*Kyla glances over at Kold. His distress worries her, but she knows better than to call attention to it during a fight. Hien glows purple, and she dashes around the knightly figure, drawing a purple circle around it*
Blanc! Focus Marrow!!
*Kyla's yeti familiar Blanc unleashes the attack. Peircing bone spikes rise from the purple circle and converge on the armored individual*

*The knight blocks a few of the Blizzard Raid strikes with his arm, but Kokujo's attack changes his focus and gives him some damage...as well as the remaining Blizzard Raid strikes hitting. The focus marrow damages and traps him there.* "Interesting. Perhaps....wha....what....?!"*Kold and the knight resonate. A blue surge of energy enters the knight. Kold collapses to one knee, showing fatigue* Impos.....who? "I'm borrowing this body for a while. I have a need to speak with these people."*from seemingly from nowhwere, large spheres of water appear in the room. They all converge around the knight and flash freeze. After a brief silence, the ice shatters to reveal a face not seen a long time.* *Overlord Gentaru, the other Kold from another time, has arrived. He glances at the group, then to Kold.*

"Gentaru....damn you. Why are you here?"
*despite his words, Kold looks like he feels a bit better. He must have been suppressing Gentaru deep within his soul since their last encounter....four years ago*

((OH NO! NOT GENTARU! THE LAST TIME HE WAS HERE, HE BLEW UP A WHOOOOOOOOOOLE KITCHEN!!!))
*Kyla immediatley moves to Kold's side. She makes no move to attack, but her grip visibly tightens on Hien. She says nothing, but lets out deep, dangerous sounding growls with each breath. The sight of Gentaru fills her with rage*

Kokujo blinked, a little confused as he watched on, then things started to click, the familiar figure- "You.....you're, Overlord Gentaru..." Kokujo narrowed his eyes and he hissed the name. "....What sort of trick is this? Kold killed you and your sorry ambitions years ago....." he added, not shifting from his battle stance.
Was it some sort of illusion? This place was strange like that after all, though something about this Gentaru told Kokujo that wasn't the case. He threw a quick look at Kold, as if to say 'the heck is going on?'.
"...yyyooooouu look familiar somehow" Corbenik scratched his chin as he also narrowed his eyes at Gentaru, though more in puzzlement than anger. "I hope that means you somehow owe me money. You look pretty rich and all. That hair though, I can swear I know someone else with the same ridicules blue hair.....are you related to Frowzen?" Corbenik added cluelessly.

*Gentaru nods to Kyla* "I understand your anger. After all the other you: Kinchou (Golden Leader) Kyla believed it to the very end."*he looks to Kold, genuinely surprised. Quite a change to his eternal stern glance* "What am I doing here? You're the one who accepted me as your host."*Kold looks up to Gentaru, equally surprised* " ..........huh?!"
*Gentaru takes a good look at Kold* "I see, so you still haven't discovered the Truth yet." *he shakes his head, frustrated* "After everything that's happened, you still understand nothing." *he summons an ice throne and sits down* *to Kokujo* "You are correct. I am not Overlord Gentaru, but rather a remnant that Kold accepted into his soul. I see that even he does not understand why he did it.
Kold is Gentaru and Gentaru is Kold. I can serve no purpose other than attempt to bring Kold's true memories to the surface and aid him in realizing things that he may have overlooked. Everything I explain is nothing that Kold may never have thought about at one time or another." "Then why didn't you tell me this before?" "I told you: I am merely a remnant. The real Gentaru is dead and gone and I am only able to answer what you are aware of, albeit latent in your heart. Gentaru allowed himself to die at your hands four years ago. You know this. Gentaru's strength was thirty-fold to Kold's. Dying at Kold's hands in a 1-on-1 duel was nearly impossible.
Gentaru took the path of Overlord in an attempt to solve the world's problems. However, he had only realized the Truth after it was too late." "What are you saying?" "Everything is connected to your memories. Do you not find it odd that you lived for hundreds of years with no idea of your origin? Are all of those memories real? If not, then whose purpose is it to hide these from you?""You sure picked a random time to say these things. It just seems like you're trying to confuse me. We don't have time for your rambling." "Rambling? No. This is the most appropriate time. Everything was done to prepare you for things to come, to prevent things from coming to pass. An evil ruler of a castle, four guardians cardinal to that empire. To top it off, a ruler bent on nothing but the erasure of existence. Haven't you realized it yet? Yokoshima is doing the exact thing Overlord Gentaru did: play the villian to manipulate the heroes. It is all an act to make sure the heroes fulfill a goal, even if it means defeat of the 'villian'.
Gentaru set up that elaborate charade to prepare you for this day: the day when Yokoshima would tighten his grip on all of you. The Golden Spire could never erase all life on Gaia, even with a great machine. What you see through those tinted lenses of yours if not the truth, but rather what others created for you to see. Your memories are the key to the Truth, but you are too afraid to even seek it out." "I've had enough of this. My memories don't matter right now. I have to avenge the death of my child, and make Yokoshima pay once and for all." *Gentaru scoffs* "Do you really think this is the first time? It seems that nothing I say has any effect. Fine, ignore my advice. It is true that Yokoshima needs to be eliminated forever, but at this rate......the Second Great Cataclsym will come to pass."

