sikh-91 Gabrielle Ghost sikh-91 Gabrielle Ghost sikh-91 Gabrielle Ghost Sounds like my sis's old school. She went to Devry, which gets you out in 3 yrs. Ur going for psych? Sounds cool. 3nodding I was going to do a joint honors with Criminology or Forensics, but I'm more interested in the Psychology stuff, and what interests me more is Neuropsychology XD But I'll wait it out and see what happens in Uni and see which tickles my fancy ^^, Lol. I started as business, but fell in love with theatre. That tends to happen, you go into something you think will benefit you or you think you like, then you find something else that you want to do instead xD So you doing theatre now then? Yeah. I'm a technical theatre and business management major. Business to keep my units happy (like I said earlier in this thread). I love the theatre though. It gives me something to do, and the people are amazing. eek heart Yeah. a double majors hard, though, and balancing h/w, plays, projects, shop work, and actual paying work, i have basically no life.... T__T

Gabrielle Ghost well, if you overachieve, you can get a degree in 3 yrs. or if you slack, you can get it in 5 yrs. but the average/ normal amount is 4 yrs. Actually at my college/university/institute/whaterever you want to call it (it's technically called an institute because it consists on multiple colleges), 5 years is the normal time it takes to get a bachelor's degree because the most majors REQUIRE about a year's worth of Co-op work or internships. My major doesn't require any but I would like to try an get one for at least a quarter since all my AP, IB, and transfer credits (the transfer credits came from taking a class in high school where if you passed the class the local community college would give you credits) have put me almost two quarters ahead of schedule. If I take a full load of 18 credits every quarter I could possible graduate a quarter early (which would be good since my education is costing an arm and a leg). Either way I'll be 22 when I get out.

I tend to wonder my way to danger or waddle my way to be sick.
@ the whole topic about school systems...
K-6 ( 4-12 Years ) You stay in the same classroom, but with different levels of people. Some may be dumb or smart. Time slots vary from 8 AM to 4PM or 8AM-3PM.
Year 7-10 ( 12 - 16 Years ) You transfer to different classrooms. Have a cycle of two weeks, but may be separated into days or for instance; WEEK A WEEK B. Similar time slots to K-6 years but shorter. My school goes from 8:15 AM to 2:30 PM
Year 11-12 ( 16 - 18 years ) Final years where it is compulsory to attend now. May be an attachment to your High school years. I don't know the time yet.
College/University ( 18+ ) I'm not in these years, but I know you'll have to attend a course D:

I have yet to decide whether I'm going to get a Ph.D in neuroscience or a M.D in neurology or neurosurgery, though - you can't really do much in neuro without one of those. ^.^ You know what? The weirdest thing JUST happened. I got emailed by the University, and they've offered me a HND in social studies instead. It's a combination of law, sociology, criminology and some others. It's for 2 years. And they've given me a place. HEREApparently in the second year it's research studies using internet forums, and other stuff O_o... internet forums? xP Well, I'm going to the opening evening to find out more from that Uni with my sister. That sounds really awesome. I wonder what kind of forums you'd be using in your research... rofl

High school, usually starts around 8:45 and goes until 3:15. At the End of the 12 years of school you are issued a rank based on tests and your school results. This rank is what gets you through the door into a university/college.
University/College, depending on the degree you do as to how long your there and what you do (just like any where else around the world). Normally 3-4 years per course (unless you do medicine then it's about 6) and then an extra year for honours with Doctorates and Masters taking forever and a day.
There is also an alternative once you leave school called TAFE where you can go and spend 1-4 years learning how to become a vet nurse, chef, electrician, hairdresser... basically a trade. Once you are qualified you can use this qualification to sneak in the 'back door' to university/college if you so wish.

I walk around and pick up rubbish... I can't help it!
