Take my hand Reachin' to my soul. Have you ever found Anything so pure before? I touched your hand You lost control. Do you really want me to Break down and cry? Mira felt herself getting ruffly shaken and grasped around the shoulders. She steeled her body in preparation for an violence. Instead of the beating she imagined there was only a gentle slap on her face. She opened her teary eyes to stare at Charlotte. They were not going to sell her? Then who was the strange woman they met in the woods? Ignoring the question in her own mind, Mira decided to follow Charlotte's suggestion. Sure enough, Annick herself helped open the opportunity. "Mira, please, can you help me prepare the rabbits? We need something warm to eat. Come, don't be shy." She moved her gaze to Annick. She stared at the open hand to her. Nodding, she pulled herself away from Charlotte, wiped her eyes with the back of her hands and gripped the hand held out to her. Take your time Look into my eyes Have you ever seen Anything so pure before?

Pomme felt her heart tightening for the young child. She gave her a gentle smile and squeezed her hand as if she was never going to let her go.
She sat Mira right next to her by the fire and showed her with patience how to prepare the rabbit. Pomme did the first one and presented the young girl with the second one. She was encouraging, giving small advise, passing her hand in the child's hair, always smiling.
She was acting like the older sister she had never been, forgetting for some minutes that they were on the run, that her mission was to protect the Princess, that she would give her life for her, that the troops of the enemies were after them. She was just Annick, a poor woman, traveling with her younger sister Charlotte.

Samhailien opened her mouth to answer when the girl, Mira, jumped over the fire and into Lilith's arms. She watched with a slightly bemused expression as the Princess completely failed at calming the girl down sufficiently and as Pomme returned and saved Lilith from herself. Moving now to the mouth of the cave, Sam observed the night, peering through the sheets of rain with magic-enhanced eyes. She watched from afar the lights of torches sputter and go out as the rain drenched the men searching. As she watched though, a steady light came up from the group and Sam mentally cursed as she muttered a quick phrase to end most of her spells.
Her vision worsened but her elven eyes were more then enough for her to track the movements of the light. It was obvious they did not know they way they had gone, but they were no longer looking for the horses either. She turned to Lilith, her eyes wordlessly shouting warning, but she could say nothing in front of Mira.

Lilith Ishtar Daciana Valdis Gwenevere Ovet First it comes on quiet creeping slow Clever words and phrases only stain I remain so Lost and buried under Everything that I need When all I want is youLilith let go of Mira's slender shoulders, taking note of how frail and bony the younger's girl body was after wandering so long while infection ran rampant throughout her blood. She'd seen many of her people in the same condition; her soldiers who valiantly fought on the battlefield and the peasants that lent their calloused hands to raise up arms or who happened to get caught up in the wrong type of dispute.
With a sigh Lilith rose up from her seat, dusting off the back of her dress before picking up the blanket Mira had cast off of herself before the flames it was neighboring began licking at it. She wrapped it rather than folding it and then set it down on the ground, glancing over towards Pomme and Mira as the elder of the red heads began instructing the younger how to skin a rabbit. Thank the heaven's she had someone who knew how to be motherly or else Mira certainly would've been worse off.
Lilith stood close to the fire, trying to warm and dry herself off. As she was standing there she noticed her advisor looking out into the woods that covered them. Her gaze remained steadfast on the elf, waiting to see if the other would pick up on anything that might cause alert. When Samhailien's eyes turned to Lilith with a clear, silent meaning the princess stepped away from the fire and slowly sauntered over to her.
"We're lucky to have someone such as yourself in our company," Lilith remarked in a low tone, testing to see how well her voice would carry to the other's ears. The sound died rather quickly, however, rather than being carried off by the natural acoustics of the cave. This combined with her military experience told her that if she spoke a little softer the others wouldn't be able to hear anything she was saying or even notice that she was speaking. "What is the cause for alarm in your eyes?" Lilith questioned, voice hushed to the appropriate volume but her words still clear. ...I've been here so very long and Every word is calculated Never questioned or debated All these practiced poses I could wreck it if I had to But I'm the wreck so what would that do?

