Sargent Jacob Masterson
Forerunner Structure
Harvest

Per usual Jake's squad had the watch. They took it in shifts. Jake thought he was falling asleep at post because he could swear he kept seeing motion in his peripheral vision. He was snapped out of his stupor when The O-5 came out of his tent and looked around for his warthog. His driver was still abed so Jacob took his Heavy wepons man and hopped into the Hog and drove over to the O-5. "Morning Sir." He asked in his most innocent voice. He was a grunt and thought it would be no big deal. Back in basic he was the Designated driver because he was the only one with a license. "Where do you need to be ferried?"

>> NAME: Hammer, Michael R. | UNSC NAVY O-5
>> FORERUNNER STRUCTURE [HARVEST]

Hammer stopped and and the head turned towards the Sergeant. The visor shimmered as it reflected multiple lights around the camp. Under the helmet there was but a blank stare was in his eyes. He strolled over in a not so casual fashion, he grabbed with his right hand the top bar over the passenger seat beside the driver and leaned in a it.
"Wait here."
He walked couple meters away, then tapped in the orders and sent them out.

      >>SENT: [O-5.MRH]
      >>RECEIVED: [RECON_TEAM:ALPHA]

Move out. All to entrance way of Forerunner Structure. Wait there for further orders.

      70:45:12.1638, -41:19:50.9190

He hoped into the warthog the same way he always has done the past countless times. He didn't look at the Sergeant, but looked straight on ahead.
"You should know where to go."

(Get it, the whole camp is going.

Obviously no one here is left at Alpha Base.)

Edwards, Daniel | Major
UNSC Amnesty of God
Harvest | Outside Forerunner Structure

"What do you expect to find Commander?" Daniel said as he sat in the back of the warthog, stroking his freshly shaven left chin.
"You should already know what we are trying to find Major."
He strapped in and turned on the security system in the camp in his PDA as the rest of the soldiers got into warthogs. Even though there were men still at camp, he wanted to make sure no one would be an idiot while they were away.

Corporal Oleksy Lebenov
Location: Edge of camp
Status: Awaiting Orders

The Corporal climbed into the back of a transport hog just behind one carrying the brass. His squad was currently not tasked with anything other than staying with the group, so he took the moment to down a ration he had grabbed on his way over. Most people can say what they like, but he for some odd reason didn't find rations to be all too bad. Sure all it had was mystery meat and a potato like substance, but it had its own sort of flavor to him.

Wolfing down the food, he began to look at the other occupants climbing into the hog, trying to figure out who would likely be tasked with what.

Sargent Jacob Masterson
Harvest
Advancing to Forerunner Structure

When the Commander and Major were situated in the Warthog Jacob led the pack to the structure. It was a smooth ride until the ice road became the strange alloy that seemed to be spreading from the structure. It was like driving over a washboard. The Sargent passed into the structure with the formation in tow. Past the doors there was a ramp. The ramp led to a circular shaft lined with causeways arranged in a downward spiral. Jacob drove down the ramp to the terminating point. The path went 90 degrees into a large doorway in the wall. "Fifth floor, Home appliances, cookware, sports, and pantyhose!" Jacob shouted to his passengers. His fire team laughed there heads off. The CMDR. looked less than pleased. "Sorry sir." Jake said sheepishly.

(Sorry about that, I'll leave the room to you because I have no clue what were here for.)

(EDIT: I did want the entrance... But... Hmmm...)

Corporal Oleksy Lebenov
Location: 5th floo- Entrance to Forerunner relic
Status: Taking point

The Corporal looked about the chamber in awe, amazed at the complex architecture of the forerunner relic. He took a couple of steps forward, before getting back to the task at hand. Moving to the front of the group, he volunteered himself for point, wishing to see more of the structure as quickly as possible.

His attention was drawn to his feet by a clinking sound from his foot knocking something against the floor. The empty slightly smelly husk of a hunters back spike rested against his foot. The rest of the armor sat a short distance away, the stain of its owners orange blood being the only thing left behind in the 30 years of slumber in the artifact. Oleksy reached down and picked up the spike, finding it somewhat heavier then he expected it to be.

Turning to the rest of the unit and his superiors, he grinned and said, "Now something like this would be a good conversation piece, da? You think customs would allow me to keep this?"

PFC Jackson King
Harvest
Advancing to Forerunner Structure

Jackson's Warthog was the last in the line. "Hold on to yer asses!" Jackson cried out, as the Warthog fish-tailed and started to spin. "s**t s**t s**t!" Jackson got the Wart under control and sighed. "God damnit Jack, you made O'Brien piss himself again!" The fireteam roared in laughter and Jackson joined in. "Just goes to show yah how tough 'e is." He shouted back to the marine. Jackson rolled up next to Jacob's Warthog and let his team off. "'Ey Jacob," Jackson called out, "You got your snow tires on?" He asked the other.

