Two servant girls, both looking to be a bit younger than Rory, spotted Rory and the puppy and skipped over to the duo's side. "How cute! What's his name?" One bent over to pet the puppy, and other more enthralled with Rory. "We can walk him outside for you if you'd like."

"His name's Ki Du an' I'll take him out, it's alreet," Rory chuckled, picking the puppy up. "Should get him outside fae walkies kinda quick like, actually, since I just bathed him. 'scuse me, ladies." He bowed a little and scooted past the girls, down the stairs, and out the back door.

The girls pouted a bit, having looked forward to playing with Ki Du, but resumed their work after being rejected.
Lydia sat by the pool's edge, looking somewhat longingly into the water and barely noticing a figure was walking past her before she jerked her head around to make sure she wasn't caught slacking. Oh, it was only Rory... Wait, it was Rory! She smiled back at him, hoping perhaps he'd notice her without having to speak up first.

The boy walked past, giving the girl a nod as he went by. He set the puppy down, holding the leash and waited for Ki Du to meander about and do his business. Rory looked back at Lydia. "Not t' be tellin' you your job, but ain't you gonna get in trouble sittin' out here?"

Lydia smiled faintly, wanting to laugh but not really in the mood for laughing. She held up a net, just high enough for the boy to see it before setting it back down. "I'm cleaning the pool..." Well, she was supposed to be. This really wasn't easy work, however, and she wished the Katans would hire a pool boy to do something like this. "Is that your puppy? He's cute." She didn't walk closer, not exactly wanting to go see the dog herself.

"Aye, he is. I just gave him a bath an' true t' nature, he's gotta gae pee a million times now," Rory chuckled. "Figured th' Katans would hae someone t' clean their pool. They got a person fae e'ery other job abouts here."

"I guess they consider cleaning the pool the same as cleaning anything else. It takes more muscle than I have, though." She sighed, not meaning that as an invitation for Rory to help her, though. "You should eat lunch soon. My brother was excited about being able to make it for Miss Lee again." She smiled softly at the boy, wondering if Rory'd met him yet.

Lydia smiled again and nodded. Standing herself up, she started to work again, though put very little effort into it, knowing she wouldn't be able to do much anyway. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind taking the day off... Where's Miss Lee? Or don't you know?"

"I guess she's in me room finishin' up from th' shower an' prolly stealin' me clothes by now," Rory answered, giving a shrug. He looked down at Ki Du, who looked back up at him with a big puppy smile. "Oi, lad. You look done enough now. Let's gae in, eh?" He tugged a bit on the leash to lead the puppy inside.

Lydia hurried to put the net away for now, following Rory inside. "Are you taking... Ki Du in the kitchen, too?" She peered up at him, silver eyes blinking from the puppy and back to Rory. She really shouldn't be this close to a dog -- her eyes were already starting to get irritated...

Lydia bit her lip, nodding reluctantly. Taking the leash after gesturing toward the kitchen, Lydia walked the pup upstairs, blinking as she saw Lee coming out of Rory's room. Why would she have taken a shower in his bathroom? Never mind that, she had a chance to see the boy's room uninterrupted now, with Lee heading out.
Lee smiled down at Ki Du as she saw him walking down the hall, noticing the dog even before Lydia. "Hey there, little man. Where'd Rory go, hm?" She bent over and waved to him, not even bothering to say hello to the girl walking him.
"He's in the kitchen, I believe..." Lydia answered for the dog, eyes watering a bit from being around Ki Du.
Lee looked up, frowning at the girl, assuming she'd been crying. Well, her mother had just died... Poor girl. "Th-thank you... Um, ya know, you can prolly take the rest of the day off if you want. I mean, I dun think my parents would mind, and it looks like you kinda need it..." She probably worded that wrong, and while it was meant to comfort, it probably sounded more like an insult. Lee looked down, patting the pup's head before wandering down the hall and heading for the kitchen.

Rory was busy pestering the chefs until they finally left him alone with enough space in their kitchen to fix a meal for himself and Lee. He'd asked what he was allowed to cook and was given a couple of pork chops. Moving about the kitchen and staying out of the chefs' way, he rather impressed them with his culinary skills, preparing the chops in a way his mother had taught him and located some apple sauce to serve with them, plus a fixed up a small salad.

Lee poked her head inside the kitchen, blinking at how busy it seemed. Making her way inside, she found the room contrasted quite a bit with the laziness of the rest of the house, and actually enjoyed the rush she felt just being in the same room as everyone. Spotting Rory, Lee hopped to his side, peering over his shoulder to take a look at what he was making. "You're fast..." Her eyes widened at how easy he made cooking seem, just as impressed as the chefs, even though she didn't know what really went into preparing a meal.