Take my hand Reachin' to my soul. Have you ever found Anything so pure before? I touched your hand You lost control. Do you really want me to Break down and cry? The young girl watched Annick prepare one of the rabbits. Listened hard whenever she spoke. Truthfully trying to learn something for the first time in her life. Everything her older sisters, brothers and even parents tried teaching her never interested her. And they could never make her try or feel the need to. If you're really worried about not being able to do something then learn. It was a statement. Mira understood that. What she did not understand was why she felt it was an order that she had to complete.
Annick placed the second rabbit in front of her. Mira stared wide eyed at the woman but nodded anyways. Slowly, she took a breath and began her task. Though she was at first nervous as she began gutting the rabbit, Annick had a way of calming her down that she did not feel like wondering at. An older sister. Soon she found herself smiling. After she finished gutting and skinning the rabbit she held it up almost as a trophy. "How do we cook it now? Mira asked. Take your time Look into my eyes Have you ever seen Anything so pure before?

Pomme was smiling kindly at the young girl who was trying her best. "You are doing great..." she encouraged her. When Mira was done, she nodded. "God job." she said softly.
"Well if we had a pot, we could make a stew which is delicious. However we are low on supply, so we will just roast them." She took two sticks and put them through the rabbits, then she laid the rabbits above the fire.
She cast a quick look at Lilith who was speaking with the elf. She could not hear what they were speaking about and strangely she did not want to.
"Now we have to wait." she explained Mira with a shrug and a smile. Silence came between them and she did not know what to say. "Oh I forgot...we need to wash our hands." because the Princess was speaking with the advisor at the entrance of the cave, she led Mira to the depth.
"So you see...because it is raining, the water often finds its way between the stone." she found what she was looking for: water running along the rocks. "Here you see...we can use that to wash our hands." She put her palm against the rock and the water ran over her skin. It was cold but she did not mind. "Your turn..." she said lightly while pressing her hands together to remove the goo from the rabbits.

"This. This is going to be awkward. Randomly jumping back into this, with no appropriate build up or whatever. I mean, its been like a month. A good, solid month. I haven't really practised this, and I'm afraid my skills are just going to be plain rusty and end up pissing everyone off. And by everyone I mean you. So by all means, I'm hope your ready for this, cause I certainly am not."
A beat, before Nicholas cautiously moved from his higher position to the dirt below, stepping towards to horse, hand outstretched before he grasped onto the saddle and hefted himself up.
"Horse riding. How I loathe thee."
Nicholas raised an eyebrow as he got an eyeful of womanly back. He proceeded to then look down at his hands, before back at the womanly back, before turning ever so slightly to his right.
"Where am I suppose to grab onto? Better question, where the hell are we going? Even better question, why did God create the platypus? Why isn't eleven pronounced onety-one? These are the thoughts that have kept me awake for this past month"
Serious nod.
"I think we got everything we need...although I seem to be in need of a weapon. If we get attacked on this mad chase, how do you suppose I defend myself? I mean sure your all powerful, modern day woman go you, miss independent that's why I love her and all that, but even you can't hold off the entire gorram Valuk army, especially if your covering my a** as well."
--
The air crackled and the heavy scent of ozone filled the hallway as the two brothers faced off. Despite his brother's inability to use magic, Prince Gidel stared his brother down fearlessly, admonishing him for his foolishness before marching off, barking orders as he did so.
Hidoi spat angrily, the lightning fading away before he turned and walked off.
"You heard the prince. Get the dogs out. I want Falconer before my feet by sunrise. Cancel the lockdown, we cannot let the fact that the prisoner has escaped spread. We need to keep the populace under control."
--
"Hey hey! Crazy monster girl! We should totally hang banners across the entire town showing that I have escaped. It'll cause a ruckus of epic proportions! The royalty in charge will be fuuuuucked"
Falconer finished his cry in a sing song voice as the horse started its gallop towards the mountains. It would be a long journey, and Falconer prayed to whatever deity looked over them that he would not drive his companion to murder him out of sheer irritation.

