Yes, when Yuuki woke up and immediately started chomping away on one of the apples.. Dolci was sure that he was, in fact, perfectly fine. She huffed out an exasperated sigh, a mixture of relief and fond annoyance, and dropped down onto her other legs to lower next to him on the grass.
"You can't do that! I don't know if I can take care of you as well as...."
As well as... as... as what? The CHILDREN!?!? That sounded so obscure, and really out of place, and made her realize that she had absolutely no idea how to answer the questions Yuuki followed with.
"I'm not sure," she replied truthfully, casting a sideways glance back at the pretty pink and black orbs. Did they need warmed? Would they have to be fed? What would they eat? Dolci had no clue!
Why hadn't Seraphim stayed around to give them some hints!!
"I'm afraid to touch them," came out a moment later in a hushed tone. "I want to, but I'm not sure if I should. I.. don't want to hurt them." Or break them. Oh how horrible that would be...
"I wish I knew. Maybe they'll--.." Her words were cut short when the orbs seemed to somehow sense what she was about to say. All five bounced slightly in place before slowly hovering closer to the two of them, until the space between the orbs and the two ponies were about the same as they had been -- before Yuuki's fainting spell. "........follow us."

When the orbs followed along, Yuuki had thought he'd seen it all. They were still wiggling every now and then, he watched them closer, leaning against Dolci for support.
"Seraphim would just..drop them off and vanish without explaining anything." He smiled slightly, leaning forward to very carefully poke at one of the orbs with the tip of his nose, leaning back quickly.
"It's warm." He said in a very soft voice.
This was all so very, very, very new to him, he really had no clue what to do, but it seemed that if either he or Dolci moved, the orbs moved as well, at least they wouldn't have to worry about taking turns on watching them when they had to eat or sleep.
Then there was housing, where would they all be kept? They didn't even have a place of their own yet. "Well.." Yuuki took a deep breath. "The apple pie is gonna have to wait, we need to get some things set up first. A place for us, somewhere we can keep the orbs safe.

"I wish he'd come back," she grumbled lightly. If only for just a moment! Far too many questions and too few answers! It was confusing if she tried to think about it for too long.
How long would the orbs stay that way? Would they hatch? What if she and Yuuki didn't care for them right, what would happen to them? If they got hungry, how would she know? Would their wiggling stop? Did they sleep? Could they be broken or hurt? What if she bumped into them? How many--..
Too much!! And she quickly pushed the onslaught of questions to the back of her mind.
"Hmm?" Pulled back out of the rush of thoughts inside her head, Dolci's eyes focused on the end of Yuuki's muzzle as it brushed against one of the orbs. She tensed, bracing for something bad to happen, for the beautiful mystical ball to obliterate into nothingness.... But nothing really happened. The orb wriggled just a fraction more than it had the last time it moved -- and that was all.
"Are they?" Crawling in closer, she fixed her gaze on the orb next to her. The blob was soft pink, and covered with bright gleaming magenta stars; coloring that mimicked her own. It didn't move, but hovered harmlessly in front of her. And after taking a deep breath and holding it, she leaned forward to repeat Yuuki's motion.
She didn't poke at it, but brushed the end of her nose against the orb's surface. It was warm! And just as the orb had twitched just a bit more at Yuuki's touch, so did the one in front of her. A surprised little noise came rushing out of her mouth, along with her held breath, and she blinked at the ball several times quickly.
"They are warm," she mumbled, breathlessly, in agreement. And mesmerizing in their beauty -- the more she stared at it, the more cross-eyed she became.
"Maybe...." And a loud groan soon followed. Peophynnia had enough room to house the two of them -- and their little globular family -- but who knew how willing she would be now to put them up? Under these circumstances, there wasn't much choice. "....we could try Peophynnia again."

Sure, crashing at Peophynnia's would be alright for now, but eventually they would have to find a place of their own. The orbs, eggs, babies... whatever they were, they would become actual ponies sooner or later and he didn't want to impose on anyone.
"For now we can ask her, I'm sure after we explain everything, or as much as we can explain.. She'll understand."
He nodded once, leaning down to nuzzle the light pink and black orb that was closest to him and it wiggled slightly, it was so warm. He eyed it for a moment before mumbling quietly. "They really are cute, aren't they?"

