paawiis So my twelve year old sister wants to start wearing make up regularly, but im not too sure about it,
When did you start wearing make up regularly ? I kind of just eased into it, bit by bit. Only for things like discos and partys. I think its way to young to be wearing it regularly. sad

i never wear it because its too complicated but every girl i know started wearing it in between 2nd and 7th grade so its really up to why she wants to wear it and if its for the right reasons if its for the way to get into the popular crowd or to impress guys and get them to go out with her or anything other than just because she likes to wear it she isn't ready so you just have to be careful about what she says to ask and how she asks and kind of interogate her to find out why because she will try to hide it if she isnt wearing it for the right reasons. but this is my way of thinking and i think you should if she is allowed tell her the way to put on makeup is too make it look like you dont have any at all on you lots of girls at my school made that mistake and look like freaky clownish rock star wannabes so be careful with what she uses.

I started around twelve. As long as she doesn't grow a dependency on it, I think it's good that she's ready to start experimenting with her style :3
Just be a good big sister and guide her wisely. Make sure she doesn't go overboard, tell her what will definitely not look good with her (in a nice way, of course), and be supportive. ^ _ ^

yum_tea I started wearing make-up when I was 12 or so, though if you count the Tinkerbell play cosmetics you could say I started a lot sooner than that. I think it's fine for people of any age or gender to play with cosmetics, it's basically just a toned-down version of the greasepaint we let little kids wear for Halloween.

i think 12 is too young. (imo) she should wait till she's 16
she's gonna start puberty if she hasn't already and makeup isn't gonna do anything good for her skin at that time
i'm 20 and i've never worn makeup except for when i've had to go on stage lol

Personally, I think different makeups should start being able to be worn regularly at different ages. For special occasions, like weddings, plays (I know very much about stage makeup, and it's crazy), or some kind of formal gathering, some of my ideal regulations alter.
For stage makeup, you're forced to cake layer after layer on your face, so, really, age doesn't matter. You NEED to wear blush, you NEED to wear foundation. This is, at least, my experience.
But, this is my normal guideline...
Lip gloss - doesn't matter, maybe 10 or something, whenever they want Mascara - 11 or 12 Eyeliner - 13 Blush - 13 or 14 Lipstick - 17 Foundation - only if you need it
I really don't like foundation.

P a n d a s P a n t i e s I would love to start but, i seriously dont know how and im 18 LOL yum_tea Just get some make-up and play around with it. Experiment. If something doesn't look right to you, you can always just wash it off and try again. It's not like make-up is permanent or anything.

Yeah, it's too young to wear make up because it damages the young skin and the skin is still to sensitive to wear a make up. U must be at least 16 or 17 to wear a make up unless there's an occasion that u need to wear a make up. - based on my mother

I think when you start highschool you should ease into it. Dont just go and put on bright red lipstick and dark purple eyeshadow. Start with light caot of lipstick or lipgloss, then mascara, eyeliner. And if your used to it you can start with the heavy stuff.
