it are six small spikes, arranged at perfect opposite around the edge, and in the center is the rune for elemental air. On the inside is a specially crafted gauntlet that Rena can use to protect her arm, and carry the shield. Each finger is jointed at the knuckle, and tipped with a small claw. The shield is about one foot across, the spikes are 3 inches long and the symbol in the middle about six inches. "Here, my little beauty, a shield personally crafted, just for you, by the High Prince. Such a gift on my world is renowned the planes over, for there is no craft better than mine. That is no boast." He says, presenting her with the shield.

Joe kicked the mage off the end of his blade, but made no move against the remaining two mages. There were two reasons for his course of action: first, he wanted to make sure that Krisa was all right, if he could do so without offending her honor. Secondly, and more importantly, Joe wanted to take a look at the abilities and styles of those that would be his comrades for this mission. It was important that he knew what they were capable of so he knew if he could trust them to have his back.
He stepped back to Krisa, though his eyes were on the mages in case they stopped focusing on the others. "How's the wound?" he asked, looking down out of the corner of his eye and smiling. "I think I have the most kills, at the moment."

Her eyes were practically sparkling as she watched him craft the shield/gauntlet, and once he was done with it, she looked like she was on the verge of exploding with happiness. Taking them carefully, she thought about what weapons she had been good with back in the forest. "Thank you very much for this! And for weapons..Well..I was good with a bow and arrow..Kinda sorta.." She had been able to fire her arrow at least, but without the help of her magic to 'nudge' her arrow on the right path, she was a horrible shot. When it came to fairies that her master could have summoned, she had gotten the 'bottom of the barrel' so to speak, as she wasn't very strong in anything except maybe cuteness but that was hardly useful to them.

Looking at Rena, Daras guiltily admits, "In, truth when I asked about weapons, I was speaking with Merasha, but that is good to know. Unfortunately, even if bows could be constructed with metal, wearing that shield, you're not gonna be able to aim properly. Personally I would choose a lighter weapon for you. A dagger, maybe a mace." Daras begins to mumble a bit, barely understandable, "Yes, then.... what if... but can..." Looking around, "Sorry, I go into my own little world sometimes." He knocks on his head as he says that. "I'll be right back."
Turning to the pile of weapons, Daras picks out a pair of good sized axes. He then turns and rather abruptly flings them at the two remaining mages. He turns back to Rena, "With a little training, I'd imagine you would be fairly good with..." He lets it linger in the air, as he looks pointedly at Rena, thinking hard, "A spear. Yes you have the perfect figure of a spear adept. Assuming, that is, you have someone to train you in the art."

Krisa carefully got back on her feet, shaking off the pain. She was careful about putting any pressure on her twisted paw, but was able to compensate by spreading her weight over her other three.
When the mages came at them with the salt and medallions, she couldn't help but roll her eyes and snort in laughter. "Really? Do they honestly think that some minuscule rocks and symbols are going to stop us? What idiots."
She cast Joe a look when he spoke to her. "I'll survive. And it's sheer luck." She crouched and was about to go after the remaining mages when she saw Daras' axes flying toward them. Deciding it might be best to stay out of the way, she paused to let them cut their path first, ready to spring as soon as they were gone if any enemy remained standing.

"Luck, huh?" Joe said as he readied his stance as well. Krisa might be able to attack faster than him, but there was no way she could kill both before Joe took one down. It all came down to what the axes did that would decide who got the final kill here.

