The war, the Sentinel and her army verses the Overseer and his own. And the thought of Gambino's son being possessed by a clam was farfetched, if not plain disturbing. It was perhaps no where as confusing as the concept of Jack ending it and the worm that had started it all. It was a huge undertaking to comprehend all at once, and they were all supposed to have been him?
The man did not know what to make of the story, nor the personal tale Kyo shared, his expression stunned. From the short time he had spent with the boy, the small slip of the tongue was not lost on him. "What had I ever done to earn such devotion and love ...?"
A wave of vertigo slammed into him and his stomach lurched as his face paled, hands clammy. (-shoots self-) His thoughts reeled, the world spun, his chest pounded and with Kyo's story concluded, the familiar and frantic confusion was firmly entrenching itself in his mind, tearing and fraying at the edges. It was finally too much.
"Why not?" He questioned with a brimming anger, and he slammed his fists into the ground, "Why would that not be me? I am not worthless. I'm not. Yes, that has to be it, ... I have to be the Overseer."
The world, now, finally made sense. The Overseer climbed up to stand barefoot in the sand, and he looked out over the horizon, taking a deep breath. Filled with new purpose, he no longer was lost and afraid. "We have to find everyone we can who are still loyal. There is no doubt that our enemies of S.I.N. are amassing against us. Kyo, they are everywhere and no one is to be trusted."

Kyo beamed at his dear master with adoration and admiration. The Overseer had returned to him and now he was about to embark on a great journey with him once more. "Oh Overseer! I'll follow you anywhere! "((rolls for another hug)) Kyo lept up and gave the Overseer another tight hug. ((poor overseer. I'm just really lucky ^-^;;; wink )

"Erk ..." Heroic moment over and done with, the Overseer found himself squeezed tightly by Kyo around the middle. Never quite prepared for the sudden outbursts of affection, he nearly stumbled and fell, easy to bowl over, and he would have fell if not for Kyo's grip on him.
First he worked on getting one arm free, and then grabbed the top of Kyo's head to push him off and help get his second arm out of the hug, "That means we need to get moving! Do you know anything about the island, Kyo?"

Kyo looked down ashamed and began to press his fingers together nervously. I..I don't know... like I said. I was ditched here by SIN members...I sorta just stayed in one place until you arrived. I just put my faith in you Overseerness and you came." Kyo stood up and brushed off the sand. "Please for give me...I don't really have any specila skills and my trident is just for self defense.., I can barely use it...." He picked up his bag and then thought of something. PUlling his robe over his head he ran out to the sea and dived in. Swimming out out he scanned the sea floor until he found a small clam. Grabbing it he hurriedly returned back to the Overseer wet, robe-less and out of breath. "Talk,..to...it. It...may...know...,"

Without getting an explanation for Kyo running off, the Overseer scratched the back of his neck while he watched the boy run off naked towards the water. That wasn't exactly what he meant by their need for action, by losing the clothes and taking a swim ...
While Kyo searched for the clam, the Overseer sat back down in the sand to pull his boots back on and make sure his robe was in order. He was waiting patiently with his arms resting on his knees when Kyo came back running up. He stood when he saw what Kyo was carrying with him. "A clam? Of course I can do that."
He hesitated for a moment and then picked up the clam. He ran his thumb over the clam's shell, thinking, and stopped again. His jaw clenched, frustration overcoming him, and he finally admitted with a sigh, "I do not know how to converse with it."

Kyo tied his sash tightly around his robe and came back to the Overseer. He sat down next to him and stared at the clam. "I don't know how you did it either..." He sighed and leaned his head against the Overseer's shoulder.

Self-conscience of his personal space being violated, he awkwardly side-stepped away from Kyo, and hopefully covered that up with his own revelation. "Ah hah!" Pointing with use of the clam towards the center of the island, he said, "I've got it! We must spy! Err ... to scope out what kind of adversary we are up against. Already our location may be compromised!"
Already losing some of his inspiration, the Overseer paused, then said, "Okay, you go left and I will go right. Then we meet back here in an hour by this rock and palm tree."

Kyo looked horrified. "No! No! No! I lost you once I'm not going to loose you again! And you never ever split apart on a deserted island! What if one of us gets killed!. I refuse!" Kyo puffed p his chest a bit trying to look like he had authority and then collapsed to his knees in tears. "I don't want to be alone anymore.."

He sighed, deflating when Kyo started to cry. Scratching the nape of his neck again and he studied the clam so he didn't have to look at anything else. Perhaps his new shelled friend would give him another silent revelation by osmosis, because it worked so well the first time. Right?
"It is not a deserted island, first off." He started, "If you walk away from the ocean there are many buildings in the center. Kyo! I'm ashamed of you. How do you expect to accomplish victory, if we do not use all of our resources available to us?"
He held up one finger, and said very clearly in a commanding voice, "One hour, and we meet back here. Do as your Overseer says."