Watching Yuuki with the other orb, hearing what he said....
It was as if everything suddenly and completely cemented in her head. She'd known it, just hadn't been able to say it yet, but that moment -- she actually realized it.
These were future ponies. The orbs dancing and hovering and reacting to their touches, there was a reason for it. They were blobs now, but wouldn't always be... and she would be a parent. She and Yuuki would be parents.
The idea of it hit her like a hoof to the face. It left her dizzy and lightheaded and more than a bit overwhelmed.
But it also made her feel very, very protective. Like instinct had taken a time delay to kick in, and what she should have been feeling from the start was rushing in over her like a wave to the shore.
"Beautiful," she corrected, though playfully. They were cute yes, but to Dolci they were beautiful. She smiled warmly and leaned over towards Yuuki, to nuzzle the other side of the same orb with the tip of her nose. Giggling in delight when the orb wiggled that much more and feeling a swell of pride well up inside her.
"I think she will." And if Peophynnia didn't understand? Well. There was proof! Five times the proof even. Dolci knew the older pony's mothering instinct would instantly kick in (unlike her own, at first) and would take them both in -- floury mess in the kitchen or not. But of course, it would only be temporary.
"We can find somewhere else. For just us." Though this time, she ducked to nuzzle at Yuuki's neck instead. "Tomorrow. Maybe Peophynnia will know what we can do."

Yuuki nodded once. Tomorrow they would start to sort everything out but for now, they just needed to find a place to stay, to keep the orbs safe.
"Let's go see Peophynnia then before Gin comes out, I'm really surprised he hasn't already." He peered back over his shoulder at Gin's door before pushing himself up onto all fours, ducking his head down to nuzzle her gently.
Looking left and right, he snatched another apple up, eating it quickly before stepping around the little orbs carefully, smiling when he saw them wiggle slightly.

"I don't think Gin could handle this," Dolci replied, as gently as she could. Gin would probably stand in the doorway, stare for a moment, tilt his head from one side to the other -- and probably end up fainting just as Yuuki did. It wouldn't help anything to have yet another pony out cold!
Quickly standing, she nodded in agreement. "I think that's best. The sooner we get them inside, the better I'll feel." Because, what would happen if it started raining? What would happen to the orbs if they got wet? Or wind, would it blow them away? Or--..
"Let's go," she said abruptly, interrupting her own train of thought. While she spoke to Yuuki, her statement was directed at the orbs too. If they could hear her, maybe they would move with them if they started off again.
Following Yuuki, she stepped around the orbs gingerly, and then started in a purposely slow walk away from Gin's and towards Peophynnia's. The building, though it was several yards away, loomed over them like a gargoyle. The windows stared at her like unblinking, angry eyes. And even though she knew all would be forgotten the moment Peophynnia saw the orbs and heard the explanation behind them.... well....
It didn't make seeing her again any less nerve-wracking.

Yuuki followed alongside Dolci slowly, watching the orbs intently with every step he took, hoping that they would indeed follow along because he couldn't even think of how they would carry all five of them, perhaps one at a time in the basket.
That wasn't necessary though because just as he had hoped, the orbs were following closely behind the both of them.
What were they going to say to Peophynnia? ("Oh, hello Peophynnia! After we trashed your kitchen, we went for a swim and ran into Seraphim outside of Gin's house and now have five babies! Can we live with you?) Yuuki just shook his head and laughed quietly before slowing to stop just outside of Peophynnia's.
"Before we go in, we should think of what we are going to tell her. She is going to be angry, so we'll need to just.. dive right into explaining about the babies so she forgets about the kitchen incident." He nodded once, leaning in to nuzzle the tip of his nose against the side of her neck before ducking his head down further to nuzzle the orb closest to him gently as well.