Merasha's face fell a little when he mentioned a weapon she was good with. She fidgetted a little and then gave a little shrug. "Well... anything blunt really... I'm... I'm uh... not a fighter. Never have been. Don't think I will be... LOOK at me!" she pointed at herself, then made a downward sweeping motion with her hands, bringing attention to the large body that her loose robes and cloak were fitted over. The loose material did nothing to hide that the woman was large underneath, and not in the muscular amazonian warrioress sense either. More in the if you poke her, it would jiggle and ripple all over sense. Her tail swatted side to side in irritation.
Having seen the other mage snatched and tossed by a mere tail of one of the unglodly beasts they were facing, the salt throwers ceased in their senseless tradition, dropping the bags of salt and take steps back. One rose his hands as if to cast another spell, only to remember they canceled the magic in the room. The other hitched up his long robes and started running for the door in a very undignified matter. This luckily aided in his unintentional evasion of one of the two hurling axes. The other mage, however, was not quite so fortunate. He saw the axe and tried to sidestep out of the way, but not quite enough and the axe blade met with his forearm. There was a howl of pain as he was pushed back from the force. He grabbed at his arm, holding it tightly before the laceration; the rest of his arm dangling down almost perpendicular, being held on by only a little skin and sinew. The mage stumbled uncertainly as his blood freely dripped to the floor, and slide down what remained of his arm, soiling his robes. All he could do was stare obsessively at the wound, as if he couldn't quite believe it was his arm, and he began making a sound someplace between a shocked mumble and a painful whine. He seemed oblivious to anyone or anything else in the room as he fell backwards onto his rum, still holding his mangled arm.

Joe flashed forward with a victorious grin and slid to a halt in front of the first mage, that had evaded the attack. He refused to kill the wounded one, and he wouldn't strike a fleeing opponent from behind if he could avoid it.
"Remember, this was your fault," he said merrily as his sword inscribed a glimmering series of slashes and chops into every possible area that the mage could go.

Rena put on her gauntlet shield and giggled as she looked at her now clawed hand. She didn't think she would be able to get close enough to an enemy to use the claws, but they did look really cool. Smiling, she ran over to the pile of weapons and picked up a few of the spears, since she didn't think she would be able to throw a sword very well. The spears were heavy enough for her, so once she had four in her arms, she nodded and said. "Wish me luck!" Running into the room, she took to the ceiling and looked around finding, to her disappointment, that there were only two people left and one seemed like he was in really, REALLY bad shape, while the other was being attacked by Joe. Taking the easier, wounded target, she took one of the spears in hand and hurled it, hoping it would do something to him.

Seeing that Joe had taken the fleeing mage, she waited until after Rena's spear had done it's work before going after the wounded mage. "Even the enemy shouldn't have to suffer," she told him before aiming a bite at his throat with the intention of finishing him off quickly.

((Due to life, I might slow down a little, and posts might not be up to the same standard as before. I apologize in advance.))
The wounded target indeed was the easier one, and the hurled spear made contact with him... but not anyplace lethal. Another scream could be heard as the spear hit his knee and then deflected off of his kneecap and fell to the ground with a clatter. The strength in the throw was not sufficient to lodge it into his leg. Seeing that cat woman bare down on him, the loss of blood and shear shock he was in made him subdued, and barely an attempt to defend himself further was made as his throat was torn out.
The fleeing mage tried to skid to a halt. However, with his momentum he nearly fell backwards, only barely managing to catch his balance. This distraction served him unwieldly, and he fell easily to the slaughter of Joe's blade.
Talmaya put away some of her supplied and carefully bundled up the salves and bandages she had prepared into her arms. She stepped out into the main foyer now that the danger had passed and called out. "Lady Krisafia... may I tend to your wounds?" She held up a roll of pre-medicated bandages and gestured for her to approach.
Merasha finally came out from her protective hallway, looking at the slaughter that lay before her. She mopped her brow, having not realized how much she had perspired under the stress of the attack. She let out a very long sigh and shook her head, glancing over towards the door that had been shattered prior. "I think we might be in the clear... for now..."
...And yet the anti magic field had not been lifted...

Rena frowned when her spear didn't have enough power in it. If there wasn't a anti-magic field, she would have been able to make a small current to boost the spears speed, but that wasn't the case here unfortunately. Flying down, she put down the rest of the spears and went to her master with a small smile. "Eh heh, I think I might need a little more practice throwing..I aimed for his chest to kill him quickly, but I hit his knee instead."

Joe looked around the room carefully. "What's still blocking our magic?" he murmured, mostly to himself. He didn't like having his magic power blocked; while he was a plenty dangerous warrior without it, his main strength lay in his overwhelming magical abilities, and he wanted to use them.

Stepping away from the dead man, she spit the blood from her mouth. When Talmaya asked if she could treat her wounds, Krisa looked around quickly to make sure that it was safe, then nodded. "You may. Thank you." She walked over and laid down, beginning to lick the blood off her fur.
