"Kahlan will do fine, I'd rather stay away from titles." She unlocked the back door of the bar and led him to a hidden staircase. "You'd be surprised how much room I have in this place, I'll need to reset some of it's properties so that it will allow you to access rooms, like your bed room for example!" She led him down a short hallway and opened the last door on the left. "This will do for your room, feel free to change it to your likings, I'm right across the hall. If you want I'll leave you to settle a bit before showing you the rooms you'll train in, and explaining what you can do in the Bar for me."

I look at it. She was very kind, a drab blue metal Grey room. "I will?" I shake my head and look around. I look at the cot. I sit on it and then cry. My life was going to be great. I needed sometime to figure things out.

The assassination had gone over perfectly. It was bloody just like the man asked and i disposed of the body. It was easy to get him to a secluded place after a few drinks. It was even easier to kill him. Disposing of his body wasn't any problem. I used an orb of darkness on it after lighting him on fire and waited for the fire to go out before dumping the ashes into a dumpster. There would be absolutely no way of telling who killed him. It was late though. I wanted to find the man or at least that jairn guy. I figured the best bet would be the bar i met him at. I walked until a cab stopped for me and gave it the name of the bar. When i got to the cab i had to tip him with all my remaining money. Hopefully who ever owned the bar would let me get a few drinks free. I pushed the door open. There weren't many people there. most of them were passed out. I sat at the bar and hit the little bell and waited. I didn't notice jairn here. I guess i could just wait for him for a while.

Kahlan left Jacques to get used to things, and went to go configure all the rooms. On her way down the hallway she got an ding alerting her of an unattended customer. What is my other employee doing?? She passed into her "office" and came out to the Bar. Oh she's passed out of course..with a customer even better. At least I can fire her now. She scanned the room for the new customer, spotted him and walked over, grabbing a drink off one of her shelves on the way and pouring it into an available glass. "Here on the house, given my employee isn't doing her job." She flashed a brilliant smile and moved a little ways down the bar so as not to intrude on his privacy.

Without looking up right away i start speaking " Oh its no problem about your employee, After all shes only huma-" I cut myself off when i looked up. At first glance i could instantly tell she wasn't a human. she. . . she was almost angelic. Like the ones i saw in the textbooks when i was just a child. My dark pointed ears dropped down and my face actually managed to redden slightly. imagine that. A drow blushing. This was amazing. She was easily more beautiful then any drow i had encountered in my life. I never finished my sentence. I was left stammering.

"Human? Yes, she is and a very silly one. She was a good worker till she started serving herself drinks every night." Kahlan rolled her eyes and came back over to the elf, while she polished a glass. "So if you don't mind my asking what's you name?"

" oh uh . . .well My names Jarlaxle Baenre. M-My father is the brother of the king of the My people the Drow." I was revealing way more information than i normally did. This could be dangerous. I didn't even know this girl. Sheesh next thing i knew i was gonna be telling her about my banishment. This was terrible. I just couldn't help it "so. . .Who're you? I ugh. . . i mean whats your name. . . no well i guess it works both ways". I was starting to babble again.

She looked at him curiously. "My name is Kahlan Elfreda, I am daughter of a high angel.." She drifted off, not at liberty to tell the whole truth of what she was. It would be obvious to any trained eye that she wasn't a full angel, and what would one being doing on earth. She decided to stop her worried pondering, Jarlaxle would forget her as soon as he left the city. "Look at me failing to be a suitable Bartender!" She said in a more enthusiastic tone, " You seen a little nervous, don't be and your welcome to another drink, you name it." She smiled reassuringly, she didn't want to say something and make him leave, there was something about him that interested her and not in the way humans do.

I wake up to my head pounding. "Thirty minute catnap and my head hurts like hell. Maybe its a kink." I rub my neck and get off the cot. I felt better about my life. Alway was good to do some crying. Now, where is that armory? I look around, touching the walls where it was supposed to be. Hmm, how did she do that? Was it... I touch the walls in certain places, but after a while of nothing happening, I quickly give up. I guess I should go help tend the bar.

After that fall, there was little I could do but rest. I hate falling from buildings, really I do. "Shur'ran, it hurts. I think I need some help..." He grunts and then a white light is emitted from his mouth, it quickly envelopes me, and I feel a bit better, the pain is gone at least. "Thanks, I think its time to see if I can't find him. I want to try and talk to him, tell him why it was him. Yeah, I do." I feel a burst f pain, and I fall back to my bed. "Or maybe later..."