Serenice had not thought how uncomfortable it would be to travel with the man behind her. But one horse was all she could have afforded. She would probably run once they put enough distance between them and the capital but for the moment she would bear his proximity and his awful smell. At the first stop she need to throw him in a pond or something.
The man was once again going on and on about random stuff.
"Hold onto me." she barked more than she answered as she was painfully acknowledging that there was no other way for him not to fall from the horse.
To his second question she hissed. "North."
To the others she raised her eyes and sighed, sending the horse into a gallop.
She would not admit in front of the soldier that she literally hated horses...and horses most of the time, hated her back. They smelled her as a predator, not as a rider. However the mare they were riding was stupid enough not to mind.
His question about a weapon was legitimate and as they started fleeing, she spoke again. She was not sure that she had understood his full tirade about modern day and independent woman, but she knew that if they were to fight, he could pull himself off with a weapon. "At your right, hanging from the saddle is a sword. I hope it will do because this is all I have for you." She did not have a weapon for herself, which she did not like, but between arming him or herself, she had quickly made her choice.
The journey started and she hoped for peace and calm, sadly the gods did not seem to have heard her for the man prattled again like an old woman calling her crazy monster girl. He had a way with women!
Yet for the first time since they left she smirked, a wide smirk, although Falconer in her back could not see it. "The first sensible thing you have said since we left Falconer!" Yet she did not expend on the subject. Instead she laughed, a lugubrious, sarcastic laugh with held no happiness nor joy.
With only the moonlight to light their steps, the horse led them far from the capital and its jail.
Mark was frustrated. "That damned woman..." he was still pissed at the vampire who had not played along with him. He was not drunk the least and he would hold his part of the deal, even if he was sure that the dark woman believed him inadequate.
"Bert? Come here!" he called.
The innkeeper was a little puzzled by Mark's tone and she was curious by nature, so she trotted to him.
"Falconer is free." said triumphantly the man.
Bert's mouth opened and closed without a sound. Her eyes were wide opened. "You are drunk!" she concluded, yet something in the man's attitude, his smile and confidence.
"Your Lizzie will be avenged!" Mark stood up and raised his beer mug. "To Falconer!"
Despite the fear in all the ones present in the Inn, they all raised their mug and shouted back. "To Falconer." Within minutes, the news was traveling from the Inn to the brothel, to the church, to the healing house...the few opened places despite the lockdown were soon swarming with villagers getting braver and braver by the minute.
"We need to help." shouted one. "We have to stop them." answered another.
The City had never been so alert at night and soon pitchforks, torches and any tools became weapons that would await the Valuk soldiers...

As the orders were barked from Prince Hidoi they spread throughout the castle like a roaring tsunami. Soldiers and servants alike were set off into a panic that quickly soothed itself into a halcyon. They realigned themselves and set off to complete the work that one of their commander's had ordered, displaying an impressively cohesive work unit that could have only come from the Mei'q Valuk army. As the servants moved to ensure that everything was in order internally and that their superiors' were taken care of, the soldiers ventured externally to feed the reports to the men outside and send the word out. The two worked together like a breathtaking patchwork sewed together by needles, always crossing yet never colliding.
As the teams worked together a second order was soon released: Do not shut down the city or let the Erion citizens realize that the prisoner Falconer has escaped. With the same speed and efficiency as before the words passed through each Valukian. It was only a matter of minutes until they had realigned themselves and the dogs were released.
Their efficiency, however, would for once prove to be their downfall. The word of Falconer's escape had already traveled far throughout the once Erion capital and by the time they were reeled back, leaks had sprung. Any ex-Erion citizen who had heard so much of a whisper felt their aching hearts alight themselves. Those who had been hanging onto hope rejoiced and those who had lost it began to find it once again. A pride that Erion had found in only the past few years erupted and the citizens who had idly been sitting back after their princess had fallen took charge.
While some Erionians lined the alleyways and major routes to prevent Valuk soldiers from passing, others brought out their meats. The fish that smelled the strongest were passed around and dragged all across the streets. Their reeking odor would throw off the scent of Falconer for the bloodhounds. By the time the dogs picked back the smell soldiers were met with lines of citizens who were in an uproar to defend one of their escaping heroes.

