At first Cindy was really confused to, after years of living in the Borderlands her elvish was excellent but her Japanese was rusty.
"Cat? Cat.. cat... oh!" she giggled at that poor Halmir she thought, "I didn't know you knew Japanese Vergil."

Vergil turned to look up at Cindy, and he blinked at her. "You didn't ask," he told her as if it was quite clear why she didn't know. "Isn't that what shewas speaking too?"
It was the same word that he knew after all ...

Cindy giggled, "No, she was speaking a form of elvish, one of it's two dialects, and 'neko' is their word for grandfather, not cat."
She could understand where the confusion was, something she heard happened to poor Triton quite often.
"You also know it's a species name in term of a people race right?" she asked him knowing there were a few among the Seconds rank.

"People cats?" Vergil blinked. "Elvish?"
He tilted his head slightly. "Will I be learning these languages, Mother?"
Halmir chuckled. "Seems a good idea, I think. At any rate, I think he and Jasmine will both be good for each other. Jasmine especially needs to be more comfortable with people she doesn't know. Don't you, sweetheart?" He smiled down at his granddaughter, who just stuck her tongue out at him.

Cindy smiled a bit, it was worth a try. She was also guessing that maybe Vergil didn't know any of the other races.
"Yes, for as long as I'm staying here, it would be good for you to know them."
She giggled at Jasmine though.

Vergil blinked at Cindy. "What do you mean?" he asked her.
Halmir tilted his head slightly at Cindy. "Yes, Cindy," he murmured, "what do you mean? Do you mean to leave us?"
Jasmine's eyes grew wide. As shy as she was, she didn't want Cindy to leave ...

"I haven't decided yet if I would stay here permanently," Cindy admitted, "You see Vergil a long time ago I came here to help a little girl, who is now a young woman learn how to control her magic, but since then I've stayed here to study the plants and see if they could be used for potions as they are different here than back in Gaia. Gaia is where I come from, and when I have exhausted my research here, I have to decide whether to stay or to go back."
It hadn't been something she had thought of over the years because Rhea had needed her for so long, though as far as Cindy could tell Rhea would be just fine with her gift.

Vergil nodded slowly as he listened to Cindy's story. "But ... but you promised you would never leave me," he said quietly, his eyes sad as he looked up at her. "You ... you wouldn't leave me here alone, would you? Lore said that I should live here, but ... but if you leave then I won't have my Mother ..."
Jasmine blinked at Vergil. "She wouldn't leave you, Cindy's not like that!" she exclaimed.

"I'd take you with me of course silly," Cindy smiled.
She supposed he wasn't use to the idea that someone would take him along.
"I think you'd like the clan grounds too, we don't live in the city, but it's like a small village with all the siblings, and nieces and nephews."

Vergil relaxed and hugged Cindy's arm tightly. "Good," he murmured in relief. He looked up at her again, still very much attached to her arm. "Is that the place where all the doors are, that Lore took me through?"
"I've heard about that place!" Jasmine put in excitedly. "Nineko told me about it! He was only there one time, but he said it was very pretty, just like a palace!"
Halmir blinked at Jasmine. "When was Ulrich there?"

"Well one of the places... that is the portal room," Cindy too was surprised at hearing this.
She knew with the time difference that was unheard of.
"Was he just in the room? And does Ulani know about this?"

Jasmine shrugged, silent under everyone's gazes. "He didn't ... say ..." She took a step back and half-hid behind Halmir.
Halmir put one hand on her head. "It's all right, sweetheart. We'll just talk with him when he gets back." Though who knew how long that would be.

Cindy giggled, "I didn't mean anything by it, as nice as the comparance I don't know about a palace though the main house is big. The portal room is stone lined though so that the runes can be carved it, it's less likely to fade over time so if anything were to happen nothing harmful could get in or out."
It was one of the new security measures taken when everyone moved, while they doubted anyone harmful would come out of the portals, and it was very hard to get to the heart of the grounds to have anyone harmful to get through to the portals it was better safe than sorry.

"Most of us here haven't seen a palace, inside or out," Halmir commented, "other than Elrohir and his family, and Ulani and Ulrich."
Jasmine blinked up at her grandfather. "Ninako and Nineko?"
He chuckled down at her and ruffled her hair. "Aye, they used to be part of the royal court, I'll have you know. Long time ago, before most of the people here on this ranch were even born."

Cindy nodded at this, though she did have a rough idea about Ulani and Ulrich's background, she tended to forget about that.
She smiled at that, "Yes, perhaps I should ask Lin her opinion on it when she gets back. She's spent a quarter of her life running around in the palace in the Southland... lessons... of course she spent the other quarter here."
