Covering her mouth as she finished the last bite of cookie, Lee blushed at having been caught. "S-sorry." She laughed at herself before attempting to climb from the fence onto Kettle with the box still in her hands, which, for some reason, proved to be a rather difficult task. Eventually using her problem solving skills and just handing the box up to Rory, Lee climbed onto the horse and in front of the boy, smiling nervously back to him.

Rory got her to scoot back a bit, snug against him, and gave her the box to hold. Sliding one arm around her to help steady her, he clicked his tongue and got Kettle moving at an easy pace toward the southern field.

Honestly, if she was going to be holding the box the whole time, there wouldn't be any cookies left by the time they got to eating. At the feel of being pulled closer, and with the motions of the horse, Lee couldn't help but laugh to herself, assuming the worst of Rory. "Enjoying yourself back there?" Wow, was she turning into a pervert already? Farstep was rubbing off on the girl, and the prude in her was very much ashamed.

"Very much," the boy replied, grinning. "Want me t' make him gae a bit faster, or are you alreet wi' th' walkin'?" Okay, he had to admit, he was enjoying this more than he thought, but it hadn't really occurred to him till Lee was riding with him that Kettle's movement and the closeness could be . . . good. Very good.

Shaking her head and stifling her laughing, Lee now understood why it was that she assumed the worst of him. Because he was very much a teenage boy. She honestly didn't like him any less because of it, though; if anything, she liked him more. It certainly made for an amusing time, at least. "I dun care. Whatever you want..." She shrugged, trying to sound as casual as possible. If Rory was enjoying himself, then she didn't mind if they kept trotting along like this.

The boy stayed quiet, but he did get Kettle moving a bit faster, if only to get to the picnic spot he'd picked out. Once there, he slid off first, leading the horse and Lee to a tree where he hitched Kettle up. Moving back to the side he held up his hands to catch Lee.

Sliding into his arms, Lee's eyes were wide with awe at how nice a setting he'd picked. "Wow... It's so pretty... I hope you don't plan to seduce me here." She smirked up at the boy, enjoying teasing a little too much.

"Well, it wis on th' top o' me list, reet after eatin'," Rory chuckled, tugging one of the blankets down off Kettle and walking over to spread it out.

Giggling, Lee half hoped the boy was joking, though the other half of her really wouldn't have minded. Then again, three times within twenty-four hours was pushing it. After the blanket had been laid, Lee set their food down, sitting in the middle and ready to eat the rest of the cookies, sparing a few for Rory, of course.

Rory settled down next to her with a soft grunt of effort, then sighed, leaning back on one hand and looking up at the clouds. "W' should do this more often, yeah?"

"Mmm hmm." Smiling contentedly, Lee looked up at Rory, noticing he was looking at the clouds. "You like the outdoors?" She leaned her head on his shoulder, looking up with him.

"Sure," Rory said, shifting his weight a bit to let her lean on him more. "Me parents raised me up as a good didikai boy. W' like our freedom an' bein' outside feels less constrictin'." He looked down at her. "What about you, eh? Like th' outdoors much?"

"I guess I like it more now that I live here. But space wasn't really an issue before." She laughed awkwardly, not really trying to make one sound better than another. "I used to sit outside a lot by the pool, but that was about it." Thinking for a moment, she looked over to Rory again. "Have you ever gone swimming?" She wasn't sure if that was a stupid question or not, but she was curious either way.

The boy shook his head. "Nae. I donnae know how t' swim. It's not really somethin' w' get much practice in. I wouldnae mind learnin' t' swim one day, it just ne'er really came up."

"Really? I should teach you, if you want. That's something I'm actually good at." She giggled softly, looking up at him hopefully. She wondered, though, when they'd get the chance. Beaches weren't great for learning how to swim, and she wasn't exactly allowed to go back and forth to her old home just for swimming lessons.
