"We have Rook who can change shape, and do some damage, but I believe that's about it." Kat waited a moment, then smiled, "Thanks, Sam, and take care yourself." She said a quick goodbye and hung up.
Kat stayed where she was on the bumper, glancing over at Jarred. "I suppose we should probably head back then, and get that plan sorted out," she said, not quite moving yet.

"I suppose we should probably head back then, and get that plan sorted out," she said, not quite moving yet. Jarred was leaned up against the side of the car, arms folded across his chest. "You're right, we probably should, but not right away." He said, leaning over as he uncrossed his arms, holding a hand out to help her up.

"Oh, that's right. You had some other errands." Kat took the offer and let him help her up, noting the size of his hand. She glanced up to meet his eyes, "The arcade, wasn't it?"

"That won't take long, I was thinking something more like this." He smiled, drawing her close and leaning in for a kiss.

Kat brought up a hand and placed her finger on Jarred's lips, holding a barrier for a brief moment, that kept him back while she decided. In the end her hand slipped back, although slightly scared, she couldn't say no to the offer itself.
Kat pushed up having to move onto her tiptoes to make up for the height difference, and she met his mouth with hers, hesitant at first with a slight tang of cranberry flavor. When her mind met blissful silence, Kat pushed in, enjoying the experience for what it was, while Jarred met with wave after wave of cranberry flavor, each intensifying with the deepness of the kiss.

He pushed back into the kiss, the addictive taste drawing him in. He broke it off after a moment, watching her. "Anything?" He asked quietly about her power.

She paused, her voice a whisper. "Good thing we've got some in the back of the car," She pulled back, a teasing grin on her face, "I'll get it out."

Jarred laughed, grinning back and stood up straight.
"Did you enjoy it then?" He asked, watching her. "Did it live up to expectations?"

Kat was half hanging out of the SUV door, pulling a few bags around until she found the cranberry juice. She stepped out, opening the bottle and taking a quick drink before answering. "Are you asking me to kiss and tell, Jarred?"
She smiled, offering him the cranberry juice. "It was delightful, thank you." She headed towards the passenger seat of the SUV, glancing over her shoulder once, "and thank you for stopping us when you did, I don't know if I could have."

He took a quick swig, noting the subtle differences between her cranberry taste and the drink itself. He climbed in the car, pulling out.
"We would have had to eventually, there's only so much kissing you can do in a busy parking lot." He glanced out the window at some old lady glaring at them. He waved back, smiling. "Even though it was because it was your first real kiss, I'll take that last bit as a compliment."

"Eventually, I suppose." Kat glanced back at the old woman and couldn't hold back a smile. She hadn't seen her, which was unusual, considering Kat for the most part kept herself aware of the surroundings during a kiss.
"So where is this arcade of yours?"

"Close, actually. I picked a store nearby." He said, and a few minutes of driving later and they were there. It took up two spots in a fairly busy strip mall, the sign "Emerald Visions" lit up over a detailed sign. Jarred parked and climbed out, leaving the cranberry juice behind.
He entered the arcade, the noise of games ringing and people yelling washing over them. He walked up to the store counter, a young man of about 19 standing with a badge hanging from his neck.
"Jarred! Where you bee... Oh, that explains it." The man smiled and stood up as Jarred and Kat entered, giving Kat a quick once-over.
"Hey Rick, this is Kat. How many we got in?"
"Bout 40 people, give or take."
"Alright, buzz the store and tell 'em we're gonna close up early for the day in about 10 minutes. Finish their games, but something came up."
Rick gave Jarred a funny look. "Closin' early man? What for?"
"Something came up." Jarred shrugged. "Arcade's gonna be closed for a while, too. I might get called away, and I don't want to leave it here with just you and Bill." Jarred smiled. "Consider it extra paid vacation."
Rick's face lit up at the 'paid' part, and he relayed the message to the crowd.

Kat gave Rick a friendly nod, but then let herself get distracted by the lights and games. She continued to listen to Jarred's conversation with Rick, but let herself wander over to one of the closer games, examining it and casually pressing one or two buttons...as no one can honestly resist pushing the red shiny button.
