Pyro didn't hear him, as she was already soundly asleep. It was now quite obvious that she had lied earlier. She slept in the saddle as it she had never slept a night out of one her entire life. Bale, consequently, was beginning to slow down and was eyeing the grass alongside of the road.

Meri smiled faintly as the donkey started to slow.
"What say we be stoppin' Rayel?" He indicated the slowing donkey, who's bridles Meri scooped up as he walked along.

"Sounds good," Rayel said slowly, eyeing the thief with a small smile. She was only human; it made her happy to know she was right. Shaking her head (such were not the thoughts of a paladin), she turned to Meri, changing her smile for one warmer and more genuine.
"Honestly?" she confessed, turning her horse off the road, "I prefer making camp. I always ache after sleeping in the saddle, and become useless for hours."
She eyed her canteen disparagingly as she tied up her horse. "I think I'll go for some water," she said, "I can hear some water nearby." Rayel hoped the walk would help clear her head; at her monastery she had spent several hours meditating in nature, and it had never failed to help her spirit. "Do you need your canteen filled?" she asked, gingerly searching Pyro for her water container. Her thieving skills were rusty, she hoped the woman didn't awake and get the wrong impression.

((Bale=old fat warhorse, not donkey whee ))
Pyro, a thief herself, was awoken by the work of another artist of that field, at least former. But she wasn't great at keeping a calm head. She started suddenly and fell off the other side of Bale, landing with a thud and a spray of sparks indicative of a misfired spell. She looked up at Rayel from the other side of Bale. "What do I have that you would want to take?" She managed in a disbelieving voice. Her dagger was safe in her boot and her shield and double scimitar were on the side opposite to the one Rayel had been searching.

((Sorry, my bad))
Meri watched with amusement as he started setting up a tent for Rayel while she searched Pyro and the resulting sparks.
"She's lookin' fer yer canteen. Might'n be a good Idea t' fill it up. There's a stream nearby and we decided t' camp."
Meri continued stringing up the tent that he wouldn't use. He didn't have a use for it in all honesty. His guise might be affected by temperatures, but his sleeping allowed him t dream of things that he did not wish to dream.

"Right, that..." Pyro slowly drew herself up and took the canteen out of her saddlebag, which fell flat and empty when she removed it. "All yours." She smirked and handed the empty container to Rayel.

The woman raised an eyebrow, but didn't respond. Quietly she took the canteen and walked to the stream, already feeling better as she put distance between herself and the others. After filling the canteens, the knight seated herself on the ground, and began to pray.
Nearly an hour later Rayel rose, realizing she had been gone for a long time. Quickly she gathered the canteens and returned to the campsite, feeling extremely tired.

Meri nodded as Rayel returned to the camp.
"That tent's yours," he said quietly, pointing to the tent he hbad set up earlier. "I'll be stayin' up and watchin' fer ye."

She nodded wearily. Earlier Rayel had volunteered to stand first watch, and she was very glad Meri had forgotten that offer. The knight nearly crawled into the tent, muttering, "Thank you," before disappearing in its folds. It was not the proper courtesy due him, but Rayel trusted the dragon to understand. He had not yet been angered by her familiarity, at least not visibly.
However, as soon as she was comfortable on her mat, Rayel found herself wide awake, staring at the overhead canvas. Strange thoughts floated through her mind, the late night thoughts that came only to the sleepless. Daydreams of the time following her healing were prominent in these thoughts, and the knight realized she was still wearing her helmet. The mask seemed almost a part of her, and Rayel placed it close to her, more secure in the knowledge it was within arm's reach. The cold air felt good on her face though.
She gazed at the cold metal visor for a long time before falling asleep.

Pyro had set up her bedroll under a nearby tree and was sound asleep under a worn blanket that had seen better days.

Meri sat and watched through the remainder of the night, often singing quietly to himself. If the others ever heard the song, they would have hear something akin to a lulabye.
At first light, Meri started preparing some porrige, flavoured with various herbs, over a small fire.

Rayel crawled out of her tent, feeling slightly grimy as she pulled her helmet on. "Hey," she muttered, heavy with sleep, "did you stand guard all night?" The knight seated herself on a nearby rock, watching Meri cook, occasionally yawning.

Pyro just kept sleeping. She mumbled something about goblins and grilling in her sleep before rolling over and off her bedroll without noticing.

((From your comment, Mekaama, I remembered an article about combinations. One was burning hands and a flask of oil. The last line was. "A raging goblin barbarian doused in oil is counted as very flamable"))
"No' really. I sat all watch though." He smiled at Rayel. "I no' be needin' as much sleep as ye do. Do no' fret, we dragons have amazing endurance." He didn't feel the need to tell her that sleeping let the rage enter his dreams.

Rayel nodded in what she hoped was a knowing manner. "If you didn't have the rage, I think I might hate you," she said, her mind still clogged with sleep. "Is there anything dragons can't do?"
The knight sniffed the air, an expression of displeasure crossing her face. "Other than cooking." She grinned at Meri, letting him know she was joking. Whatever the contents of the pot were, it smelled very good. "What're you making?" she asked, wandering over to the pot.