"Second...Great...Cataclsm...." *Kold clutches his head, those words having an effect.*
"Megiddo.....Legion.....Ark.....Sodom...Gomorrah...Cu....guh!"
*Kold says the same names that King Seiryu mentioned after being free from Yokoshima's control, and two more names. There may be some truth to what "Gentaru" says. Kold rises, the pain in his head subsiding*
"Who....why...I don't understand....! But...somehow....it's true...."

*Kyla grips her forehead* Wow...I have a worse headache than that time I drank one of Kold's Absolute Zero slushies...Let me get this straight, mew mew. Kold has a fragment of Gentaru in him. And Kold's memories up to a point are faulty...and us fighting Yokoshima is somehow going to tear a hole in the universe or something? Grrrrrrrrrr....
Fragment or not, whatever the hell you are, my memories are real and whole where Yokoshima is concerned. And all of the things that we've been through at the Lunar Hope, Kold's been with us through all of it.
*She takes Kold's arm gently* Kold...I don't want to cause you any more pain than you're in. But what is true? What does any of this mean?

Kokujo had since relaxed his stance some, taking in this new information, or as much of it as he could. Second great cataclysm? Remnant? Gentaru as the martyr? He wasn't sure whether things had started making sense or if the whole game had just been changed. In any case, it seemed like Kold had some answered locked away in his memories somewhere.
Kokujo looked over towards Kold and Kyla. Not being much of a comforting type, he kept his distance with a look of deep thought on his face as he listened to Kolds words.
He turned back to 'Gentaru', "So you're saying the real Gentaru was just testing us for this? That he somehow realised his wrong before we ever set foot in his dimension? Even so, why would he die as the tyrant, instead of giving us warning then?" Kokujo asked, then folded his arms and closed his eye "...hmf....still, there's not much we can do about that now. We're already in the thick of things, we can't turn back, there is only a path before us that leads to either victory or death, knowing the truth, and Kold's lost memories.....these things will likely be important, but right now, they hold no sway over our immediate future"
Kokujo glanced back at Kold again then back to Gentaru "The only thing that matters right now, is that we fight Yokoshima, whatever you would tell us, we must climb that wall first in order to do anything about what's beyond it"