The more that Gidel passed through the cells the more he began to feel rage and disappointment beginning to spread through him. He hadn't expected their prisoners to be treated like royalty but if there was one thing that he carried in his heart and comportment it was to respect his enemies, fallen or not. "This is not respect." He growled under his breath as he looked into the cells of a prisoner who's leg was clearly infected. Shaking his head, he stepped away from the bars and strode out of the prison that had once been used to contain his own soldiers.
Gidel saw to it himself that the dogs were released and then met his already saddled stallion at the front of the castle. Instead of mounting the horse immediately he waited, one hand on the reigns, for word of how things outside were going. He didn't have to wait too long. Within the hour, reports were coming in about confused dogs and citizens lining the streets to block off soldiers. A sigh escaped him before he rested a hand on the hilt of his sword before swinging himself up onto his mount. "I want my guard to come with me and only act on my orders." Gidel called over his shoulder, waiting briefly for them to mount their own horses before clicking to his horse and riding out of the gates in a trot.
It wasn't quite as bad as the prince had been fearing it would be. The dogs were confused and several people were screaming at one another. Otherwise, things seemed to be rather peaceful. Many of the Erion citizens gave him nasty looks right up until they caught eye of the designs on his clothing, equipment and saddle that stated his status. He was impressed to see that despite their sudden change from hatred to fear they still stood their ground, even if they did take a step or two back. Then again, what else should he have expected from citizens who had been apart of a tyrannical kingdom for the past hundreds of years and then led by a princess who was about as sweet as a hungry lion and raging Tasmanian devil?
He rode out to the center of the chaos, where people were still blocking the streets and his men were just short of raising their blades of them. Giving the area a quick look over, he trotted his horse to the spot where he saw the best position to be heard. "EVERYONE!" He roared out, his booming voice somehow carrying over some of the screaming. Those in his personal guard repeated his words, shouting them out until each person had reached a brittle silence. Or at least his people had. "Listen to me: I do not want live steel to be presented in these situations. Not a single soldiers is to unsheathe their blade and use it against these people unless it is absolutely necessary. Use nets, binding magic- whatever you have to do to disarm and prevent them from moving. Violent force is your very last resort and when I say that I mean you ought to be about to die and there is no other option! Now carry the word out before I have unnecessary bloodshed on my hands! I am quite pissed at the moment so if I even hear but a whisper of someone doing otherwise I swear to the gods I will rain hellfire on their calloused asses. Do the lot of you understand me?"
He waited only a second to be sure that the order had been registered before looking towards the guard that was closest to him. "Go out and be sure that they're going to actually do as I say. I do not want any miscommunication tonight."
"Myself and my best will be on it, sire." The man replied with a bow in his saddle before he rode away. Gidel was still agitated but he was assured that he would be able to do the job, as the man was one of his best spies and already had an information network spread throughout the entire city. With a loud sigh, Gidel walked his horse away from the current mob and began making his way to another.
"You know, I thought I was going to have a full night's sleep for once." He laughed heartily before patting his stallion on the neck. "I think that this one is just as disgruntled as I am about being woken up."
"All in a day's work, Prince Gidel." One of the guards chimed back with a chuckle. "Perhaps afterwards the servants could appease you with some ale."
"Ah, that does sound nice." He rubbed his trimmed beard thoughtfully before nodding. "I will likely need it after all of this. I doubt anything will be resolved until the sun begins peeking over the city walls. Hell, we'll all need it!"

Take my hand Reachin' to my soul. Have you ever found Anything so pure before? I touched your hand You lost control. Do you really want me to Break down and cry? Mira smiled as she watched Annick stick the rabbits. She followed quietly, noticing the older woman's strange glances over to Charlotte and the...Well, Mira was not really sure what she was, but at least she knew that the stranger was a woman. The fourteen year old knelt next to Annick. She nodded once and dipped her hands in...And immediately pulled them out. The shock of the cold startled her for a few moments.
Letting her body relax into the cold, Mira submerged her hands in the water once again. Copying Annick, she rubbed her hands together, washing clean her hands for the first time in weeks. When the dirt, grime, and rabbit fat was washed from her hands, she pulled them out again. While she was looking for a part of her clothing to dry her hands on, she saw the difference between her now clean hands and the rest of her. Her original skin color was a milky tan from being out in the sun. It did not show through the amount of dirt layered on dirt.
Mira glanced at Annick. She thought a moment before she asked. "Can we look for a place to bathe? It's been weeks..." Mira trailed off. Now that she was cured from the infection, she could really feel how dirty she was. When her village and family was still alive, she rarely could bathe, but then, she never had gotten so dirty. The woman smiled at the child. She was not back to being a lively teenager by any mean but she could already see some colors perking up under the blood and dirt on Mira's face.
She looked around, cast a glance at the Princess and the elf. The elf was probably able to protect Lilith better than she would herself.
"If we go a little further, we'll probably find clean water accumulated in the rock." she whispered to Mira and gently taking her hand, she lead her deeper in the cave. They had no light and it became quickly darker. Pomme was about to give up when she found was she was looking for.
"Here..." There was a little pool, barely two or three feet deep and as wide. "The water is probably very cold, but this is all we can afford for the moment." She turned to give Mira some privacy. "You'll have to be quick." she murmured kindly. "Or you'll catch a cold." She went on talking. "When you are clean, don't put your clothes right back on, you'll use my cape to dry yourself then you'll put your clothes so that they stay dry."

