Wait I have one more question. Say you generate a number and get a psycic type. You want a Espeon but you don't know if that counts. Can you only get eevee for normal?

Sorry, from the Partner Assignment the Pokemon that is your partner has to be first stage, so in order to get an Eevee you would have to roll a Normal Type.
Keep in mind though that you are allowed to choose a Pokemon that is half Psychic Type as well, it doesn't have to be only Psychic Type. Here's a list if you need it, but remember, only first stage, and no Legendary of course: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Psychic_(type)

I have a few questions :3

1. How does the business of creating a new team go?

2. Can a team gift another team with items, or recruits, or eggs, etc? For example, a person who owns two teams wants Team B to have a grass recruit and has one "First Stage" recruit or something similar (an egg) in Team A's inventory. Can the person owning both teams transfer the recruit over? (Did that make sense...?)

3. I had another question, I'm sure, but I forgot it ;w;
PostPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 9:27 pm

1. Same as making a new team when you join the guild. Pick a captain, roll a partner. You can also make teams from pre-existing members, just make sure to ask Shawn before making such a team. Or me, whatever.

2. Yes. We have shared inventories among teams, so feel free. We've set the precedent for it in the past and I doubt that's changed.

3. I can't help you there! o 3o

Just thought this may be helpful for any persons who had a question, but didn't want to bother to check the previous pages if it was already asked. If you don't want it, go ahead and delete it. Edit/Update as needed, If you please. Some questions/answers were editied (as in simplified) or moved around to try to avoid confusion.

Q: Where would I get a Lunar Ribbon?
A: You could either get one as a reward from a mission, or save up to buy one from the Kecleon Shop.

Q: Hey after you complete a mission can you still reserve one, or you have to wait a day prior to getting your mission?
A: Please wait a day. It's really not that long a wait, anyway. (A day after it is completed.)

Q: where can we sell stuff?
A: Under Kingdon of the Sun > Kecleon Brother’s Wares. Items to be sold will be bought by the store at half price (all TM’s at 1000PD)

Q: how long beforehand do we usually get told about an upcoming Chapter, and around what time of the day do they start and end?
A: I (Chaos) try to warn at least a day [or a few] in advance to chapters with an announcement. We usually have them on Saturdays around five, (Updated: Fridays at 7) normally they dont last longer than four hours.

Q: story-wise, can It be possible if members of the guild to disappear from a Chapter, and return in the next?
A: As long as you don't do any drastic changes, like evolving them or changing their moveset while their gone, you can have them disappear and reappear.

Q: what is the required number of pokemon we have to fight? (During Missions)
A: You need to fight one Pokemon per floor

Q: Will eating seeds fill Belly Slots as well?
A: Yes. 0.5 slots.

Q: Is it okay if we fight two pokemon on one floor and then none on the next?
A: This is allowed. Mostly because some people, like me, don't even RP the dungeons as containing floors. To me, it doesn't really make sense for things to have floors unless they're artificial, so I just consider the floor number to be the minimum number of enemies I need to defeat, and that's it.

Q: I’m having a hard time discerning whether the concept of slots is something limited to the team or to individual pokemon.
A: Its per team, you don’t need to multiply by the number of teammates

Q: for the bounty list, do they count for the wait-one-week between missions as well?
A: There’s only a three day waiting period between bounties.

Q: Do bounties require food?
A: No.

Q: Does the ruling family have some sort of family name / last name?
A: Eclipse is their last name

Q: Is it okay if I do "The entire [insert pokemon/pokemon hybrid here] Moveset" thing I've seen around here?
A: That's perfectly allowed! Feel free to edit your Pokemon's movesets whenever you like - the only moves that are not fair game to add whenever to your profiles (and must be added via TM or Move Tutor) are those it is impossible for them to know in the games.

Q: do we have to have a partner Pokemon?
A: Yes. Partners are required. Just roll for one in the Partner Assignement thread. Granted, we cant force you to RP with one but you cant start til you and your partners profiles are mad.
You RP a whole team, if you didnt notice.

Q: Do we have any restrictions on picking Pokemon (besides the obvious ‘legendary’ restriction)?
A: Stage one evolution only, you get to evolve them later. Yes, we don’t allow you to have Legendaries either.

Q: Can we put both team members into a single post or do we have to put them in separate posts?
A: You may format your forum as you please, just use the given Template. Aside from that its yours to decorate as you see fit.

Q: Can you have a 'team' of just one Pokemon?
A: No.

