The man looked at her, bleary-eyed and possibly drugged or drunk. It took a moment to register her words.
"Prest," he finally replied, "An' I swear I dun nothing wrong. I pay my debts miss, work hard. You one of Lahmear's servants maybe? Come to set me free? I pray, I swear I do..."

There was one of the younglings in the hall. She gasped at the sight of Raymon and made to leap the banister, aiming to get to the first floor before him.
"HANUVH!" she screamed.

-he grumbled as he caught the child and covered her mouth and held her up looking over her like a toy and trying to turn it off.-
"now what was that point Micheal said"
-and started poking her in random spots while continuing down the hall towards the basement.-
"I really don't want to break you, why me, just not lucky at all"

The girl squirmed and kicked like her life depended on it. There was a desperate kind of fear about her and she was harnessing it to try and escape the vampire's grip. And she was good. She'd obviously been coached in how to break a hold.
Which included things like biting.

Was he actually saying his name or was he trying to say 'priest'? Jay couldn't be sure as she tried to make out his words, while tipping his head toward the firelight to catch the look of his dilated pupils and a whiff of his breath. He certainly didn't look like any of the priests she knew off and certainly was not fed like one from his health.
"I cannot spare the time to-" And then there was a child's scream from up the stairs. She turned, distracted, looking at the rest of the group behind her. "I thought all the children were in their rooms?" Jay near-growled at the interruption.

-He continued to casually poke her until he turn and force her too look at him his temper rising so was the temperature of his touch against any bare skin. and his eyes still held their glow-
"Listen you little brat, I am what goes bump in the night and the wolf that will eat you if you don't obey my wishes."
-He curled his lips up and bared his fangs-
"technically your suppose to be dead already by the rules of my kin but your in luck cause I love breaking the rules." "SO SHUT UP AND GO BACK TO BED"
-he snarled like a wild dog when he told her to shut up as the heat rose in against where he held her.-

Lord Hanuvh turned pale. He swore and drew a swordcane, a light blade fit for his station.
"No," he said, "Not again. Not one of mine. I swore it!"
And he ran for the basement stairs. His followers also produced weapons and went after him, the last pausing at the bottom step and looked back at Jay. He said nothing, but the expression on his face was the same as the one on the captive.
Help us.

Jay was off-put by Hanuvh's words, confused by their unrevealed meaning as she watched the rest of them follow suit up the stairs, the last leaving only with his haunted look.
She turned back to the fellow on the floor, a tingling feeling settling into her legs as they complained about where they were, followed by a sinking feeling.
One more. Always one more thing...
Quickly she jumped from her boots and hurried up to the main floor to where the others were, sliding past a few of them before she spotted someone holding the child from earlier.
Roman.

"Put her down," she tried to raise her voice to tell the red head, obviously not pleased.

-Roman tilted his head to the side and caught the glances of others barely hearing the ranger he slowly put the girl down and stepped back staying very still as he was now trying to control himself, waiting on guard to counter an attack.-

"Hide," Hanuvh said to the girl, "Get all of them and hide."
She nodded quickly and ran, back up the stairs, banging on doors as she went. Hanuvh kept his attention on Roman.
"Talk fast, both of you. I may be a lot of despicable things but I take care of my own. And I'll not have any of those under my protection treated in such a manner. So talk - and it had better be damn good or else the Swan will have plenty of blood for tonight. Cause even if it's my own, I'll still try and take either of you with me for this."

-Roman tilted his head back to get a better look-
"I don't speak for myself, but if you take a step near me I will burn everything in seconds including all that hides with in it."
-his voice was low trying to hold back his bite he had, it wasn't like he harmed the girl-

"You will harm none," the ranger growled as she stepped forward, not specifying who it was directed at with her sword still in hand but pointed downward.
She then turned toward Roman. "You are endangering more than you know the longer you are inside these walls. You need to go." She stepped forward past the others as they stepped to the side, giving Hanuvh a fair berth of room.
"Go back outside or you will get me killed," she whispered under her breath to the vampire's sensitive ears.

Hanuvh watched carefully but did not make a move to stop the ranger.
"The officer," he finally said, "One of his men caught one of our girls stealing. Brought her in with a bit of a tussle so the guards got what they wanted before we got her back. Their captain doesn't know - or if he does he's ignoring it. I think you know how we deal with such things here. If he-" and he gestured at Roman, "is one of your friends than I might suggest either teaching him some manners or getting rid of him."
His eyes narrowed.
"As is, you try my patience. Both of you."

-He bowed a gentleman's bow- "Then forgive me Hanuvh, and I'll show myself out and that will be the end of that."
-Roman waited still till something was said or at least shown the way out... then there is always the option of going out the way he came, then how much further did he dug the grave for his friend considering she was seemingly upset like he is usually.-

The ranger tipped her head in the direction toward where she knew the door was and explained the way out as she remembered it.
"I promise there will be no more surprises of that nature, at least ones that I can prevent, Hanuvh," she said after hearing the door click shut, explaining nothing more of the intruder's appearance. "And yours be not the only patience tested tonight. There is unfinished business to attend to."
Jay turned without a look or motion toward the rest, knowing they would follow on their own if they chose, and headed back down the stairs to where she had left the other man. Weary, she sheathed her sword and knelt again.
"Release I can give you now. You will not have to wait any longer," she said with a sad smile while the tips of her fingers reached into her boot.
