JuokasKurvas @Kits - ooooooh, yea college life kinda got me used to constant construction too...however 4 years in Davis wasn't enough to get me to make my peace with the heat, for 18 years I despised the 90 - 98 degree weather plaguing the bay in the summer, no way was I ever going to be happy with 100-112 degree heat in Davis. Although, I now handle bay area summers just a tad bit better than I used to ^_~. @Karma - Shutterfly is like Photobucket. I don't use it, but I have friends who like it better? And stripgenerator is nifty. It's so limited, but as I can't draw at all, it gives me a few more options than what I originally held in my arsenal. All my random comics on DA were done on stripgenerator. I do have about 50 hand drawn stick figure ones that I started doing senior year of HS - finally consenting to the fact that though I have the artistic capabilities of a lame chimp, I just really want to make comics - however I never bothered scanning those (except for one which I'm pretty sure I never uploaded onto DA). I might remake them (possibly with stripgenerator, but idk, it would look better but would limit some of the stuff I could do nonexistent artistic prowess aside) one day, we'll see. I mean my comics are mostly based on stuff my friends do (with a few original plots, usually still starring me and/or my friends) so most aren't that interesting to the outside world. And I have gone on a long a** tangent here, what was I on about? Oh right, stripgenerator, tis fun! OH! And THAT account is not under this name either...muwhahaha!!

@Karma: Well, you can favorite and search, right? Isn't that all you need? ^^
@JK: Ah, so that's where all those comics of yours came from. XD

@JK: What do you like about the idea of making a comic? Drawing it or writing it? I'm sure you could pull off both though lol lol well you probably said something about your account on da or something...I wont go searching for this one!!
@Ketz:LOL yea I guess I can...Only the names you gave me though XD

@Kits - that indeed is where they came from
@Karma - Mainly creating it, but I like the mixture of visual and lingual that a comic allows. However my drawing is AWFUL, and I don't do sharing well, I don't want a joint project, I want MY project. So I'll probably end up just sticking with random doodles rather than ever pursuing it as a media. I'll stick with just writing for now I guess.

They are, but I really envy those with even so-so artistic ability sometimes.

@JK: Yea and even if it's just for fun I think you can keep improving with time. I know that's what happens to me when I draw a lot. And then when I stop for a long time it goes back to crap.
I have a feeling we will always envy someone XD I know there are those artists I envy. *Wavesfistinair*

Yeah, there are those lucky artists who just seem to have natural ability that they barely need to hone... but most artists aren't that way, and it really takes *a lot* of hard work and practice to even become halfway decent.

Yea, I'm also not very patient...makes cultivating something like artistic ability difficult, stressed . I will eventually try again though, I also don't have a visual imagination so it kind of makes things twice as hard. I like the way my mind works, but it's not very conducive to learning to draw - at least, via traditional methods. Most of my artistic friends have very visual imaginations, so it's hard for them to provide tips to help me out. My brother was AWFUL but he has patiently been working on it and he's actually gotten a lot better recently - but then he also has a visual imagination so he's no help to me either ~_~.

Mmm, well maybe you should stick with rendering instead? Like just copying what you see, instead of visualizing things? I've found that was the best way for me to learn at least...

When I do work on it that's what I do, and I have some not bad sketches of pictures. Yea, btw, I also have issues with depth perception - I needed TWO barriers ya know? stressed - so even rendering actual three dimensional things I'm looking at is hard, but working on it - or will work on it more eventually. It's just it's all self-motivation, because that is not the techniques most art classes use, so I've given up on those. Getting Cs and such there kind of gave me a complex ~_~...hehe.
I love how this thread is still going more than a month after Halloween, COMPLETELY on every other topic in the universe. Goal: Still going by next Halloween? Hahahaha... razz

Art classes aren't for everybody. I didn't find myself really benefiting from them until college; that was around the time I had gotten used to doing art by my own means enough that I could experiment with the techniques they taught us, and use them to improve. Yeah, who knows? Maybe we can pull it off. XD