Q: Do we have to pick Pokemon from a specific group for our “leaders" as well? I.E. can only pick from a list similar to the one in the actual game?
A: You may have ANY first stage Pokemon for your leader.
This guild is inspired by the games, but we dont use every aspect from them. We try to have some originality without ruining the PMD idea. ;3
Which brings another point, our characters are not human turned Pokemon, but just Pokemon themselves.
[Unless you'd prefer a human-turned Pokemon]

Q:
If you had a Nincada as a recruit/partner and had it evolved… how would this work out?
A: you’d get a free Shedinja when you evolve it.

Q: If you've already completed a mission this week, can you still participate in the chapter?
A: Chapters are in a entirely different set from missions, so you may participate in them at any time despite having done a mission already.

Q: After rolling for type, do we pick our partner (as long as it fits the type) or does a mod choose for you?
A: You can choose your Pokemon, as long as it’s the proper type

Q: Some Pokemon in the games evolve by trading, rather than by leveling/happiness/stones/nature. There is no rule to be found pertaining to this. So, how would that be done?
A: I believe we have a "Link Cable" item for Pokemon that evolve by trading.

Q: If I wanted my team to fail on purpose, for plot/character development purposes, without meeting the failure critera, what would happen? Would my team still get the failure losses (half PD loss, etc), and everything else?
A: I'd still remove half of your PD but that'd most likely be all. I don't speak for all the mods, but in my opinion it's unfair to take more than that if you follow the rules.

Q: Can missions be done solo?
A: Yes (they sound kinda boring to type but go ahead)

Q: could you do a mission with another team?
A: Collaborating on missions with other people is perfectly fine! However, it is often difficult to coordinate, and all work and rewards (PD, items, mission points, recruits) must be split evenly.

Q: Is a 15 floor mission worth 2 points, or 1 point?
A: The number 15 is rounded up to 20.
So a 15 floor mission is worth a total of 2 points.

Q: If a Pokemon evolves through trading while holding an item, do you need just the item it holds, or the Link Cable item as well?
A: If a Pokemon is evolved by any form of trading that requires a held item. Just the held item is needed.
For example: Haunter evolves to Gengar without the need for any held item so it just needs the Link Cable.
Dusclops is evolved into Dusknoir by being traded while holding the Reaper cloth item...so you just need the reaper cloth.

Q: In the dungeons, is it okay to find a monster house?
A: Of course! In fact, the majority of roleplayers here do fight enemies in groups when doing a mission

Q: I don't know how to start out... I mean, do I post an introduction somewhere? Or should I just, you know, start a mission?
A: You can leap right into the mission. If you wanna do some roleplaying with others first that's a fine idea, but you can go straight into your first mission if you want.
If you don't really know how to go about starting the mission itself, then a good way is always to have them check the board itself.

Q: Alright, some members of my team wanna split off and create their own team and I know it's been done before. Wondering how the Mission points would work. Does the new team carry over some Mission points from the mission/chapters they've participated in? Does the old team lose any points?
A: The team starts out with the same amount of points that the Leader him/herself has. If you haven't kept track of which missions/chapters the Leader has been in, then take a logical, honest guess. The old teams loses no points.

Q: Also, having two teams, when getting missions, is the wait one week before grabbing a new mission for each team or for each person? When both teams participate in a Chapter does each team get a copy of the awards or do I have split it between them?
A: The wait one week rule is for each person, not the teams. If both teams take part in a chapter, split the rewards.

Q: Is it okay to create a new team completely unrelated to an already existing one belonging to the user?
A: Yes, you may create a second team completely unrelated to your original.

Q: Are the "Move Dojo Coupons" for the Fighting Dojo? Or the Move Tutor?
A: The fighting dojo

Q: how often are new moves added to the Move Tutor...
A: The Move Tutor is a player-run shop (more specifically, by Cysic X and Team Southern Cross). Any characters can sign up as tutors at the Move Tutor and add their moves to the moves available.

Q: If I signed up as a tutor and added a few of my own moves, would I be able to teach pokemon from my team said moves? Paying, of course. Since the tutor gets a cut of the profit, does that mean learning from a teammate mean you pay that cut to yourself so it's cheaper?
A: You name the price of whatever moves you put in to tutor. You get 66% of whatever is paid for the move. So, provided Chaos doesn't want anything altered and allows it, you would only need to pay 1/3 of the asking price. Which is determined by you.