>> NAME: Hammer, Michael R. | UNSC NAVY O-5
>> FORERUNNER STRUCTURE [HARVEST]

"Drop it marine."
Hammer said as he walked on a bit further and then he turned around. He switched on the speaker phone in his helmet.
"ALRIGHT! SQUADS 1 TO 3 AND 5 TO 8 ARE WITH ME. 4 AND 9 IS STAYING HERE WITH MAJOR EDWARDS. ALL BUT THE DRIVERS ARE ON FOOT. LETS MOVE."
He turned on the lights on his helmet and walked on ahead, leading the soldiers into the structure. As they walked on, marines threw flares about and Hammer noticed multiple side doors. But he knew that they needed to check out the main hall before checkout the rest of the place.

He looked up. The roof was pretty far away, but as they went along it suddenly disappeared from the reach of their lights. He looked forward and saw that he was not far from a small wall. He saw movement to his left, but it when he looked, there was nothing.
"Alright, 2nd Squad stay here, 1-3-5 with Captain Stone. 6-7-8 with me."

Corporal Oleksy Lebenov
Location: Forerunner relic
Status: Accompanying CMDR Hammer

The Corporal had been disappointed but not surprised at the refusal, and placed the spike in the proper place on the carcass it had been separated from, before falling into formation with the rest of the men in 6th. He flicked on the flashlight on his MA5C and helped keep the area ahead of them illuminated. The weak light only extended so much farther than the magnesium flares though, and at best could illuminate objects not flush with the terrain, such as bodies or the frequent seemingly purposeless walls and semi pillars the forerunners seemed so found of.

Oleksy saw the commander flick his head over for something, before dismissing it, and the Corporal added occasional sideways sweeps to his illumination, but otherwise didn't think anything of it. After a moment he noticed a console next to a chasm. Jogging ahead slightly he examined its dimly lit interface and looked to the chasm.

"Bridge controls maybe? We aren't getting across this without a pelican otherwise. Orders Sir?" Oleksy said, noting the avoidance of side passages, and the desire of their commander to stay on a specific path.

(sonofa, forgot to finish the sentence after the speaking)

Private Lance Sikes
Status: Bored
Location: Inside Forerunner Structure

"Alright Delta! You herd the commander!" said the sergeant of Delta squad as their squad stopped as everyone moved on ahead. "Keep a look out Delta!" yelled the sergeant as everyone stayed close together. "Permission to speak sir!" said Lance as the sergeant looked over at a corner. "What do you want private!?" said the sergeant as Lance answered. "We should lower out voices sir... Who knows what is still here." said Lance as the whole group gathered in a circle and dropped to their knees. "You're just hearing things private..." said the sergeant keeping his voice as low as he can. "Well when's the last time you hear something say hostiles...?" said Lance as the group suddenly got serious. "Are you sure about this marine...?" said the sergeant to Lance. "I'm sure sir...! said Lance as the sergeant nodded and sent a signal to the commander so he can see it on his visor. "Keep a sharp eye out then...!" said the sergeant as the squad got up and looked around cautiously. "Stick close...!" said the sergeant.

Sargent Jacob Masterson
Forerunner Structure
Harvest

Masterson stuck with his fire team in Squad 8. He knew this was ignoring the previous order from the CMDR, but he felt that leaving his team at Hammer's mercy after three consecutive watch details was more than insubordination. Hammer's Squads moved behind their formidable CO throwing their orange-red flares left and right to illuminate the chambers. The unit came to a point where flares were no longer necessary because a purple blue light was emanating from the room ahead. When Hammer saw the light Jacob could swear he heard the CO's heart skip a beat. The unit came to the doorway and awaited orders from CMDR Hammer.

>> NAME: Hammer, Michael R. | UNSC NAVY O-5
>> Dormant Cartographer, Harvest, Epsilon Eridani

A flash of light lit up the east side of the Forerunner hall as the bridge came to life. The Spartan super soldier, Commander Hammer, lifted his hand from the bridge’s control module, the helmet’s visor flashing as he turned to look across the path of light. No one needed to say anything, for the Commander walked across without hesitation or fear. All who was with him followed, some scared, some a little too eager to get across. They all made their way to the middle platform, greeted by another flash of light as another bridge came to life.

The Spartan made his way across to find the cartographer a few meters in front of him, an officer following closely behind him. The Commander walked with an air of success about him, though the officer approached with much more caution. Hammer stopped and looked down at the large glowing orb before him. He placed his MA5C on his back, the magnets in his suit holding the rifle in place for him while he retrieved a data chip from a slot in the back of his helmet. Looking down at the bit of hardware in his left hand he couldn't help but feel a bit nostalgic. All A.I.'s could be downloaded onto one of these chips and transported, having done so himself a few times with Angel.