((I'm gonna SUCK for awhile until I get back into the swing of rping... Just let me know if I need to lengthen or add anything to my posts...))
Samhailien watched silently for a moment as Pomme and Mira moved deeper into the cave, she chewed over her words before she spoke. There was, in actuality, no need, for she had all the information she needed, but the Princess always preferred conciseness. When the two girls disappeared, Sam turned to face the young girl squarely.
"Our ruse has not bought us much time. They have either found the horses or our tracks, though I pray it is the former. However, they are looking for us, now, not the horses. I do not know how quickly they will find us, but they have a magic-user among them. I have released all but my illusion magics, on the chance that their magic user is of any strength."
((Blargh! *curls up in a corner* It's horrible!))

Take my hand Reachin' to my soul. Have you ever found Anything so pure before? I touched your hand You lost control. Do you really want me to Break down and cry? 4/7/11- Edited a bit. Should put the post to right. Let me know if it needs more tweaking for Pomme. Just don't really know what Mira would say to her.--Edit#2: Fixed the time problem. IT should work better now. Hmmm. Have to say, I do like it more now. I guess this is what they mean by drafts...
Mira smiled as she followed Annick. She was happy that she was soon to be clean after weeks of nothing but dirt and muck. It had rained often, but the rain just made it worse. While they were walking, Mira noticed a difference in the air of the cave. She did not know exactly what it was, but she could tell it was different.
She nearly walked past where Annick indicated from too much concentration on the feeling. She nodded once as she said, "Yes, Annick," Bending down she dipped her hand into the water. Cold water was nothing new to her. Her family had rarely heated up water for anything, but food. The wood was too valuable to waste.
Mira expected exactly what Annick had expected the water to be. Freezing cold. Oddly, the water was neither. It was almost as if something hot was heating the water just a bit. Mira realized what the difference in the air was then. It was heat. The air deeper in the cave was warmer than the air closer to the entrance.
Curiosity drew Mira's attention deeper into the cave. She did not realize she was moving farther into the cave, really. She blindly continued on in complete concentration. She just had to know exactly what it was. In such a respect, she was still a curious little kid. The air temperature inclined the deeper she went. She had her hand on the cave wall to keep her direction. Even the cave wall was warm to the touch. She stumbled every once in a while on a protruding rock. Sometimes she even stepped in smallish pools like the first one Annick found. As she progressed into the cave each trip into the tiny pools' water grew warmer.
What seemed like an awfully short period of walking, tripping and stumbling, there was a sudden moment of nothing. Mira's mind blanked for a moment as she tried to process what was about to happen. Before she could make any sort of remotely coherent thought, she plummeted. Screeching she attempted to grab onto anything. Her fall ended quickly with a large and surprising splash. Take your time Look into my eyes Have you ever seen Anything so pure before?

Pomme had started humming a tune that she had heard in the castle when she noticed there were no splashes, no noises. "Mira?!" she turned as she spoke. The child was not there. She cursed softly, cast a look back towards the cave entrance, she could not see Lilith from where she was. "That's really not my day!" she grunted as she followed cautiously in the direction which the child had taken. "Mira? Where are you? Come back. This is dangeroooooooooooooooooous...." She heard a splash below her and shouted. "Careful!" before splashing herself in a warm pool. She popped up to the surface like a cork. "Mira? Mira?" she called worried. Luckily it was not pitch black thanks to an opening in the rock above. However she did not like the idea of their voices being heard outside. "Mira? Mira??" she went on calling in a softer, lower voice. Was the child drowning?! She started really worrying.