Q: (Still relating to the Move Tutor)What if I wanted to add a move that wasn't already there, and then teach it to one of my own teammates?
A: Well, essentially, the shop serves as a medium. People come in and request a move. The shop pairs them up with the apt tutor and gives them access to facilities.

The 33% is a handling fee for the organization and application of the shop. You don't have to pay yourself (which is often a rather harrowing experience) but you do have to pay the handling fee--and only the handling fee.

If the move is priced at 3000 for example, 1000 of that is mine. That's all you pay to me. Since you'd be tutoring yourself, you wouldn't have to pay anyone the other 2000.

Q: Can you take back a reserve for a mission aand get a different one?
A: As long as it doesn't become something that happens every time you reserve a mission, it's fine. Just edit your post in the location of the old mission, saying that you no longer wish to take it.
A mod will get to removing your name from that mission on the Bulletin Board as soon as they can.

Q: Can your partner (as in the co-leader, vice captain, whatever.) die for a plot thingy? But it will be replaced by a recruit in the team.
A: You can kill off any of your characters if you so wish. Just remember that in order to still have a team, there must be at least two members, because a team involves more than one member at any time. (and yes, a recruit can take place of your dead co-captain)

Q: What if your in a mission and haven't finished it yet and there is a chapter, can you participate in the chapter while your still doing a mission?
A: Your characters can be in a mission and a chapter at the same time, yes.

Q: I have no idea how to get started. What do I do first?
A: From there you're free to make a team and start RPing~. Just look here for examples and guides on how to set up your profile before you go ahead and start RPing. Alright, so you've chosen your partner? Head to the member's profile to create your team profile. The template can be found here. After you post your team, you're ready to start RPing! You can start taking missions, or simply RP with other people around the guild. Every two weeks we usually have a "Chapter" which is an RP session involving the entire guild. If you have any more questions, or want to meet the other RPers better, feel free to pop into this. It's the guild chat, and if there's anyone else on they are likely to be able to answer any questions you have.

Q: am I able to start with a Pikachu, or does it have to be a Pichu?
A: Baby stages are considered the first stage

Q: Where can I find a Minun?
A: We have to go through and add more Pokes to a lot of dungeons.
In the meantime assume that anywhere there is a Plusle there is a Minun.

Q: I've written up a mission, like, a month ago and I want to post it, but one of my characters is somewhere else roleplaying with someone. Is it possible to have him in two places at once?
A: Yes. We’re allowed to do so with chapter as well. Due to the inherent complexity of management within a roleplay such as this, it's perfectly fine to have your characters in "multiple" places at once. If you want to write a mission as having been further back in the timeline as well, that's fine. Do try to be careful, though; dramatic events should have an impact on your character, so try to keep critical development moments free of "time ********".

Q: allowed to form new teams purely of the avaliable recruits/eggs in their already exsisting team? (I think some people formed new teams from their other teams' decendants, but that's different...)
A: Yes.
When you make a new team, you receive one free pokemon of your choice as well as a partner roll. If you wish to supplement the team with eggs, that's fine.

Furthermore, your characters may split off to form new teams if you so wish. Team Azalea is a good example of this, having been made up entirely of Team Polaris members prior to the split.

Q: What's up with the Moon guild? I joined it but the area is unaccesable.
A: The Moon Guild isn't a normal guild. It, along with Rebirth, cannot be joined by regular members. Rebirth acts as a sort of "moderator" guild and thus does no regular guild work. The Moon Guild was taken over and is not officially recognized as a guild, nor does it work as one. It exists largely as an antagonistic body, as the leader has a deep-seated hatred for the Guild of the Sun.

This is mentioned directly in the "Making Your Team!" thread and subtly implied by the "Restricted" on their territory along with their lack of presence on the first page. Whoever accepted your application should have sent you a PM informing you that the Guild of the Moon is not a player-available choice.

Q: Why does everyone delete my posts?
A: Your posts will be deleted if not related to the thread/ if you posted in a chapter that is already ended. Usually, a mod who deletes it will post an explanation of why your post has been deleted.

Q: Where are the boards where Selena and Glacia die?
A: Glacia died in Chapter "A guildmasters rage" near the beginning.
Selena died in Bonus Chapter: Prologue to Ruin, near the end.
http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=19622953 Glacia's death

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?page=8&t=20091105#274377399 Selena's death

Q: Are we allowed to have shiny, or dark Pokemon. Can we even make up our own pokemon types or color?
A: First of all, you could do ANYTHING you want with your Pokemon. Appearances, bio, personality, ect, ect. That means, yes, you could make your Pokemon's appearances the way you want it as long as you could edit a sprite of the Pokemon or ask somebody to do it. Like it could have wings, scars, ect even that isn't like the original Pokemon. It will evolve like a normal Pokemon. But if its already has an edited sprite from the beginning, it would make more sense if the evolution one looks nearly like the previous stage.