An all Vincent post here, for my sake.
I grab my leg, and pushing it over the bed, I get up. I walk over to my clothes, and head to the bathroom. Once dressed, I head out into the living room. "I am ready." I wasn't, no way, but I had things to do as well. "Let us go." I summon Oblivion, and walk out the door. Conleth, Shur'ran, and Genaveve all looking after me. They scurry to catch up. Somewhere out on the outskirts of town, and I needed a taxi. Better yet, I needed a lonesome corner for a portal. I find it, and we find ourselves back in the office. "He was lucky, he won't be next time. Cocky human is probably bragging to his little human friends about how he beat up an immortal being. Hmph." I work my arms. "But he did surprise me. He is better than alot of other humans. His hand to hand could potentially be deadly to any being. I would love to see him and Jairn, or that Drow... That would be very interesting, he would eventually lose, has no magics, no defense against it. Hmph. I can't believe I lost against him! Luck... It had to be all luck." I think about it. He had to be more than human, but he was only human. It had to be. Unless.... "Genaveve, did you ever get the impression he was more than human? I mean, human, but not ordinary human?" She raises an eyebrow.
"No, Vincent, there is nothing but human, you can't be more than human and be human." Shur'ran barks. "No, Gramps, no way. Its not possible."
"It is too. I know what Vincent means." He says coming from his fox to human forms. "He could be an Ancient. Human Ancients have been known to be reborn as a child, and then forget all of their knowledge. I doubt it seriously though, they have become all but extinct." He coos lightly. "And if he was, we would know it right off the bat. He would be seen to magical beings. I am sorry Vin, but he is a regular human."
"Is he?" I say softly. "Can a regular human take a magical punch to the nose and keep fighting?" Genaveve looks at me. She had missed that obviously. "I don't think so. He must be something more, but he is definitely of the human species." I squat and think. "There is little possibility of a human Ancient, but what about...."
"If he was an Ancient, do you think he would remember?" Conleth chimes in. "You know, like.... After we prod his memory a bit. You know, with a bit of spoken probes. He would remember at then we would know." I shake my head no, and every one agrees with me. "It was a thought." He growls.
"He is a human, and he is good. Leave it at that. Many humans have been known fighters, and good fighters. It is one of their best traits, along with their hardiness." Shur'ran says with wisdom behind his voice. "I do think that is all it is. He is a good fighter, some more training, and he could be a deadly force. Vincent, when are you going to stop using his likeness? You planned on killing him, and now that we know he is a force, I do think it is better to give it back to him." I sigh. This was going to get tricky.

I stammered quite a bit. " A-Are you sure? I'd be willing to do some work for you to pay myself off." I was so confused at myself. I was degrading myself a noble to offering to do bar tending. "are. .. are you an angel?" I asked immediately regretted it. I was such an idiot. What if i was wrong. This was so embarrassing

"You could say that. Oh and don't look mortified you're observant I like that." While she was still talking to Jarlaxel, Jacques came out of the office door, a slightly puzzled look on his face. "Oh!" Kahlan exclaimed remembering that she hadn't reconfigured the rooms yet to allow him into the human armory the kitchen or the small training room. "My appologies, Jarlaxel I need to go fix something for a moment, I will return in the meantime.. Jacques can you please fix our customer here another drink should he want it?" Kahlan dashed off into the secret half of the bar, and started fixing the rooms.

I raise an eyebrow. "Um, okay..." I look at him. "Don't see many of you here. I guess I should ask, are you another of the immortal races?" I quickly find a mug and fill it, sliding it towards him. "How rude of me, sorry. I am just, you look, different."

I considered getting up and following her for a minute but discarded the idea. i looked up at the man still a bit dazed. otherwise i would of been . . . well a jerk. "no not immortal. I'm just a drow. We live a lot longer than humans but. . . we do die. I'm about 98 right now. Technically i haven't quite hit adulthood but yeah." that was true actually. In human age I guess i would be only about 20. I laid my head down on the table for a minute and slowly fell asleep.

She finished and walked back out to see Jacques looking bored and Jarlaxel asleep. Seriously? "I leave for less then 10 minutes and you manage to put him to sleep? What did you say?" Kahlan shook her head and walked over to Jarlaxel's sleeping form. She tapped him on the sholder, "I wasn't gone that long, is my bar that boring?"
