"Morning." Lorey gave him the same kind of smile, all goofy, like they were just meeting each other for the first time and liked what they saw.
"So this is what waking up with you in our house is like..." she whispered. She sat up and hung over him a bit to give him a kiss. "And we get to clean it all day, lucky us." Her bubbly laughter started up, and she just had to kiss him again for all he was.

Richard just looked up at her with an enamored awe. She was so beautiful. And she was his. His future wife even...
He hoped every morning could start like this. "I'd say so at least. Very Lucky indeed." He leaned his head up to catch her lips in another kiss, bringing his hand up behind her neck, to make it last a little longer. "Though I suppose we do have to get up don't we?" He furrowed his brow and pouted once he pulled back form the kiss.

Lorey looked at him with her big blue eyes for a second in pure happiness. She'd make them coffee, and whatever other little bits of food he'd bought on his trip to town.
"We do. So come on! Let's get up and start this day and show this house some love."
Lorey ran over to Richard's side of the bed and started tickling and poking him to get out. Having ever had something as large as a house to call her own, Lorey was ecstatic about the day ahead.

Richard laughed and cried out in joy and a little pain as he jumped right up. "Ok ok! I'm UP!" He laughed, grabbing her in a hug to attempt to stop the tickling. "I'm up love..." He kissed the back of her neck before letting her go. "Though I think I'll get dressed and check the attic first. To see the damage from the rain... then we can have break fast adn I cant get started on the roof ok?" He asked with a sweet c**k of his head.

That little quirk filled her stomach with butterflies.
"I'll come with you and see, too. And if you're going to be making repairs, be careful, and if you're going shirtless, wear sunscreen. I won't have you turning as red as a tomato for a leak."
She went to grab a shirt to put over her tank top, since the air conditioning was a little chilly. Even without coffee, she was buzzing with excitement.

Richard laughed, slipping off his PJ bottoms to put some jeans on. He wanted to be able to get dirty if need be up in the attic. "I'll be careful, hthough I haven't had a sunburn since I was a boy..." He shook his head, making his way down the hall to find out where the stairs to the large attic were.

Lorey followed suit, putting on some shorts she had brought so she could get dusty while exploring. Outisde the room, her footsteps ran up to Richard as he searched for the stairs. It was a beautiful house, with wood accents here and there or small wall paintings. Lorey was enchanted.

"You are putting on sunscreen, or I'll do it for you." She thought something like that might convince him to at least let her do it for him.

Richard sighed, opening a narrow door at the end of the hall, a small stair way leading up to the attic. "Fine...but only if you do it..." He glanced back, giving her a wink before trudging up the stairs. "Be careful here love..." He called over his shoulder, just before he nearly tripped himself. His face was red from embarrassment but he shook it off, getting to the attic. It was almsot big enough for him to stand up completely, but not enough. He had to bend over slightly, making him just a tad taller than Lorey.

The attic was rather large though ,boxes upon boxes everywhere, and even a few old timey wooden trunks. There was some old furniture covered with sheets that were no longer being used, as well as a small window, letting in some light. But almost immediately, Richard found what he was looking for. There were parts here and there in the ceiling and on the floor that were a bit darker than the rest. Richard could even smell the mildew, immediately making him worry about Lorey being up there in it all. He made his way over to a particularly large part and grimaced, touching the ceiling. He sighed when it seemed squishy. "Yea... it needs a lot of work... I just hope it didn't ruin-" He looked down. A box was looking rather saggy and wet under the spot. Richard frowned again, opening it up. Inside were more photos. More of young Vi and her memories. Ruined. It made him sad, but he'd try to salvage what he could for her to get later.
"Vi said we were free to keep anything in the house we wanted, except for a few of the boxes up her in the attic. She said the furniture up here, the supplies in the cellar and workshop outback. All ours. She said there'd be tar and other things I could use to repair cracks and roofing... poor gal, worked on this house all on her own for who knows how long..." He sighed looked around in awe.

Lorey touched each photograph inside as if it were a great treasure, and though it wasn't to her, she knew it was to someone else she barely knew.
"We can save a few of these, if not most," she said, having experience with rescuing things that others wanted to get rid of. Most of that was clothes and books, but she could try her hand at photographs as well.

"She sounds a lot like me. All on her own, doing things she had to just to make things work... only I had an apartment and plumbing to look after, not a roof. I can't imagine what a house must be like when it's just you."

Richard chuckled a little, looking down at one particular picture of a baby cule and baby Vi fighting over a toy. He shook his head. "I don't know why...but I feel like she's my little sister... Is that strange?" He asked, turning back to look at Lorey. "Its like Since I first met her, I have this strange want and need to help her out and protect her... but not ion a romantic way. It was quite odd...just like shes my baby sister..." He shook his head, finding it amusing. "But I'm glad she has Vi to get her out of this place and explore the universe like she wanted...she didn't want to be cooped up here...she's too ornery." He laughed a little, setting the picture back to move the box out of the way.

"She's very lucky to have someone like you to look after her. With the way you fuss over me, I can only imagine how you've helped her." Lorey kissed his cheek and gave him back the photos she was holding. They could probably move the box down the steps to dry out on the porch and air out, keeping it out of the sun of course.

"Well, maybe after you're done patching things up, we can look at this furniture and see what we can use. Today, I'm pulling out the old cleaning skills." Lorey wiggled her fingers as if she had a magic touch for these things, when really it was just a way of life.

"I really haven't done anything for her...and now she's given us a house... I owe her..." He shook his head, smiling. But getting down to business he nodded. "Knowing how wonderful you are, this place will be sparkling in no time..." He smiled, leaning over to kiss her sweetly.

"And you can pilot a ship and take care of it, so I trust you with this roof business. But be careful up there! Please!" She took his face in her hands to emphasize her worry, giving him the big blues for a plead. If they had come so far to have richard fall off of a roof, Lorey wouldn't know what to do with herself.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 30, 2009 7:20 pm

Richard sighed, shaking his head. If only she knew what all he had been through, working on a roof was child's play. No, in fact he was glad she didn't know. She'd worry herself to death. So for the time being, he merely smiled and promised with his heart and soul he'd be careful. Thats when he gave her one last kiss, leading her back down the stairs so they could both get ready for the day ahead of them.

And so, Richard began his work on the roof, and Lorey began her laundry. For the sake of conserving energy, she set up a drying line from a hook on the side if the house to a tree, and hung the sheets there for a fresh air drying. Everything, she was sure, would smell wonderful after a day of air like that. Maybe even Richard, she thought with a little laugh.

Lorey washed windows, sills, and even the walls. Everything was efficient, just as she had been used to for all those years, with her mother and without. She sang the songs she knew to make things go faster.

After a few hours passed, a woman appeared at the path leading to the house. She looked like a pretty sort, with black hair and a nice figure. She was tanned from gardening and had an energetic spring to her step. Teagan Morrows was about twenty three.

As she neared the house, she could see a dashing man up on the roof. That, she thought, must be Richard. And as much as her heart went out for that handsome man, she also knew that her friend has said he'd mentioned his fiancee, so he was off-limits.
"Howdy!" she called up to him, waving her arm and hanging on to a basket with the other. "Mind if I give you two a welcoming gift?"