For example; My Riolu and Lucario.
User Image and User Image

They're hybrids. Part Riolu/Eevee and then the evolution is part Lucario/Umbreon.
See? You could practically do anything you want with how it looks.
- You may colour your pokemon as you please. Even make your pokemon rainbow coloured if you want. Please don't do that, though, that would be weird. Unless you really want to.

- Off-beat typings aren't... totally unallowed. We have hybrids, for example. That being said though, for a normal pokemon to have an abnormal type... that would need to be discussed with Chaos_Divide. We have a pretty broad "rule of cool" system here, though, so provided you can put forward a fair reason, it should be fine.

Q: Can I get Reshiram as a partner?
- Reshiram isn't an available starter under any circumstances. The only way to get a legendary pokemon is either as an NPC (this is typically restricted to moderators) or by reaching Rank 5 and recruiting one. Additionally, to Reshiram's significant status, the twins may or may not be available as recruits... I don't believe it's been decided yet.

Q: What if he [the Reshiram] started out as level one?
- Also, we don't have a "level" system here. Your pokemon can start out at whatever level you please, just follow the normal roleplaying code of courtesy. No matter how strong you want your characters to be via role, backstory etc., there's going to be pre-existing player characters and NPC's that are stronger by nature of their existence. Due to the current conflict in the story, an extremely large number of those are gathered.

- One more thing! While we do keep the boards public in order to promote questions and the like, please do make sure to send in a proper application (aka join request) before doing anything outside of the OOC subforum.

Q: Would pokemon fought within a mirage or dream count towards a mission's battle total? If so, then could they also become recruits?
A: Yes to the first, no to the second. If it's a mirage/dream then you really can't recruit them.

Q: when we make our profiel pages and invotories do we start with anything at all? like an apple or two?
A: First of all, yes you get to start with something according to here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=17600647

"In your forum it would be nice if you made a post of completed missions/chapters and your inventory as well.

For your starting inventory, you get 500PD and the following items.
x3 Apples
x3 Oran Berries
x1 Big Apple "
Q: when doing a mission we're not aloud to just randomly find an apple and eat it right?
A: no. You are not allowed to find ANYTHING at all in missions. You'll have to fill your belly points with the item you own yourself. But you might get one from the mission's reward.

Q: Do you absolutely have to be on a team, or if you can just be a regular pokemon outside of the guilds?
A: Generally, the rule of thumb is, yes. You do have to have a team. However, that being said, you are not entirely restricted to this team and the "teams" as they were are not entirely restricted to guild work. Once your characters have funds, for example, you are free to open up stores etc. as you please. Chapters aren't mandatory and neither are missions (though they are the method to earn PD) so it's fully possible to have a team that does almost entirely social activities. It's also possible to create NPC's both with and without presence provided you talk to myself or Chaos_Divide (though it would have to be me for the time being).

If you'd like to discuss it more, or if it's a make-or-break for you then I'd be happy to discuss it further either in the thread or in PM's. (contact Cysic X)

Q: I would like to apply as an NPC, but is there a certain job I would have to do?
A: Part of the issue with taking on a non-player role within the guild is the fact that there's simply no minor roles needed. Well there are major roles required, those obviously aren't handed off to regular members (let alone new ones).

So, that being said, I can't really assign a required job or anything. There's just nothing in the roleplay that needs to be npc'd.

What it ultimately comes down to is that if you want a non-team role, your best bet is to drop me a PM and I'll talk to the other mods about it. That being said, though, it really is a touch unlikely since there's no precedent for it. I'd like to encourage you to make a normal team and progress from there, considering how loose things get beyond that.

Q: do people with their own pokemon sprites here make them themselves, or do they get it from somewhere/one?
A: Most of us are actually mildly (or significantly) prolific artists and we tend to do our own sprites. Some of us also rework pre-existing sprites (Chaos does this faily often, actually).

Q: I'm awful at art so is it okay for me to just use a sprite I found on a website?
A: Normal sprites are fine. There's no actual... rules regarding sprites at all. I don't think you're technically required to even have them, though it's highly appreciated if you do.