Yuuki made... a very valid point. Thinking things out first would definitely be the best course of action. After all, just winging it might leave pauses and in those pauses, Peophynnia could launch into a long-winded lecture -- and there was no stopping Peophynnia once she started in a lecture.
"I think we should start off with lots of apologies. Maybe some sad eyes, too. Groveling would probably help as well."
And maybe if they lasted long enough to apologize without feeling Peophynnia's wrath, and kept the orbs huddled behind them, then they could slowly explain what happened and step aside to let her see the orbs.
Yes. Yes! That sounded like a good plan to Dolci... Inside her home, Peophynnia was still fuming. Of all the nerve! She'd been kind enough to give Dolci somewhere to sleep after her jarring experience with the wolves and THIS was the thanks she got?!
A kitchen in complete disarray. Flour on every surface the eye could see. Fallen apples rolled in a white goopy mess. Butter melted in it's container. Pans in desperate need of washing. And so hot inside, from the oven being on, that as she scrubbed away with a brush in her mouth Peophynnia thought she was actually in the oven herself!
It had taken her all morning to clean the mess Dolci had made. And as much as she tried to ignore it, the fact that there were two sets of hoof prints left behind in the white flour on the floor had her very suspicious. Dolci had brought someone inside without her knowing? In the wee hours of the morning?
The nerve!
She'd actually been staring outside the window, keeping her eyes peeled for signs of that giggly pink pony. Her lecture was all ready, right on the tip of her tongue too, and all she needed was one glimpse of Dolci to unleash it all on her...
And her chance came much faster than she thought it would.
She spied Dolci with Yuuki I bet THAT is who she had in here this morning! coming across the pasture. They were huddled together, nuzzling each other and smiling as wide as ponies possibly could. It seemed strange...
And when she threw open the door, for the other two were coming right for her house to no doubt apologize, Peophynnia's mouth snapped open quickly.
"YOU TWO! Get over here right now..." Dolci jumped almost right out of her skin when the door ahead of them whipped open out of nowhere. She stared, with wide eyes, at the angry face and deep sneer of a very perturbed Peophynnia. Her first instinct was to run...
...and her second instinct was to throw the plan she'd just formulated right out of her head.
Before letting Peophynnia continue, Dolci hopped to the side to let the orbs come into full view. And in a proud, motherly tone, she squeaked at the older pony with a giggle in her voice.
"Look, Peophynnia!! WE HAVE BABIES!"

Yuuki went wide eyed when he heard Peophynnia's door slam open and his eyes widened even more at Dolci's response. What happened to thinking things through and starting with apologies? Dolci was obviously nervous and it was showing.
Yuuki took a deep breath and trotted forward to stand in front of Dolci before starting to speak calmly.
"Peophynnia, let us start off by saying that we are very, deeply sorry for the mess we caused this morning. It was my fault, Dolci was trying to show me how good of a cook she is and then she tripped and knocked over the flour... We were confused which is why we ran and if there is anything we can do for you, to make it up to you, we will do it."
Yuuki nodded slightly, taking in another deep breath before continuing to speak.
"But..as Dolci just said, we are in an unexpected situation. A pleasant unexpected situation. Seraphim has decided to bless us with five very special orbs." He stepped to the side so that the orbs were visible. "As you can see and we believe that the orbs..are our..babies. Mine and Dolci's.

Nervous, yes. But also excited! It was a dangerous mixture, and she couldn't help it when her words just... blurted right out of her. Peophynnia would understand, even without an apology. Of course she would! There were children involved now, after all!
However, she let Yuuki speak, and simply waved her tail back and forth quickly behind her. Yuuki was so smart, what he said was not only the truth.. but if she were Peophynnia, she would have forgiven them on the spot.... Watching as Yuuki stepped forward, Peophynnia's eyes only narrowed further. She listened, of course, but was not amused.
Children were nothing to joke about. It made a pang of deep pain wrench inside of her at the mention of it, a hopeful sort of pain for children of her own, but instead she shook it off and stood her ground.
"If you're using this as an excuse to get out of the mess you made, this is not the way to go about it!"
But.... her gaze shifted to the side, and finally settled on the hovering globes behind and beside Yuuki and Dolci. They were mesmerizing in their slow, methodical bouncing in mid-air. And the colors, they were familiar...
Could it be true?
"I..." She had no idea what to say. If this was a hoax, it was a very well planned one -- and she didn't honestly think Dolci was swift enough to be so excited about a joke. Dolci would be the first to burst into laughter and tell me it was fake.. "It's true! Peophynnia, it's true. They're ours," Dolci said, in a more calm tone of voice.
"We wouldn't lie to you, I promise."
Would it work? Oh, Dolci so hoped it would. Where else would they go? Who else had such expertise with younger ponies? Who--...
And then, without speaking a word, Dolci watched as Peophynnia nodded and stepped out of the doorway. Silently allowing them entrance inside.