As the Commander reached his right hand forward a holographic display appeared next to the orb. After so many missions that had taken him to forerunner structures, he knew exactly what he was looking at. He inserted the data chip into a slot below two holographic cylinders, both of the objects rotating briefly on the holo-panel. The cool sensation in the back of his skull was completely gone now, something he had grown used to traveling around with Angel all the time. A blue light became visible in the holo-panel and Captain Stone, the officer accompanying the Commander backed up cautiously. Angel rose steadily from the holo-panel, her body reeling with symbols, various lines and code containing information.

My God, the information stored in this cartographer... It's unbelievable!

"Angel, focus. We have a mission to complete."

Right, right... Okay, I'm ready. You need to activate the cartographer first, then I can do it.

The Commander looked down at the glowing orb and reached his right hand out to it. The orb grew brighter and began to turn, the hexagonal symbols displayed about it's surface lighting as it went. The sphere stopped suddenly as his hand touched it's surface, his fingers splayed out upon it touching individual hexagons. The Commander looked up from the sphere as bright lights shot from the center of the cartographer. His eyes drifted to Angel, still displayed on the holo-panel. Her body was changing colors rapidly from violet to blue to pink, and lines of code turned into seemingly solid lines. The star map moved quickly, turning about in a less than symmetrical way. The stars had turned from dots of light into streaks as it twirled. Every now and then it would stop, and then jerk in a different direction to continue twirling.

Suddenly the star map stopped twirling and right before his eyes he found a red square around a planet far off in the milky way. Then the map collapsed in unison with Angel, who landed on her side, one arm supporting her and one hand holding her head. Just from the look on her holographic face he could tell she was exhausted, which meant that there was a lot of information inside. He knelt down before the device and put his arms on his knees, taking in her image. She looked at him with a weak smile and nodded her head. Inside his helmet a small but triumphant smile of victory was plastered to his face, away from the seeing eyes of the Marines. He stood up straight and pushed a circular symbol on the holo-panel, causing Angel to disappear and the data chip to eject. The Commander grabbed the chip and slipped it back into his helmet, the cold liquid feeling rushing back into his skull. With a deep breath he turned to face the Marines, keeping his chat with Angel inside his helmet.

"You did get it, didn't you?"

Yes, I did. I got all of it. It's... almost too much. I have to off-load the information.

Major Daniel Edwards had now come in, and he stepped from the glowing bridge onto the cartographer platform. A light flashed as he stood looking at the Commander, and with a swift nod a smile came to the man's grizzled face. Captain Stone still looked a tad bit worried, a case of the jitters coming to him. Maybe it was just the cold, or maybe it was too quiet; Nobody knew. As Captain Stone turned to look at the cartographer once more he tripped, his toe catching the lip of the slightly raised platform. He fell face forward onto the glow ball, his assault rifle spitting forth hot lead into the device. The bullets pinged off harmlessly, but the orb turned a deep red. Captain Stone quickly recovered and looked around, a deep humming sound emitting from the air around them. The Commander looked around defensively with his assault rifle cradled in his hands. All around them, rising from the depths of the chasm and entering through vent like portals in the walls were robots of semi-sentient nature that held a slight resemblance to a triangle with a light bulb in the center. Hammer knew them as sentinels, and they didn't look happy.

"Angel, what's going on?" he asked the A.I.

Oh no, this isn't good... We need to get our of here now!

Corporal Oleksy Lebenov
Location: Cartographer
Status: Accompanying CMDR Hammer

Oleksy leaned over next to the commander looking closely at the spherical interface. Try as he might he could not find any irregularities in its surface, despite the fact that it was mathematically impossible to make a spherical object out of only hexagons, one had to mix in pentagons at some point to close off the shape. He considered feeling around on the side he couldn't see to find out if it bulged out obscenely back there but didn't feel like possibly finding a "release killbots" button.

Turning around with some irritation evident on his face, he decided to look down the chasm from the edge of the platform. He found it odd that all that seemed to be here was a star chart with detailed placement of celestial bodies. Why just have a navigation computer in such a massive structure, there had to be something else. A port, or even an observatory would do. Passing it off as just overly fancy design he moved once again towards what he assumed would be the point position, as he guessed they got what they came for and would be leaving shortly.

>|Sergeant| Morrel , Tom
>|Locate:Forerunner Structure | Setting Up A Long Perimiter.

Sergeant Morrel sighed, watching the The Group mess with the Console. He wanted nothing to do with it. He and His squad were the Lone Wolves of the Group, Prefering to work without other squads or even each other. He leaned aganist the wall, Examining the Map on his Wrist Device. He was planning tactics, it was his job. Having picked the best spots for his team to move to incase of an attack he uploaded it to the teams Devices, each marked out with ETAs, vision range and retreat plans.

He leaned off the wall and walked over the the console, watching what they were doing. He stared at the sphere, wondering what each hexagon meant.