Angelique smiled a bit as she came out of the Temple after the Overservice. She loved being there, listening to those words as it always brought her peace of mind. Today she decided not to train for the next few hours; she felt horribly lazy today.
"Maybe I'll head over to the beach... there's nothing better than laying on the sand, listening to the waves and glancing at the clouds after a nice Overservice," she said to no one in particular. She hummed as she made her way to the beach. Perhaps she could find some clams; adorable creatures those are.

Kyo got up and wiped his tears. He turned away ashamed," Okay..."Kyo walked off in the direction of the buildings. "You better be here or I'll cry again," he shouted. He began to hum as he slowly got farther and farther away.

"Whooooo! Finally here!" Bapp stretched, happy that he finished his journey to Barton.
He stepped through the gates, looking at buildings for the first time in a few weeks.
"Never thought I'd miss being in a town. But it's too expensive to stay around these places. I'll just stay a night here or something then go back." Bapp walked over to the inn and booked a room, dropping his luggage on the bed before leaving again to shop for necessities he needed for his return to the outdoors.

Be good... Lorika sighed, tapping her pen against the paper. She'd had inspiration, yes... translating inspiration to prose was another matter. The Overservice was easier than the morning prayers, for she needed only one copy of the sermon - her own - and the prayers were repeats from the week before. Though as time went on, prayers were becoming recycled more and more. In the beginning she'd tried to create fresh ones each day, but - she thought, with a mental tone of deprecation - there's only so much praise you can offer a clam before you begin to repeat yourself, and the mammoth task of administrating the Temple was left to her.
After a while, she got up and stretched her legs. In a way, she was living her dream. She'd always wanted to be a writer before... before, and now she had the chance to write and have her work heard and read and appreciated. To a very limited audience, of course, but an audience.
She stopped pacing around, frowning. Why'd she have to go and think about the time before... before? Now she'd have to find something more demanding to distract herself. Blast.
She headed out of her room, picking up her cloak for good measure, and tapped her way slowly to the ground level of the Temple. Talking with the acolytes would be a good way of relieving her worries for now, even if she was the one listening to the worries of others. ...and you will be lonesome.

Coline trekked on through the lavish vegetation. She didn't want to be discovered as much as possible so she figured she would take a rarely-used route towards her destination. It was tedious, yes, but this setting would also make it easier for her to tell if anyone was following her.
Soon enough she found herself standing in front of an awe-inspiring structure, possibly too beautifully-crafted for the purpose it served. In front of the main door stood two men both garbed in light armor and the Order's signature colors, engaged in a lively conversation. She had only overheard other recruits talking about it so she wasn't entirely sure if she had arrived at the right place.
Approaching the two men, Coline assumed a firm stance. "Excuse me," she began, "Would this be the Armory?" But alas, that didn't yield as much as a glance. In an attempt to catch their attention she added more gravity to her tone. "Excuse me."
The men finally ceased to talk and turned to the young recruit slowly. After giving her a quick once-over, one of them spoke. "Yeah sure, this is the place." he said. "Now beat it. This is no place for kids."
"I happen to be member of the Order's combat unit."
There was a brief pause. The men stared at each other, a twisted look of amusement apparent in their faces, before they burst into hysterics. "A twiggy little girl like you? In the combat unit? No wonder we lost the war!" the other man remarked, laughing all the while.
This struck a nerve, of course, but Coline did her best to remain composed. As tempted as she was to shove those words back into their throats, this was not the time to lose her temper. "May I enter?" she asked simply.
"Tough luck, kid." the man answered dismissively. "Even if you were part of the combat unit, only those of high authority are allowed to come and go as they please. Unless of course the higher-ups sent you, then that's a whole different story."
Coline paused for a moment in thought. Now there's an idea. "Thank you," she said, giving the men a curt bow. "Then I shall be heading inside. If you'll excuse me..."
"Woah hooo, not so fast." A firm grip soon made its way to her shoulder guard, and an expecting hand within inches away from her face. "Your permit, if you please?" the man asked, a conceited look on his face.
"...I left it."
"Then get lost." With a forceful shove the young recruit staggered a few steps back. She had to deal with their laughter and distasteful mockery as she walked back whence she came, not amused at the slightest.
So even the Benevolent Order had its share of bastards? Learn something new everyday.

Evelyn
Evelyn yawned, stretching out. She glanced around her, taking an inventory of the surrounding area. On one side, she saw two people, and one seemed to be attacking the other with a somewhat sexual looking hug. On the other she saw Kaos. Immediately, she shot up and shouted at the girl. "KAOS! KAOS! ANGELIQUE!!!" Evelyn's smile was wide as she waved down her friend.
