Rhian tilted her head, though she was frowning a bit - both worried and annoyed at something that only she knew about. "Lauss-teacher. . . I don't think. . . . .whatever you saw, it wasn't what happened. Sibling-Ziazan knows what it's saying. . ." Which meant that it was absolutely certain that the kind Essentic who had helped her home the night she'd gotten lost had also nearly killed Ziazan and had injured Lauss, badly. What was she supposed to think now?

"That Essentic is bad news, Lauss," Zia said, frowning. "He says he wants to help us, but mostly he just hurts us. He shouldn't be trusted." He looked at Rhian. "And we should talk to Banning about this all. He should know there's a rogue Essentic out there hurting us."
Rory looked around the vardo. "It's probably in th' storage under th' bed, yeah?" He went over and opened the cabinet to start searching through it. "Find a spot where you wanna hang it, lass, while I look fae it."

Lauss looked helplessly from Rhian to Ziazan, clearly having a difficult time understanding them. "B-but... Mister Vin told me not to hurt others. Why would he have done such a thing purposely?" It didn't make sense. What reason would the essentic have for causing Lauss pain?
Lee nodded to Rory, thankful that he wouldn't have to be looking through any of her unmentionables just to find a silly hammock. Then again, Lauss had been the one to unpack most of her things, and she had no idea what he may have hidden under there... Looking around the vardo, she really didn't see many places a hammock could fit, and decided near the back was really her only option. She was pleasantly surprised, however, to see hooks were already in the wall. "I guess we're supposed to set it up here..." She was confident the hooks would be strong enough to hold Lauss, but two people might be pushing it if she were to take Rory up on his earlier offer.

Rhian bit her lip, unsure about voicing her thoughts to either Essentic - or to Faolan and Ellandra, who were still very much ther, sitting on the couch. "I . . . I don't know, Sibling-Ziazan, he helped me get home when I got lost, and was very nice about it. But he hurt you, and Lauss-teacher. . . it sounds like he's very confused," she said, pausing for a moment before adding, "But we probably should talk to Mr. Banning about him. . . he might know more than we do." She made sure not to add about the times during her and Mama's stay at Elst's, how sometimes she'd think she felt an Essentic nearby, one that seemed a lot like the rogue Essentic - for one thing, she had been so overworked she could have been wrong, and for another a comment like that would just make Sibling-Ziazan even more upset.
Ellandra watched the goings-on with worried eyes, and hefted herself to her feet after a few moments. "I think this is definitely something to talk to Banning about," she said quietly, gently taking Lauss' arm and holding it carefully. The brunette turned to Faolan after a moment, and asked, "Faolan, do we have anything that could help Lauss?" He seemed to be in so much pain. . . she couldn't just leave the little one to suffer.

"I donnae know how t' fix him, lass," Faolan said, leaning over to look at Lauss' wrist as well. "Banning or the doc might be able t' fix it, though. Could maybe wrap it tight to help some."
"Alreet then, lass," Rory said bringing out the hammock and unfolding it to check for damage and make sure it wasn't tangled up.

Lauss was confused, too. It seemed they each had a different opinion of this "Vin" guy. Zaizan hated him, Lauss loved him, and Rhian was somewhere in between. It also didn't help, though, that everyone seemed to know Banning but him. Apparently the man was a genius of some kind, though, if he could help with the rouge essentic and his wrist.
Lee peeked over Rory's shoulder, not sure what to do to be of any help. "So you just... hang it?" Even she could have done that...

Ellandra nodded to Faolan. "I think. . . something t immobilize.... Lauss, sweetheart, where's the pain the worst? And is there a way you could describe it?" If they could get half an idea of what was wrong - and yes, Ziazan might have been a more accurate source since it had just read Lauss, but Lauss would probably appreciate getting to be "back in the loop" - then they'd have a better idea of how to help him.
Rhian tilted her head and bit her lip, before hugging Lauss gently - leaving his hurt arm to Ellandra - and kissing his cheek. "You'll be all right, Lauss-teacher. I know it!"

"Well, best thing t' do would be t' get some cloth or, even better, leather straps and bind it tight so he cannae move it much. I'd recommend a cast, but we donnae hae a way t' do tha' here at Farstep an' takin' him t' a hospital is out," Faolan said, examining Lauss' wrist gently. "We should take him t' tha' doctor tha' works fae Banning. She'd prolly know how t' fix th' lad."
Zia stood silent to the side, arms folded across its thin chest. Its eyes had a darker cast to their usual brightness as it remembered back to when it was just a proto and the rogue Essentic had nearly killed it. "I wonder if Banning knows about it."

Lauss pointed, though dared not actually touch, the area where his pain seemed most intense -- almost the center of his wrist. "It hurts, Miss Ellandra." He told her rather unemotionally, likely not helping answer her question at all. He had no other experiences with pain aside from hitting his head or burning his hand, and those weren't at all comparable. Pondering for a moment, he thought back to the actual time of the injury. "I remember hearing something snap. It is likely that I fractured my scaphoid or tore a ligament." Or both. He was thankful for having taken an interest in one of Lee's anatomy text books before they left home, but that wouldn't help him know how to heal such an injury.
Lauss turned and smiled softly at Rhian, not even noticing the pain at that second. He found it odd she'd decided to kiss his cheek -- perhaps she missed his lips? -- and would have to ask her about it later.

Ellandra nodded fr the moment and turned to Faolan. "So . . . a brace of some sort?" As she heard Lauss' description of the injury, her eyes darkened with concern. "Well, whatever we do, best to do it quickly, we don't need you hurting any longer than you already have been, Lauss."
Rhian weakl returned Lauss' smile, though her eyes were bright with worried, unshed tears for her boyfriend. He was seriously hurt, even though he'd grown, and it made her heart ache to feel how much pain he was in.

Faolan gestured over to a drawer. "There's some leather straps in there I use fae costumin'. They might work fae now till we can get you t' tha' doctor what works for Banning."
Zia went over to get the straps then brought them to Faolan, watching as its owner bound Lauss' wrist.

Nodding to Ellandra, he was actually a bit happy to have gained so much attention from everyone -- even Faolan, it seemed. His smile faded a bit as pain shot through his arm while the man wrapped his wrist, but he didn't pull away, simply shaking a bit at the sensation.
Lauss tilted his head, noticing that Rhian's eyes seemed to be... glistening. He was no expert, but it almost looked like tears were forming. "Is Rhian hurt, as well?" This time, his voice actually showed a bit of the concern he was feeling.

Ellandra fell silent, though she looked on as Faolan wrapped Lauss' wrist, worried for the young alter, and hoping that Dr. Lecter would be able to help the poor darling with his injury.
Rhian shook her head and smiled a little at Lauss. "No, I'm not ......... just sad because you are, Lauss-teacher."

"There, that ought t' hold it till th' doc can hae a look," Faolan said, ruffling Lauss' hair afterwards. "You alreet, yeah?""
Rory stood up after hanging the hammock and looked at Lee. "Looks sturdy enough. You want me t' try it out an' make sure it'll hold him?"

"Rhi shouldn't be sad, I'm getting healed." Still, as he said his words he winced a bit while Faolan finished up. "Yes, sir." Lauss looked down at the leather bound around his wrist, nodding with approval. "It looks masculine. I like it." Plus it was uncomfortable, like the cast had been, which he figured was a good thing if he was to heal properly.
"Yes, please..." Hopefully this would work out; she didn't have the money for a new hammock and would hate to have Lauss sleep on the floor. She watched Rory curiously, not entirely sure how one even went about getting in and out of a hammock.
