Hearing this, she inferred a little, to total, atheism from him. Ansley gripped her rosary really hard, to the point that if she had long fingernails, her hand would be bleeding already. Yes, everyone had their own decision and views on religion, but she just couldn't stand how people could see that way. Loosening her grip on the rosary, anger burned in her eyes, but her face was soft, contradicting everything going on in her mind. The one burning question burst through her lips, but it sounded casual. "Are you religious?"

James knew it had been coming, but hadn't expected the anger he saw in her eyes. Oh well. He made his own choices in life, and learned long ago not to please everyone. So what if she didn't like his choice? He wasn't going to become a devout Christian just so he could have good working relations with this agent.
"Not particularly. I ask Odin to help me out sometimes if I get stuck, but my God is..." he sat back in his chair and held out his arms wide, as if to indicate- "Everything."

Ansley could still tell the was some atheism in him, but also saw where he was coming from. Though, it didn't mean she understood, she just...sees the decision. Frankly, she didn't care if she'd be able to co-operate with any of these people, and she also didn't care if people aimed to please her or not. This coming from James wasn't anything different, as if he meant anything special to her. She, most definitely now, was not interested. Although that doesn't mean its beacuse his religion decisions... She put her rosary around her neck, and doubled it, since it was so long. It now looked like two totally different necklaces, although it doesn't take a genious to figure it was one. Pulling her hair out of the necklace and fixing it to where it hung on both sides of her shoulders and rested on her chest, she thought a minute. "So, you're not religious, yet you believe in...everything?" The anger in her eyes dulled down, but it was still there. Her face still stayed ever-so-soft.

"Precisely." James said, leaning forward again so he could rest his arms on the table. "Let's put it this way...now, I'm not insulting your faith-" he held up his hand. "Or yours, or yours, or anyone's. But here's my views on life. I think that, in the hundred or so years we humans have on this Earth, I would rather do something with my life to possibly make this world a better place, instead of constantly putting myself in a submissive position at the food of a deity that may or may not exist. I'm not denying the existence...you could say I'm..." he waved his hand a little, trying to find the right word for it. "Uncaring, either way. Should a god exist, then power to you, and the others that follow him. Should they not, well, doesn't matter to me, because I wasn't denying one." he explained.

Ansley raised an eyebrow. If she wasn't already sitting up straight, she sure as hell would be now. "Just because someone worships a god, that doesn't mean they're not trying to make this world a better place. We are just as much as you, but if someone did believe someone was real, and that they'd help guide them and keep them from the grips of evil's hands, it would make that person feel more..safe, more secure. I believe the world should be a better place just as much as you do." The anger faded, and she smiled. "Though those reasons aren't my reason that I believe in God, for the most part."

"I'm sorry, I should have explained that further." James said, clearing his throat with a sheepish grin. "What I mean is, a hell of a lot of time, for religious people, is dedicated to their deity of choice. I'm not saying that ALL religious folk are bad, but some...do get in the way." he said, referencing the many, many times science and religion have clashed. He always found it funny when a new scientific breakthrough happened, and he and all his co-workers would crowd into the lunch room to see the development on TV, and often, it break into two camps: the religious types with one view, and the others. "You also can't deny that there would be a lot less death without religion." he pointed out. It was undeniable for all but the most deluded fanatics.

Ansley laughed in her head. She couldn't believe he actually thought that, but than again, he was true...again. "Yes, it does, but also the careless and carefree people get in the way. They believe they don't have to please, so they just don't care. It's sad and utterly pathetic." She had a feeling it'd be interpretted the wrong way, but she was trying not to blow her top off. Not literally, of course.

"Zack," he said before waving back to James. He listened to the dialogue between James and Ansley briefly, then turned to Liliana. "Is everyone always talking about serious things? Religion just wouldn't be my personal subject of choice. Music though, you get me to talk about preferences for hours. What about you? What are your thoughts?" he asked Liliana.

...The Thief... "I don't believe in any of that crap." Lora chuckled and looked at Ansley, than to James then back at the woman. "No one is watching you all the time, and no one judges you but yourself. All of the religious spiritual s**t is a scam to make you conform." The young woman sat next to James again and looked at him, right in the eye. Her face then turned to Anny. "God never did anything for anybody because he's just a fairy tale,"

James nodded. "Aye. But the carefree people are the best." he said, smiling. He considered himself carefree, as not much really got to him, except a very small list of things. Most times, he was calm and agreeable.
He looked over at Lori, then shrugged. "I wouldn't be so quick to deny it, but as I said, to each his or her own. If that's your beliefs, fine by me. If Ansley believes there's a God, fine by me as well. I don't deny it so I can stay rather neutral, and not get disemboweled by religious fanatics, and my head ripped off by diehard atheists." he said with a laugh, having exaggerated that grossly for both sides.

Ansley's mouth twitched to the side in thought. They both had their points...but Ansley had her own view, and she didn't let anybody influence her decisions. She looked between the two, and sighed. "Where in the world is Chris?..." She looked at her hands, which were folded in her lap.

James chuckled slightly when Ansley didn't reply. He was almost thankful, because he knew how heated debates like this could get. He shrugged, grinning mischievously. "Probably sitting outside there, laughing his a** off at us in here." he suggested. "He's probably wondering how long it'll be before we all go insane and end up killing each other." he joked.

LillianaRose Akari Lily grinned. "It seems like the room has gotten rather serious. Well if I must state my opinion..." She stood up and walked to the head of the table where Chris had been standing earlier. "I would have to say that I'm here to have fun! Wheither it be solving mysteries to getting away with something, as long as its fun! That is why I do what I do! And that is why I am here...I don't know or even really care about the rest of you. I just know that fun awaits!" She smiled at her own statements. Only certain people would get some of what she said. Some of the people in the room had no idea what she had done so they wouldn't really get her whole speach. "Chris? Well, he is right outside the door waiting for the perfect opprotunity to break up our conversation..." As she spoke Chris walked in. "Go sit down..." Chris told her. "Like I said..." She said with a frown as she walked back to her seat.

Angela was curious and wondering what made Chris decide to have cops and criminals work together. She hated the idea, especially since her father and mother were killed by the likes of criminals. She had no comment and just waited until he left the room for a bit. As he did others started to talk about their faith and whatnot. Angela didn't like talking about herself so she just stayed silent and waited for Chris to return. She didn't like being in this room and the idea Chris had, she didn't want any part of it. She just wanted to leave and just go on with normal cases, not all of this crap.
