Damian wanted to scoop her up and swing her around the kitchen, but knew better than that. She was still wounded, after all.
"I promise you, anything you wish to do, we will. Even if it's something we've done before."
He rained kisses on her cheeks and neck, laughing and thanking whatever had given him this second chance.

Raquel laughed as well as he practically drown her in affections. "There's that laugh I missed..." She smiled, giving him a few more kisses before pulling back. "Though I hate to say it, you are skinny as a rail as well. So eat up love..." She pushed the bread and soup towards him reaching for her own bowl.

He... had laughed. Heartily, like he hadn't in so long.
"That is the effect you have on me. Bringing me back with just... being." Damian ate his bread like a child eager to just finish his meal to go off to play. There were so may things he wanted to show Raquel. Lorey's huge stomach, the house they'd renovated, Nat's work outside, Teagan's larger shop, everything.

Raquel smiled warmly, finishing her own meal up. "I'm glad I do, though slow down darling, you'll make yourself sick eating that fast..." Her smile and face were both brimming with happiness and love as she just shook her head, watching him finish up his food.

"I'd rather be sick with food than sick with the sadness I've had all this time. But that's been cured..."
Damian swept his empty bowl and cup aside and caught her in his arms again. He just couldn't keep away from her, not after everything that had happened.
"What shall we do now? Go back and rest, shower? We could do that separately if you'd like... Just tell me what you want."

Raquel gave in with a smile, melting into him. "Whatever you want, as long as I dont have to be away from you..." She mumbled her reply, kissing his bare chest, pressing her forehead agaisnt him.

"Then it will be rest and relaxation while you heal." Damian just wanted her to heal, to keep her away from the rest of the prying world until she was ready to be brought back into the light. And he just wanted her all to himself, which was a sweet, albeit selfish, desire.
"Would that be alright?" he added.

Raquel smiled, looking up at him and nodding slightly. "Sounds good..." She spoke softly. "God...I love your smell....Did you know you smell like...you?" She asked, scrunching up her nose as she chuckled, her cheeks turning pink as she gazed up at him. "It's lovely..." She sighed.

That made Damian chuckle. Gosh, he hadn't even done that in what felt like forever...
"I smell like me? Well, I suppose that's a good thing as long as I don't offend."
Damian scrunched up his nose and rubbed it against hers while their faces were close. He could see the life in her eyes.
"Let's go rest... Do you want any medicine to help that back? Maybe help you sleep. You hardly stayed sound while you shut your eyes."

She smiled in return though furrowed her brow to the medication. "To be honest...I'd rather just ween myself back into regular sleep...I just-...I dont like feeling like I cant wake up...If thats ok. I'd rather just avoid any kind of sleeping pill for awhile...at least till I'm feeling more myself..." She admitted honestly.

Really, she knew it would take some time for her to be completely 'fine' again, since she was still a bit terrified. She was afraid she'd go to sleep and not be able to wake up again, never to see Damian again either... it was a physical problem sure, but mostly just in her head....

"Darling, it's more than alright. It's what you want..."
He gently took her hand and pulled her slightly towards the living room area. "I can have us a nice little set up here so we're warm, close to the kitchen and phone... We can listen to music, sleep."
It seemed Damian wouldn't stop trying to make their lives comfortable once more, or stop fawning over her. It was almost desperate how he tried to think of every which way to comfort her.

"You dont have to go through so much trouble... I'm in heaven if you just hold me for awhile...I know I'm wearing it out love...but I just missed your touch and voice so much..." She sighed, eyes closed a moment as she leaned against him, letting him lead her to the couch.

Damian sat her down, and with a kiss, promised her he would be right back. It was the first time Damian dared let her out of his sight, but he ran upstairs and in record time, retrieved blankets, pillows, and pajama bottoms for them both. Once back downstairs, he appeared. Or rather, his lower half appeared with the rest of him hidden behind a mountain of blankets and clothes.
"Blue plaid bottoms are for you," he mumbled as he carefully picked his way through the room to her.

EDIT

He felt such a need to be meticulous... to choose only the softest blankets for her, the best pajama bottoms that he could find. Raquel, to him, was like spun glass; she had to be sent through the fires the be formed into the shape she held. And yet, she was still ever so subtly still changing. With one wrong move, she could shatter. Damian was still bringing his own pieces back together in now frantic ways, and wasn't so sure he could place hers back at the same time should everything fall apart once more... but damn, he would try.

Raquel took the pants thankfully, slipping before turning to him. "...Come here...." She mumbled softly, pulling him onto the couch, pull the blankets about them as she simply layed with him. "...I can say it a thousand more times...but I love you. We just need to...catch up on lost time..." She whispered, kissing his chin and neck softly, reaching up to touch his face, as if trying to relearn all his features again.

Her touch made his heart swell in his chest. They'd already cried and done everything they could in such a short time to regain each other's touch and presence, but just by kissing him so sweetly, Raquel was releasing his sadness again. It was cleansing, though, to have it all come out instead of remaining stagnant.
Damian hid his face in the curve of her neck, and came to rest his forehead on her shoulder. Words couldn't express anything anymore. Just having her there made all the difference in the world.

He held her close, but every time he did, he could feel the bandages through her shirt. It was a constant reminder that this pain was only his own that he was feeling, and that hers was just as powerful.
Perhaps it was even worse.
His breath kept catching in his chest, but Damian wouldn't quite let it out again for fear he'd start his sobbing. To release sadness was one thing, but sobbing like he had was just too much.