Yuuki stepped to the side further to allow Dolci to go first, the orbs following closely behind her and he stepped behind them to keep them guarded, bowing his head towards Peophynnia.
"Thank you, we didn't know where else to go." He let out a sigh of relief, though he had a feeling they weren't 100% forgiven, but this was a good start.
He trotted over to the middle of the room to make room for the other two ponies and the five orbs, looking about the room to measure up the size of Peophynnia's house. This would be fine for now, but he would use their time here to start making a home of there own, one big enough to house the babies when they were born.
He wasn't sure how long he would have to get everything together, so he would have to start working fast, but for today, he would take some time to think everything out. Gin finally woke up form his nap, he was having the strangest dream filled with loud bangs and though he couldn't remember seeing anything, he remembered their were other voices. He shook it off and pushed himself up to trot over to his door, nudging it open to lean down and grab his basket, only to find it was not where he had left it.
"Oo.. Apples." Lots of them and his basket as well. He smiled happily, walking over to grab the basket and gather up the apples, walking back into his house, nudging the door shut behind him with one of his back hooves. "These will make a lovely apple pie."
He nodded once and got to work, firing up the oven to begin baking and was never heard from again. (At least in this story. ;D)

Dolci's pace was hurried as she stepped inside Peophynnia's home. As if the older pony would suddenly change her mind and lock up the door and pretend she'd never heard of either one of them. "Dolci? Yuuki? My goodness, what strange names! I don't know any ponies called Dolci or Yuuki..."
"Thank you!" she chirped at Peophynnia, holding her head down and peering up at the other female with as pathetic a look as she could muster. "Yuuki's right, we didn't know who else could help us. It all just happened so fast... We were ready to ask Gin to--" Er. Maybe mentioning baking right now wasn't the greatest idea. "to.. come out and play.... with us... When Seraphim just appeared out of nowhere and gave us an orb to make a wish on!"
And in a matter of a few moments, Dolci had quickly rattled off the rest of the story. Making sure to tell Peophynnia about the wish she'd made, and the appearance of the new five orbs, and what they felt like and how they moved and.... Once they were inside, Peophynnia let Dolci talk. The more Dolci said, the more it seemed there couldn't possibly be a way she was making it up...
And the orbs, their coloring -- they looked just like the two of them. And Seraphim was known, apparently, to do such things on a whim. Maybe it was true?
"I see," she said calmly, once Dolci had stopped her rambling. "I don't even know what to say," she paused for a moment, looking down at the floor. "Other than you two are very, very lucky. And of course, I'll help you as much as I can."
She stepped over to one of the orbs next to Yuuki and bent her head to peer at it. Nostrils flared but she bumped it, just a little bit, with the end of her nose. The globe didn't move much, just hovered over towards Yuuki further at the nudge -- but once it touched Yuuki's side, whatever was inside gave an obvious twitch.
And then, Peophynnia realized, there could be no doubt about it.
"The bed I made for you last night, Dolci, is still there. We can make one for you as well, Yuuki." Straightening up, Peophynnia offered a more welcome expression. "Why don't you two go set it up now? You know where the room is, Dolci. And there's more bedding inside the cupboard by your room."

"We're sorry to bring this all down on you in such short notice, we appreciate it very much though." Yuuki nodded once toward Peophynnia.
"We won't impose on you for long, I'll do my best to get a place of our own set up before the babies are born."
Trotting over to nudge Dolci on her side gently, he mumbled quietly. "Lead the way." He wanted to started getting the room set up, make a nest of sorts to keep the orbs safe and warm until the day they finally decided to hatch.
Following behind Dolci as she made her way to her room, he walked in behind her, the orbs in toe and started to gather some of the bedding, carrying it over to the corner of the room to start piling it up.

If Dolci didn't think it would be inappropriate, she would have launched herself up onto her hind legs and wrapped an awkward, long-legged hug right around Peophynnia's neck.
Instead, however, she offered another delighted "Thank you!!" before moving off through the house at Yuuki's order.
She was careful not to move too fast as she walked, not wanting to leave the orbs behind, but with Yuuki following as well... she figured (or at least hoped) they would hover along with them.
When she stepped into the room, with the small bed in the corner, she immediately took incentive and began to drag the bedding apart with her hooves. The soft pads and fluffy pillows were all moved next to each other rather on top of one another until the corner of the room was filled with enough linen to keep two ponies and five bouncy globes warm as they slept.
"It'll do," she said gently, peering over towards Yuuki. "It was very nice of her to let us stay." Then settling her attention back on the orbs, that wriggled as they hovered between the two of them, she mumbled quietly. "Do they sleep, I wonder?"