Q: When rolling the dice for a team, does it determine what type your Pokemon has to be?
A: You start off with a captain! You pick ANY first stage Pokemon [Including baby stage Pokemon] to be the captain of your team!
Use the profile template in the member profile subforum to make your thread.
-Check out the other team threads for an idea on how to make it~
Q: I read somewhere that states before getting a team, you have to find a leader or something, how can you find one?
A: When you randomly generate for your partner it'll land on a number between 1-17. Go to the first page of the Partner thread and match it up to the list of Pokemon types there!
From there you choose ANY first stage [this includes baby stage] Pokemon of that type to be your partner!

Q: I noticed others with 4+ pokemon. Can you be more then one? Also, if this is true, how do you get more?
A: Recruits are members of your team! You may have up to 10 per team, not including your captain and co-captain.
Getting recruits [more Pokemon for your team] is easy! We have a chapter occuring now that grants you a recruit as well as any future chapters will reward you with Pokemon.
You can also take a mission from the Main Bulletin board in the Guild Exchange or from YOUR GUILDS board.
-Don't forget to make sure it's the Guild you signed up for!

Q: When you recruit others, do they all have to start out at a first evolution?
A: -Unless stated otherwise your recruits are considered eggs! They take four days to hatch in real time and are always first stage!

Q: when making a profile, do you have to create a name for it?
A: -Your profile will be the name of your team! If your team is called Team SuperAwesome, the thread should be titled Team SuperAwesome.

Q: Are dratini considered legendary?
A: No they are not; if your roll matches the Dragon-type, you may have one.

Q: Say you generate a number and get a psycic type. You want a Espeon but you don't know if that counts. Can you only get eevee for normal?
A: Sorry, from the Partner Assignment the Pokemon that is your partner has to be first stage, so in order to get an Eevee you would have to roll a Normal Type.

Q: How does the business of creating a new team go?
A: Same as making a new team when you join the guild. Pick a captain, roll a partner. You can also make teams from pre-existing members, just make sure to ask Shawn before making such a team. Or me, Cysic, whatever.

Q: Can a team gift another team with items, or recruits, or eggs, etc? For example, a person who owns two teams wants Team B to have a grass recruit and has one "First Stage" recruit or something similar (an egg) in Team A's inventory. Can the person owning both teams transfer the recruit over? (Did that make sense...?)
A: Yes. We have shared inventories among teams, so feel free. We've set the precedent for it in the past and I doubt that's changed.

And one more question: I think I posted in the newest chapter, uh, I think it was 42 or something. I can't find my post, though, does that mean someone deleted it and I'll soon be thrown from the guild ;w;?
PostPosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 3:07 pm

You were too late to join the chapter (It's already complete!) so your post was deleted.

That being said, if you wish to discuss your inactivity I'd be fine with having a chat with you over PM's.

Thanks, but I'm going to try and be active now :3
Another question, its about the requirement for missions battles. Does it mean that you need to fight so and so many pokemon, or so many battles?
Also, sorry, I didn't know the chapter was over already >-<"

So many Pokemon, Cassady. The number of battles can vary, as long as you fight that many Pokemon.

Okay, lemme explain. I wrote up a mission, but, sadly for me, someone else claimed it after I wrote it. Lame, right? Anyways, I was planning to get a specific character, a recruit for my team that was tied in with the mission... so... yeah. Would you guys mind if I posted my mission at the dungeon and used an egg or recruit thingy to get her? I won't take any MP or rewards, but yeah. It just seems pointless to use up a recruit thing without posting the mission. Or would you guys consider it clutter? Either way, just asking. I don't really mind if you say no.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. D: Go right ahead and post ,dear. Since you just want it for backstory purposes I don't see why not.

Order Allied has a question.
By the way Order Allied likes to talk in third person because Order Allied is awesome. *nodnod*

Questions:
1. I read somewhere that we could make a shop run by our team. Cherry's abandoned Swap Shop is an example. Can we make a shop if we so pleased?
2. If we wanted to make a shop, how much would it cost?
PostPosted: Tue Dec 27, 2011 11:52 am

It's not actually abandoned, but yes you can! As a rule of thumb, though, any thread outside of the west wing is "active" if it's still there. We're very careful to remove any dead threads or useless topics, though we don't keep an eye on the team room subforum. I should really do a clean sweep sometime!

Anyways, I can't recall the specific topic, but you need to contact a moderator and pay out a fee of 10,000 PD for a shop. Once the moderator confirms the basis of your shop, you can create the topic.
