In the rafters of an old building sat a young girl who quietly watched the mice scurry about the floor, her head resting on her hand out of bored while she let out a small yawn.

He smiled, kissing her hand back as well. "It's fine... I just... probably scared you..." he signed, his heart beating. He felt stupid for laying it on so early.

Angel smiled, signing into his hand, "It's okay, I understand, first human in a while." She smiled, sitting down and pulling him down next to her, she rested against him. "I'm so tired." She signed.

Angel hesitated before taking his hand. "I haven't been held since my parents passed away, I only see my sister and patients who are quick to leave, Luna is afraid to hug me, why I don't know but I can see it in her eyes. So be nice," She turned and smiled up at him, "I guess I'm just vulnerable right now."

He smiled, rolling his eyes. "Oh, well... I didn't mean it like that... I just... I didn't say I didn't like it..." When she smiled, he could see her teeth shining just a little. "You have a really pretty smile..."

She blushed but then thought about something, She took his hand tightly "Wait, you can see my smile, okay I'm really confused about all of this." She sighed, seriously confused about what exactly his condition was.

He laughed, shaking his head. "I can see varying degrees of light... both inner and outer. In other words, I can see spiritual light and optical light, which both lend themselves to my being able to see. Generally, a human's spirit is darker than an angel's, so an angel will appear to shine. However, in the absence of an angel, I am able to detect humans due to the fact that their bodies catch and refract optical light, which I can see perfectly. So, to put it in simpler terms, your teeth shine, even a little, and I can see that. I can see your eyes... and I can see your spirit." He was afraid she'd run, but she deserved to know the truth.

Angel smiled bigger, "So basically you can see, you just see differently, better actually because you can keep yourself safe. That's amazing." Then her body shook against his like she was laughing. "I just realized I don't know your name."

Angel smiled, "Anji Miala" She signed into his hand, she liked the nick name he had given her, "And you can speak normally to me if you wish. I can still hear." She said with a smile a blush crossing her cheeks anytime she thought about him smiling. "Where did you come from last? Was it someone where with a lot of people or desolate like this?"

Ryu smiled wide, nodding. "Anji Miala... Ang... Angel... I like them. Sounds... beautiful..." he said, frankly. Yes, it was laying it on thick, but it felt wrong not to tell her how he felt about her name.

Once again she blushed, "Thank you." She signed softly, "We should probably try to find you a place to sleep, I'm sure you're tired from everything that has happened to day." She stood up, still holding his hand. "You know you're smile is really nice too."

Angel led him to a bedroom that had two beds in it, but they were a bit small. "This is my room but I can sleep with my sister if you want to stay here." She signed, giving him another smile, "And I can start research tomorrow if you want me to heal your eyes, but only if you want."