*to Kyla* "That 'Fragment of Gentaru' is telling the truth. There is something not right with this entire situation. I don't full understand it, but something is going to happen as a result. Everything is leading up to something, and my memories are connected. I just don't fully understand what or why that is." *to Kokujo* "Would you really have believed a man who murdered Kyla, the woman he loved the most? Gentaru was a martyr as penance for his crimes, as well as his own way to start over." *points to Kold* "A man like him who chooses to hide things until the very last moment is even worse when he is twice as old. Gentaru sacrificed everything to prevent something.
Kold. You hide things because you yourself are aware that you are ignorant about so much more. You want to cling to what you know, but that is counter-productive.
I'll tell you what I am able:
1. At this point yes: killing Yokoshima is in your best interest.
2. Kold: be wary of your true memories. While you need to understand the Truth, be careful who you seek out to help. Others can gain from those memories.
Here are questions for you to ponder, Kold.
1. Why do you truly feel remorse, and feel the need to seek redemption? Was it really from your days as an assassin?
2. Why did Midori, Brimmstone's second-in-command, not recognize you despite your memory telling you that you were a part of his army?
2. What are the Toukan? Why did Yokoshima need them to be exterminated?
3. Why did you really take me, a fragment of Gentaru's soul, into yourself?
This is important, and I will leave you with these final questions:
'What is Yokoshima's true identity?' 'Kold: who are you, truly?'
All of these questions and the events occurring are interconnected. That is all I can say. There is nothing more that Kold has realized or considered at this point in time."

*Kyla can't take it any longer* Grrrrr....enough! While I may eventually see a point in all this, and it may be helpful in the future, sending Kold into an identity crisis isn't going to help at this point.
*She looks Kold in the eye* Kold is....Kold. That's what really matters. We can't deal with the things that we don't know or understand just yet. All we can do is move forward.
*She takes Kold's hands* I...know I have little right to try and comfort you. I mean...I didn't know you all those years ago, and I suppose of all the people you've ever met in your long life, I've probably only known you for a short time. But...I know you as, the first person to recognize my ability and to consider me an equal. I know you as the fierce ally, whom I wish to fight beside until the end of my days. And I know you as the man who comes home, after training and fighting and always trying to improve yourself. The man who shows no weakness to his enemy, but allows me to give him comfort when his arms are tired from lifting his blade.
Please Kold...don't let these revelations cause you to question these things. Because whatever else may be in question at this moment, I know these things to be true.

*Kold smiles under his mask, and hugs Kyla*
"Thanks Kyla. Truly, I appreciate your support. I probably wouldn't have made it this far so well without you. It doesn't matter if we met in a recent chapter in my life. Your feelings hold great meaning for me.
I think I understand now. Ever since I found out I was a Toukan, I began to ponder things. Everything 'Gentaru Fragment' said are things that I have known and thought about, as he said. I think these things came to the surface now because something deep in my heart is trying to warn me about something. It's telling me now because somehow I know Yokoshima is somehow related.
I'll never forgive Yokoshima for what he did, and he will pay. Kokujo is right. We just have to move forward and face things as they come. It's just...I somehow know this won't be the end. I think Gentaru was just trying to prepare us for that, and to make sure we were aware so that we wouldn't be manipulated to the point of no return, like he was. I know that's true, because I could detect sadness from Gentaru back when we fought four years ago.
As for my memories....I always knew something was off. But right now, even if it was planned, we're going to kill Yokoshima." *Kold's words have a renewed conviction.*

"hmf...." a slight grin tugged at Kokujo's stony features as he listened to Kyla, then turned back to 'Gentaru'.
"That's right, Kold is Kold, and he'll be Kold tomorrow, and the days after. The past is set in stone, we cannot change it, even if we know it, and knowing the past does not change the fact he is Kold, as long as he remembers that".
He turned his gaze back towards Kold. "I hardly know what your going through, or how this is affecting you......Kold....but Kyla is right. Memories can't change you, as long as you remember who you are.....hmf....and as for the you that is right here, right now....that you doesn't need to worry about old ghosts right now.....we're about to go into battle with powerful opponents, no doubt. So what you need to do now is stay focused.....memories of any sort are worthless if you're dead, after all" he said, though perhaps it would have sounded a little more motivational without Kokujos gloomy voice behind it, it drove his point forth....they couldn't afford to get distracted at the critical point of their quest.
